Hi.

Question about the de-node.

Kano posted some info about the de-node a few pages back, but I can't find it now even though using search function.

I've used nl-node since understanding how to ping the nodes and noticed that the fastest ping for me (around 40 ms) has so far been with the nl-node. However since the change in the de-node i can't ping it anymore. I just get "timed out".

I don't have my miner (yes small miner with only one S9 so far) at home so I have to travel for a while to change the settings in the miner. Therefor don't changing them very often.

So far my failover pool has been my old pool. I'm going to put the de-node as my first failover, but would like to see it ping before that.

What am I doing wrong? I've used these commands in cmd:
"ping nl.kano.is" and "ping de.kano.is". nl showing around 40 ms and de showing time-out.

And thanks everyone for the blocks since my last post. Mine on!

I don't get why its 0 still, everything else is super high. Either I'm super lucky or its a fluke?

0 Invalids is a good thing. It just means you didn't happen to have any stale/rejected shares that shift.

On your worker page, you can click that checkbox to show the detail behind your invalids. Don't be alarmed if you have a lot of Hi Invalids if you just disconnected/reconnected since the last block.

Speaking of Hi Invalids, I've found that these can be minimized by setting a Work Diff number on the Worker Management page. That way as soon as that worker connects, the miner and the pool know what Diff work to send and receive (i.e. It avoids the miner sending 100 Diff work and the pool sending & expecting 1000 Diff work).
... and a few things:

1) remember that the "Hi" invalids effectively count as nothing - ignore them
e.g. 1 in 10 shares at 1,000 diff are expected to be 10,000+
so if you were supposed to send 10,000 diff shares, but incorrectly sending 1,000 diff shares, instead of getting rewarded 1000x10, you'll expect to get rewarded 10,000x1 out of each 10 ... i.e. the same expected reward

2) changing you diff makes no diff Smiley
You expect to get the same result
e.g. 50x4000 diff is the same as 40x5000 diff - you'd expect to 40x5000 diff shares in the same time you'd find 50x4000 diff shares
You CAN NOT adjust this to expect to get a better result - the actual result is random and you cannot see the future - and there is no way to predict it.

fwiw, I just noticed I had no Invalids during kosaki shift, as well. Hmmm.

Your a4wjz juvia shift had 9,448 (9.448k) shares accepted with an average difficulty of 11,355. My math becomes fuzzy here, because I assume an average rejected share diff of 11,355 (rejects could have had different values). Invalid Diff submitted was 156,240/11,355 Avg. Diff = ~13.7595 shares.

Edit:

That percentage is very good!

Edit: using the numbers from the shift just before the zero invalids shift (juvia), your invalid Diff translates to about 14 invalids for the shift, in addition to 9,448 valid shares accepted.

How did you calculate that?

Um, no, I didn't.

But on my machines that the pool's autodiff takes below 4098, I'll set it a few percent above what the pool says is good. Kano will tell you that, in the long run, it evens out. He is, of course, correct. On my machines, having the diff like that makes re-connects quicker and with low-to-no invalids at startup.

Thanks, I just edited mine to do the same. I just took mine off so its not posted twice Smiley

Your Invalids don't look terribly high. You just had a really good shift.
Invalids don't count against you. If you check "Show Details for Invalids" on your Workers page, you can tell what type of invalids you have, so you get an idea of where to start improving the situation, if you can.

Edit: using the numbers from the shift just before the zero invalids shift (juvia), your invalid Diff translates to about 14 invalids for the shift, in addition to 9,448 valid shares accepted.

No problem. It certainly looks odd. Hopefully Kano can take a look, and help you out. Goodluck!!!

I suck at forum posting, so if somebody could tell me how to post this image on here it would be appreciated. Below is the embedded portion if that helps anyone.

You need to get the picture link that has .jpeg .gif or .png on the end of it. Then you put it between the code below. Or press the picture button from the menu above your post.

Code:

Edit: here you go!

The Inv Diff column shows the Diff value of invalid shares that your miners submitted during that shift. 0 is a good thing.

As for not liking people posting about blocks ... I think my reply made it clear that I'm OK with it ... though avoid the excess.
