OK, so now for the prize information that some of you might have been waiting eagerly for the details Cheesy

First a picture or 2 - click on the pictures to see bigger versions of them:

The pool has now mined 84 blocks (plus 1 orphan) since September!
As we approach the 100 mark, I thought it would be good to have a competition with a prize that many might find appealing.
Spondoolies-Tech http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/ will be supplying and shipping a 1.7TH/s SP20 (without a PSU, as shown in the image above) to the winner of the following competition:

The winner will be the next person who finds a block, with a single mining account or mining address with between 800GHs and 50THs, between now and the 110th valid pool block - i.e. the next 26 valid blocks.
If no one in the 800GHs to 50THs hash range finds a block by the 110th valid block, then instead, the last person, in that hash range 800GHs to 50THs, who submits the last valid share before valid block 110 is found, will be the winner.

Now, just in case we do find an orphan in that time, the orphan will also count as a winner, but orphans wont count towards the total blocks until we reach 110.

I will post the winning details here on the forum in this topic and you will also need to contact me via forum PM or IRC, within 48 hours of my winning announcement, otherwise we'll move on to the next possible winner.

The hash range is specific since I don't want 1,000 people mining with 10GHs joining just to win the SP20.
I'd prefer one person with 10THs Smiley
Also, anyone with over 50THs really isn't going to appreciate an extra 1.7THs as much as anyone in the range limit I've set.
Anyone in that range 800GHs to 50THs should certainly benefit well from getting the Spondoolies-Tech SP20 as a prize!

To find the last share if necessary: the pool itself has a complete log of all shares it receives so I just need to look for the last share date in the log file, fractions of a second before the date of the block message in the log file.

Oh also, ckolivas and I cannot win it of course Tongue

As I mentioned in an earlier post, you will have to supply an address that Spondoolies-Tech can ship it to.
It doesn't have to be your own address, but it has to be possible for them to ship to your chosen address.
If you cannot do this, then the prize will be awarded to the next in line who finds a block, or the owner of the previous to last share before the 110th block.

If you mine to an address, you'll need to sign a message with the winning address, to identify who is the contact to claim the prize.

If you don't want to supply contact details to ship it to, then the prize will be awarded to the next in line who finds a block, or the owner of the previous to last share.

One last important thing - my decision on the winner is final.
If there is any confusion or misunderstanding about how the winner is chosen, I retain the right to choose who the winner is in the event of any disagreement.

P.S. I'll add this to the Opening Post in this topic, and update both that and this post if any changes are required to the prize details.

1,886.06THs?    Undecided
It's likely only for a couple of hours. Someone's gambling with 2PH from here on solo pool.

Understood.
It's back already.

thanks. some people seem to have difficulty with (known) variables in simple algebraic expressions, so i'm trying to clear it up for them with tangible figures.  with the current pool hashrate it appears to be ~66.4 hours until people start receiving full payments. and if you quit this moment you'll receive your (diminishing) share % of any block found in the next 66 hours (at current pool hashrate)

If you are the type of miner that wants a transparent honest pool that pays very well where the developer actually is involved in the pool's thread and takes the time to read and answer posts then by all means mine here.

Good pool luck recently ... brace yourself ... this week should statistically be 'rocky'  Shocked

But then again, this pool always surprises  Grin

Actually, no it "shouldn't" be "anything" Smiley
The history of blocks has zero effect on future blocks found.

So the fact that we keep doing better than expected doesn't mean anything for the future.

Yes the last 42 blocks, we mined only ~80% of the shares expected to find those 42 blocks - which is very nice indeed Smiley
(that basically means that anyone who mined for all those 42 blocks should have been paid something like 125% * 99.1% of expected PPS)

Next, we may get a run of bad red blocks or a mix of red and green, more green, or maybe even hit one of the terrible bright red 800%+ blocks that are ever so rare Sad
It's random, and always will be.

let me ask this to hopefully clear up the question for people... the last 500% thing, is that in regards to the overall difficulty of 40,640,955,017. so essentially you're paying for a miner's share % over the last 203.xxx billion or so pool shares?
Yep

I've only been on a couple days with 2.1TH. I'm trying to understand the 500% thing.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.10108762

But basically, each share you get is paid (0, 1, or more times) in each block found 5N (500% Network difficulty) after you submit the share.
If every block was found at exactly 100%, then each share would be paid 5 times, 1/5 of the expected payout amount for that share.
It reaches full payment at that 500% point (and gets no more after that)

So, basically, your payout for each share is spread over time in the future (500% Network difficulty).

Once you have been mining for 5N (500% Network difficulty) each payout will have shares through the whole payout period approximating to your hash rate so each payout will match pretty closely to what you'd expect for your hash rate.

Once you stop, you still receive (decreasing) payouts for the blocks found in the 5N (500% Network difficulty) after you stopped
(Edit: as the remaining shares fall off the end of the 500% payouts)

Agreed, sic...

However, I don't think their English was very well.

That may be why they were ignorant of their payout being low the first time.
Well they'll get a surprise if they keep getting paid after they leave Smiley

I have only been on this pool for a few days, but based on the payouts I have been getting I ran some quick numbers.
My payouts are ranging between 0.014 BTC/TH/Day and .028 BTC/TH/Day. These are very rough number I know, especially for only a couple days.
I'm hoping when Kano gets the payouts working on the pool's site there will be a way to access them with the api and I can graph them on my monitor site (http://ckpoolmonitor.zachmonroe.com) and I'll be able to see a rolling average.

That would be the type on information that might help to keep people on the pool.
Show them that after several days the payouts will be higher.

I used to pick my pool by using http://poolpicker.eu/table?algo=sha-256
The best rate showing on there right now is 0.0125 BTC/TH/Day so I am definitely doing better than that on here.

sjc1490 for a second i thought it could've been then N in the payment  equation or something and i was even more confused than before. posting the payment links never hurts, because people always seem to struggle with the 500% thing.

Hey Kano,
Have you added support for AMT Prisma's and Tubes yet? I recall seeing something but don't want to bother Sidehack if they're not suppoted. For some reason I can't access them remotely.

Thanks
