Well those last few blocks that we did hit were very small...so this is evening it out. Luck aside, the next block should be much "better" than this one.

ramp question, is it centered around username, or worker name?

I'm trying to help a friend out who's miners are down, and if I move some of mine over to his username will that keep his ramp up? I don't know and haven't heard from him what his worker name is so I figured I'd check and see what the ramp is centered around?

The answer is "what ever fits into your comfort level", pure and simple. I'm fine with it.

Been here for years, variance will be high with 50Ph, but I see the issue as lost fees, for a while we had crazy high transaction fees (3-9 BTC Fees) so not finding blocks during those times hurts overall rewards. In the end its always 100% but missing bocks at those crazy high fee times hurts...

Perhaps a better question is (aside from when the pool was brand new) has variability ever been this high? By my reckoning, a 100% block would take 2.8 days right now - not sure if that's the best way to measure variability, but it seems to work.

The trouble with high variability is that when we starting mining this block, network difficulty was at 2,227B - it has now gone up past 2,603B and is now at 2,874B and we still haven't found a block - I don't know how the math works on that, but it's got to mess with your profitability - intuition tells me that for everything to work out properly, we have to at least be finding some blocks at every difficulty level...

Is there any indication that variability will improve? Are we doing anything to attract miners?

Usually it was like that, if a bunch of blocks found in a short period of time like it was the last month, after that we didn’t find blocks for a long time. But 420 hours is getting kind of ridiculous to tell you the truth. Did the difficulty jump another 20% or so? I haven’t been keeping up with it lately. Huh

So are all the controller boards for S9's the same? I see several listed on Ebay...

Is there any difference in the 13.5 board than any others or are they all the same?

They seem to be little different on some of my S9’s but if you purchase them on Aliexpress they are for all models, starting from 11.89TH and up to 14Th. Here is a link for you my friend of a seller that I’ve personally purchased from several of these, twice. All received within a week shipped by DHL, trusted seller. All worked perfect for me and I still have a couple left just in case for future problems.

. So I suggest you buy at least one extra so if something goes wrong with another miner you don’t have to wait a week next time. Good investment since you don’t want for your workers to just sit for a week.
