It might be a fluke, but I've noticed on our last few blocks, right before we hit, my invalid % goes down. Which it has in the last hour.

Might not be a fluke after all.......

running the same setup... debating on switching back to Kano's from ck's
I recently had a small amount there just to watch it tick up thru the ranks. Now, they'll be lucky if I failover that far...

P.S. - COME ON BTCLOX!!!

I have 3 Avalon 841 coming in march/April, anyone know of some hosting possibilities
Profits are so low right now....how can any "hosting service" be profitable for the unit owner???

I run a small hosting gig for friends. I have 17 S9's hosted. I found a few places to mine that was producing 200-300% daily take.

I take 25% of the net after power is paid.

If btc goes any lower the machines will have to be turned off for a bit unless the customers want to pay their power in cash.

All of them are very long on BTC, plan on holding for years, so my guess is a few of them will probably want to pay it in cash.

Is it a gamble? sure. I'm long on BTC too, so I'm doing the same thing with my reward.
Can you explain the calculations on the " 200-300% " take? I don't understand that. In my accounting, there is no GPM until my hardware and infrastructure are paid off. A fully functional S9 today as a new purchase based on Bitmain price is around $2500 after cost shipping taxes infrastructure rig up etc. The S9 only makes $5.50 PD after .085 Kwh or $165.00 pm. 15.15 months to any GPM. If you're coughing any of that up to a host you're doubly screwed.

based on whattomine's calculations for btc. sorry, should have mentioned that.

Looks like the pool hash rate is still growing...and making the ramp shorter Cheesy
Yeah I was just discussing the 5Nd with someone in IRC then noticed it's now down to about 11.5 days at the hash rate at the moment Smiley

if someone gets to 11 days and gets 5nd then hash goes out the window and the time goes up to 20 days do they lose that again ?
5Nd is always 5Nd of shares submitted to the pool.
The time is just a calculation based on the pool hash rate when you do the calculation.

If you are half way through your 5Nd ramp - i.e. it's been 2.5Nd since you started mining, then you still have 2.5Nd to go no matter what the pool hash rate is - but if the pool hash rate has increased, then the amount of time for the remaining 2.5Nd will have decreased.

Edit: though, probably more related to your question: if you have an outage of time X hrs, then you have ramped down X hrs - but alas that's not really what's happened, you've really ramped down some fraction of 5Nd and must ramp back up that same fraction of 5Nd.

If the pool hash rate is pretty steady then the ramp down of X hrs should take about X hrs to ramp back up again.

If the pool hash rate increases, then the ramp down of X hrs will take less than X hrs to ramp back up again.
If the pool hash rate falls, then the ramp down of X hrs will take longer than X hrs to ramp back up again.

In all cases, it's of course a maximum of 5Nd.

Come on BLOCK SATURDAY! Cheesy
Agreed!!!

if yer looking for cheep hydro canada is best u can go now at .1 per alot of american hydro is coming from here anyway yer jst paying middle men and your goverments silly surcharges to keep u from geting a good deal of corse

Colocation, is a little bit more, than just cheap electricity. You also have to take into account, trust and technical experience.

Trust: How reputable is the company? Are they a registered business? Can they verify? Will they scam you? Are they in a secure facility, and how is it policed?

Technical Experience: What do they use/know about a secure network? Do they handle preventative maintenance on their facility,
or do they outsource? Can they provide remote monitoring access to your miners? Will/can they "handle" troubleshooting for your miners if problems arise?

ETC.....

well trust depends on the person but in general Canadians are smarter and more trust worthy Cheesy perhaps a little more lazy but thats cause our weed and beer are better Cheesy

i think we are late on this block grr

i know i may seem dumb but what is this hostng u speek of ?
You send your miner to a "host"
You get the mining proceeds minus whatever they charge

You don't have to worry about burning your house down when you overload your electrical panel and now matter how hard I try I can't hear a peep out of my machines that are 2500 miles away!  Cheesy

Also, in my case the host fees I pay is cheaper than what I was paying in electricity at my home when I was running them here. Smiley

I'm interested in colocation as well. Who are you with? and what's the per month?

The only time i looked was with a company in canada that wanted 139 a machine, which far beats the 188 a machine i pay in power right now.

I'm with Toomim Bros in Washington and they are $65 USD per kW per Month if you pay for 12 months at a time with higher rates if you want to less lead time.  That works out to about $95 USD per machine per month.  They have been at max capacity for many months now and are not taking any new machines or new customers.  I've been with them for 3 years and all I can do is swap out my S7s with the more efficient machines that are available these days. I'm about done with that phase of my upgrades.
