Mine ON!!!
I like all the different explanations. It’s actually making a lot more sense to me.
I wonder if anyone has a visual or graphical explanation as well

vertical bar is pay time
=  is the period of times that the paybot looks at to see what your shars are of the pay
0   is where u are mining
*   paybot on the time line

   |-----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----| time lines

pay 1   |-----*----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|  (start)
            0000
            ===

pay 2   |-----|----*----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|    (ramp up the bot looks back 5 sections u only working 2)
           0000 0000
           === ===

pay 5   |-----|----|----|----|----*----|----|----|----|----|----|----|----|    (you stop mining here)
           0000 0000 000 000 000
           === === === == ==

pay 7   |-----|----|----|----|----|----|----*----|----|----|----|----|----|    (ramping down u are only payed for 3 sections here cause you stoped at section 5)(3 more paydays and you will stop getting paid ! )
           0000 000 000 000  000
                          === == == === ==

As long as your errors are less than the pool average (look at the top left of every web page) you have nothing to worry about.  The Workers page on Kano just reports errors more accurately that other pools. Grin

HW errors are unique to your machine.  Sometimes miners generate more HW errors than other times.  It can be related to temps or simply the wear and tear of the chips themselves.  Sometimes I can reboot a miner and it will start up with a ton of errors...other times the same machine will boot up with zero errors.

I noticed this, this past week. I lost power twice. The first time, the miners rebooted with no errors. The second time, they ran in
30°f temps without hashing, just cold air blowing through them. Needless to say, the number of errors are much higher. It took
about 3hrs to get consistent speeds.

Carl, aka Sonny :)
i have a rookie question? why dose kanopool reject like ten times more then btc.com ? in last 24h on kano i got 11 rejected and 886 hw errors. 24 h on btc.com had 1 reject and like 90 errors :/

HW errors have to do with your miner.  As for the rejects, it's different with each pool on the work being supplied to the miners.

jst curious as to why so many more errors since i switched to kano. is kano pool somehow harder on the machine or something ?
There are 3 things about rejects:
1) Long term, it depends on how close you are to the node you are mining to
  see the first post to find a closer node if you are not close to the main node
2) They're random so you may get a run of rejects and then not many.
 aside: it could also be when you first connect you get a bunch of "hi" rejects caused by your miner
    click on the "Show Details for Invalids:" check box on the Workers->Workers page to see what the rejects are.
3) 11 stales in 24 hours is actually very good.
 Over 24 hours there's about 144 work changes, so that means if they are all stale, you are averaging only one stale per 13 work changes or about 1 every 2 hours.
  However, certain old versions of Bitmain miners throw away stale shares and don't send them to the pool even though they should.
  This can include stale blocks that we can on rare occasions turn into 2 blocks ... ... ... ... ...

Errors are the miner's fault, not the pool Smiley

Since I cannot use hotmail I used my personal website
e-mail. I cannot add bitcoin payout address without
verifying your e-mail first.

However I got e-mail when I put bitcoin payout address.

So I don´t know if your service communications are reliable or not.
Also check you didn't mistype your email address Smiley
I see that every so often.

7nm and even 10nm are still a pipe dream. They can't get them to work and if they do, they will be too expensive to put into miners en masse. And in any case, we know that Bitmain will mine with them for a few months before launching to the common rabble.

There is a long time between production of the chips and miners available for sale.  S9's will make a reasonable stepping stone during that year.

With the price of BTC being lower, and the anticipation of new chip design/releases, the price of the S9 has dropped. They are
also more readily available from bitmain. With Canaan releases coming up, and a few speculative machines, I'd expect the price
of the S9 to drop further. Still a good time to get some.

Just put both my S4's on ebay. Going to upgrade. With that and my fluke meter, I might get close enough to 2 S9's  the balance from my pocket.

dont rush into s9's the new chip will be out soon and there will be a whole new level to move too.

I assume you are referring to the dragonmint?

nope those are jst more powerful type of s9 with 16nm chips.

7nm chips are out by end of year a number of companies will be throwing new asics on the market with them. jst one news article on the topic  https://news.bitcoin.com/7nm-asics-will-bring-bitcoin-mining-to-a-whole-new-level/

10nm comes first, 7nm are still a few years off.

that's not what the corporation that is making them said but again im not a pro so who knows for sure what will happen but all the articles i read say 7nm is on its way and a number of main stream corporations are looking to jump on the asic band wagon with them. even american corporations.

bitcoin miners are farther down the list for those chips.
