Decided to sell my fluke meter and buy an S9 with it. Put it on ebay and had 2 offers in 10 minutes. woohoo! S9 come to papa.
Hope ya didn't need it for your job! Grin

No. I have not used it in 2 years.  I have another fluke that I actually use. This one is too big to carry.

When I get time, I'll go through the list of usernames that dropped off and check them closely - it's pretty easy to tell when someone is doing that, if you already suspect it.
(and ban their accounts and IP addresses and payouts)
I have the user count per minute if you need it Kano (not sure if you archive that or not).  Looks like the change was during the hour starting 2018-02-23 23:00:05 UTC/GMT we had a high user count of 1425 and a low of 1156.  That would be the time to focus your attention.  If you need more granular info, pm me.
Smiley I have the logs of *everything* that happens on the pool over all time Smiley
Currently it's around 400-450TB uncompressed (about 24TB compressed)

Help:

Just switched phones - copied everything over to the new Android - FreeOTP included... However, my Kano (and all other) 2FA tokens did not.

I have my API QR & Key - anyway to reclaim or reset my 2FA.

Copied ALL of the phone's Android files onto Hard disk, but did not specifically back-up FreeOTP.

Anyone have any thoughts?
The easiest fix, if you still have the old phone, is to disable 2FA with the old phone, then setup 2FA on the new phone.

If you have the secret key (as the web page tells you to save it) you can setup 2FA on the new phone either by:
1) Re-scanning the copied QRCode if you saved it that way
or
2) To manually set it all up - tap on the key+ symbol at the top, then:
enter Kano for the first field (it doesn't affect the 2FA number)
enter your username for the 2nd field (it doesn't affect the 2FA number)
you have to type in the long saved secret key in the "Secret" field
the rest of the fields, you only need to change "Algorithm" to SHA256
those fields should be: Type: TOTP, Digits: 6, Algorithm: SHA256, Interval: 30
 then tap on "Add"

Yeah I saved and printed the API QR code thinking it was the 2FA... oh well.  But thank you for the answer.

I noticed a pretty big drop in the number of members, and hashrate today. Does anyone know, if it was a bunch of smaller miners
or a big player?
Some of the proxies are pretty bad handling that (ckpool proxy included)
They don't always switch back automatically.
Though I think ckpool proxy got fixed after people complained about it for something like a year ... though they'd of course have to upgrade their setup.

The other possibility is that they were hiding using rentals through a proxy and rentals usually drop off after a reconnect.

Interesting... I didn't notice that 300 users drop-off, but they must've been small since the pool graph looks like we've almost recovered from the recent restart and failover--not blaming anything on that, per se, so don't take that wrong.

One thing I've wondered but not been able to prove is that when these restarts take place that some less committed, shall we say, miners just stay at their failover pools and/or try somewhere else for a while. I'm not saying that makes sense because they would obviously ramp down once they've left and have to ramp back up once they rejoin. Maybe they just consider any ramp-down payouts as a bonus to the daily crumbs, er, payouts they left for anyway.

Good idea, I'd volunteer for this but currently a bit pressed for time, maybe I can get around to it next week- I do have a twitter page @PlattsburghBTC that gives some basic stats/mentions Kano CK and other...things. I can change it to mention the twitter account if anyone beats me to it haha.

i took the liberty of creating a facebook page and group for Kano. i hope Kanosan does not mind
social media needs to know about this pool
https://www.facebook.com/kanopool/

mine on!!!

You might, or someone else, consider starting a Twitter page too. Twitter has ALOT more going on in the world of Bitcoin.
The groups on Facebook, are pretty much littered with the spammers, that get banned here! Hahaha!

911 IT Admin. I keep 911 up so you get help ASAP!
So I have a question, did something happen at 12:59:32 UTC time on the 23'rd? For some reason, I dropped about 10TH and I noticed one of my S9's was only dishing out around 4TH. I finally noticed and rebooted this day and it looks like it is climbing back up. I did get an email saying my hash was low this morning, that's what gave me an inclination something was up.
See restart message from Kano here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.30936228

Funny thing is I was aware of the restart and still started to scramble when I heard it cutoff since I still don't have a 3rd pool configured.

Ah OK, weird that it was hashing at 4.5Th instead of the normal 14Th. I have three pools set as failovers but I guess it didn't like something.

Call 811 before you dig
phyllonomath is a troll and idiot.  What he says is unimportant, and we don't hear him.  Ignore the troll, and for pete's sake don't quote him for those of us who already ignore him!  Cheesy

The only reason I quoted it was that it was (for him) brief.

There was a very short failover - fail back on the NYA node at 17:36 UTC
Miners on the NYA node have all reconnected and are failing back.
(no other nodes were affected)

Quote: "Everyone gets rewarded fairly for the work they did on each block found, that's the point of this pool."

BULLSHIT ...I mined with near 200th for over a week ....worked  from 0 -133% on the block before bailing out.

ALL THAT WORK GOT ZERO FCKING REWARD.... I would have made $225 a day at BTC.com so I lost over  2k in income

Hurry up and delete the truth..we can't allow it
Lulz - of course anyone can see quite simply that you are lying.
133% was never more than a week.
... and you wonder why I delete the lies you post ...

The 596.203% block started on 2018‑01‑22 03:00:33 UTC and finished on 2018‑02‑09 20:11:09 UTC

Total about 18 days 17 hours. 133/600 of that is about 4 days and 4 hours.

The only part of that block that didn't get any reward was the first 96%

So there are 2 blatantly obvious lies in your post. The 133% and the Zero reward.
Who knows what else you lied about ... so what's your account?

...He even had a cool count down timer in the message on the web site Smiley...
That was probably the coolest part. I hope he continues that feature.
Heh - yeah I added that a long time ago - I just forgot to use it for the previous planned short outage Smiley
