1) remember that the "Hi" invalids effectively count as nothing - ignore them
e.g. 1 in 10 shares at 1,000 diff are expected to be 10,000+
so if you were supposed to send 10,000 diff shares, but incorrectly sending 1,000 diff shares, instead of getting rewarded 1000x10, you'll expect to get rewarded 10,000x1 out of each 10 ... i.e. the same expected reward

2) changing you diff makes no diff Smiley
You expect to get the same result
e.g. 50x4000 diff is the same as 40x5000 diff - you'd expect to 40x5000 diff shares in the same time you'd find 50x4000 diff shares
You CAN NOT adjust this to expect to get a better result - the actual result is random and you cannot see the future - and there is no way to predict it.
All valid points, of course. Thus, I'm taking you up on changing my perception of Hi Invalids and updating my Worker Management page back to 0s to let the pool decide my Work Diff from now on.

Thanks as always for the great explanations!

Edit: I must've picked good Work Diff #s since even after changing them back to 0, the pool is still sticking with the ones I had. Wink

Edit 2: LOL. The pool kept those numbers so long, I just changed it back to the Work Diffs I had for no other reason than I can easily see my accurate Invalid % at a glance rather than figure out what it is without the Hi Invalids due to any disconnect/reconnects. Old habits die hard I suppose.

FAKE NEWS!!!

Welcome to your first -1 Trust!
Good for you for following through on that -1 Trust. There's no need to be giving false alarms around here.

I understand that he may have meant it as a "half joke" but probably half jerk too... Wink

To any new members here, or anyone who hasn't, take this advice seriously:

Post your BTC address in the thread below. If you lose your account, and need to have the Admins retrieve it, this will be a VERY useful tool.

Stake your BTC address here:

Thanks for the great info! Didn't know about this feature for recovery if something bad happens.

Thanks once again. Unfortunately I couldn't find BTC address posted anywhere in my previous posts. I have staked my BTC address on your referred topic now. Hope it's alright and prevent me future hassles. Still would like to get my account back somehow but chances are quite low. Should I try send Admins PM or leave it?

You can try. But, don't hold your breath. The only way I've EVER gotten someone's account unlocked, is with the signed message. I personally had to do the dame thing, from the 2015 database leak. That was a pain for alot of people here, and still is for some.
Wish you luck!!!

Thank you mate. I already visited that link, but the problem is I don't remember if I ever posted my BTC address anywhere in this forum. Maybe exchanged it or some altcoin address in PM, but don't remember where or when? How can I get back my account if not having these details? Wish I knew it before to have it posted somewhere. I'll now include my BTC address here in this post just for future reference.

No problem. I'm happy to help. Find your profile in the member search. Then find the "last posts of this person", and check the posts for an address. Hopefully you can find one. Unfortunately, this may be your only way to try. I'm sure the Admins could ,technically find another way, but they won't bother with it. They are completely overwhelmed, with the amount of these situations, they are back logged.

Damn it, someone hacked my user account here and changed the email address. Had no further choice to get it locked instead of being misused by the hacker. So I would be known as this username for now, Kano username would be the old one named 1manshow. Anyway can I get my original account restored without providing BTC address? (as I didn't provided it earlier in my posts/profile) I can prove it as my account if Admins can verify it somehow.

Sorry for this offtopic, but this thread is the go to place where I posted mostly.  Embarrassed

You'll have to follow the directions in the link below. But--first--you'll need to see if you've posted your BTC address somewhere on the forum. They use a signed message from that address's wallet to verify ownership. I can tell you, you can get it back if you meet the criteria, but it could be weeks/months.

Be very careful with your email address and password in this forum. Never post or give either of them. If someone asks for your email address, for anything, never give them your "forum" email address, as it's probably a scam to get your account. Account selling is a MAJOR issue in bitcointalk. Hackers/Scammers use these accounts to make money from, campaigning, airdrops, merit sales, and general market place rip offs. Be Careful!!!

As long as they don't silently change your payout address on Kano.is ...

Almost 100 again, here's to multiple blocks for when I wake up tomorrow Smiley

Hi.

Question about the de-node.

Kano posted some info about the de-node a few pages back, but I can't find it now even though using search function.

I've used nl-node since understanding how to ping the nodes and noticed that the fastest ping for me (around 40 ms) has so far been with the nl-node. However since the change in the de-node i can't ping it anymore. I just get "timed out".

I don't have my miner (yes small miner with only one S9 so far) at home so I have to travel for a while to change the settings in the miner. Therefor don't changing them very often.

So far my failover pool has been my old pool. I'm going to put the de-node as my first failover, but would like to see it ping before that.

What am I doing wrong? I've used these commands in cmd:
"ping nl.kano.is" and "ping de.kano.is". nl showing around 40 ms and de showing time-out.

And thanks everyone for the blocks since my last post. Mine on!

I think there were DE node issues and Kano moved it (probably to AWS ? ) - ICMP ping is turned off for AWS servers as I understand
