And, another thing about losing power...it messed up my BTC chain. Anybody got a recent bootstrap.dat file? The ones online are old.

not avisable anymore. should be as fast or faster to just let bitcoind or the qt wallet do its magic.
Assuming he's on the 0.10.x core.  Prior to that, it's still better to use the bootstrap.  Explain how you chain got messed up, Capn?  Maybe you could try fixing with a rescan?
That is an assumption I made.
Figured you did, but just wanted to ensure I covered the case where he hasn't yet upgraded to the latest core.

Yup...on the latest core. When I lost power, of course the wallet didn't shut down correctly so the .dat file ended up being scrambled. It's OK tho...I only have 38 weeks left for the update. Not taking as long as I thought. Thanks anyways Guys.

It's Light Show time in FL USA. Lots of 'Boomers'...just knocked out my power for a bit. Hmmmm...could it be why my router left the scene just a while ago? Very possible.

No matter what I do to protect, even with UPS, it can't be helped. My backup batt only lasts for about 5 min., so if the juice is out longer than that, I have to wait for things to come back online.

This is the 'Lightning Capital'.

I see, so my miner was connected when the blocks were found, but just not when they matured? That makes sense, thanks for the explanation!  Smiley

No, even if you're not connected to the pool any longer, your shares have to age out.

So lets say I connect with 10TH and the speed is around what it is, it will take me 11 days before I'm paid for my full 10TH for any blocks found during that time frame as my shares are ramping up to full.  Once I disconnect, it takes 11 days for my shares to ramp back down.

So in the above example if we find a block on day 2, I'll get paid like I was actually mining at around 1.8TH/sec, day 4, 3.6TH/sec and so on until day 11 when I'm paid at 10TH/sec.  If I stop after I'm at fulls shares, they ramp down at the same speed.

This is all based on the current pool speed and expected time to find a block etc.

edit: after looking at it, expected time to find a block is about 66 hours at 900th/sec for the block, so 330 hours for the full 500% share.  It takes just under 14 days to reach full shares.

Hmm, I had my Blockchain wallet open and I heard 3 tx beeps in a row.... I got 3 payments from those lucky blocks, yet I unplugged my miner a few days ago... mind you I only had about 45 GH/s on the pool, but still... Is my unplugged miner ghost mining? Cheesy

Its how the payouts work, it takes 500% of average expected block time to reach full mining and about the same for all your shares to expire.  Right now that's about 11 days or something via napkin math.

Well the payouts stretch back 500% from when the block was found which is currently about 12 days
so your 12 hours wont make much of a dent in your payout being only 1/24th of the time
... at a guess? and probably mostly after the 3 blocks? so maybe even less than 1/24th

I've sent the 3 block payouts - all awaiting confirm

All confirmed

Edit: and I threw a ckpool restart in also.
Should have only been reconnect messages, no failover.

Dang is right...& then some. It's a B* setting up a new router (not as bad as a server, but that don't work /wo the router so..). Dang..lol..thing just kicked me out...the S3+ I have, kicked out the hard wire & went to WiFi...sheesh..ain't seen nothing like it. Not too sure I'm keeping this router tho. It was the only one my local BestBuy had on the shelf, & I could get one by Fri, if I order today. Gotta see how this goes. Might be calling the store.

Awesome luck today...glad I have a bunch of rental hash pointed this way  Smiley

Did you ever get that S4?   (sorry off topic)

Yes, I did. The box it was shipped in had no packing material in it and all the edges were crushed. But somehow it made it unscathed. I had to use 2 cans of compressed air to blow all the dust out of it, it was disgusting inside! I have it running solo for now  Wink

Back on topic -- it's so nice to see Kano CKPool show up on blockchain.info instead of the usual AntPool/F2Pool pools  Grin

What's the going rate for an S4?  I came across one on CL for $400, but I chickened out.

I paid 1.5 BTC shipped, so about $350. I think anywhere around 400 would be fair.

Wow, that's crazy.  I'm sad my miners pointed over to westhash for a few hours because the rate went above .0120

:p

I would buy one for $400 but never bought anything off of CL.
