In all of the confusion over the pool being down no one has noticed that our Christmas block was hit by a 12THs miner, nhminer.  Well done!

After one of my s4+ came back online it's showing a high percentage of invalid. What's up with that
At a guess It looks like your S4+ was hacked into.
Yes there's a gap of no shares being sent to the pool for about 5hrs.
I presume at the end of that period someone checked the setting in the miner and changed them back to the pool.

There is a major security issue with ALL bitmain miners.
They have default usernames/passwords for all access and also the cgminer API is set wide open to anyone with network access to change anything.

If your miner is behind a standard home network router, that usually solves the security problem.
However, many home network routers have ways for people to hack into them and get through to your home network.
Wifi is also far for being very secure.

I've already had another user report such a problem so I would put it on advisement to all miners on the pool (or any other pool) who have Bitmain miners, to ensure the passwords on them are not default and also to modify the API allow access to NOT be W:0/0

The previous user found his miners pointing to an address at Eligius.
Eligius has a policy of no help (and no blocking any miners) unless you have a court order so you really need to be vigilant about this.

I have no access to my miners as it has been held in china and pay for maintenance.  I have same issue for more tha 4 hrs ...my id is , please can you check.

I'd be surprised if that's it as I'm behind a Sonicwall Nsa with no outside ports open to the Wan. I'm pretty sure it was sending slush pool shares to Kano as I never had this issue until the website went down and it went to slush as the backup.

Unless you see something else?

On the Workers page if you click on the "Show Details for Invalids:" checkbox it will show you a breakdown of the invalids.

The pairs of numbers are "Diff/Shares"

Stale: shares from work before a block change were sent after a block change
Dup: duplicate shares to ones already sent
Hi: share difficulty didn't exceed the required difficulty sent by the pool
Reject: the shares were either corrupt or more than about 15 minutes old

is everything ok now ?

I have a question about the rewards system.
I have recently pointed my 4x Antminer S7 to kano but I can see the rewards I get per block solved are very low.
I noticed N average gets higher and higher every time, I am mining with approx 19 Th/s and my N average got to about 14 TH/s in 4 days of mining.
How does this work ? Can this N average get even higher than the power I am mining with ?

Yes it takes approx 5 days to get fully up to speed. Then you wil get full reward per block.> but in the same token if you leave  for five days you wil get reducing rewards .. it will all work out:)

So in order to get full power I need to "sacrifice " 5 days ? Why does it work like this ?
Have a read of the Help->Payouts web page (you don't need to be logged in to read that)

...
Hello. Sorry to bother you. Why is my hash rate reported in kano.is so low?. Over what period is that calculated?. Thanks. My username is fabrizziop over there.
To get somewhat accurate stats of your miners you need to look at the "Workers" page on the web site.
The "Hash Rate" will take about 3 hours to be accurate.
The "Share Rate" is subject to high variance but is useful to see that shares have been sent in the "«Elapsed" time shown next to it.

To get accurate stats of your accepted shares to the pool, i.e. what you will be rewarded, the shifts page will show that.
If you didn't mine for a whole shift, then the hash rate shown will be a fraction of your actual hash rate.
e.g. if you mined for half a shift, it will show as half your hash rate.

If instead you are talking about the PPLNS reward, there's a whole page about it on the web site under Help->Payouts

Have a read of all that and then ask again if you still have questions and point out which numbers appear to be low.

You will continue to receive payouts if you leave, so it averages out.

Mining was affected from Dec-25 15:04:22 UTC for ~45 minutes

The attack is quite a bit smaller now and all should be OK for everyone.

I don't have any wake-up alerts on the web page itself so if the web wasn't working before mining stopped I didn't know
I was asleep Smiley
But it would only have been very shortly before that if at all.

The attack was a botnet attack. I checked the IP address of a small collection of the computers and they were all in the USA
So yeah almost certainly some botnet of windows PCs with viruses on them under control of someone.

Good to see the block stats are still looking good with that last block Smiley
