I guess I might get a quick answer from this forum. My question is whether/when/how to pay tax on mined BTC. IRS requires tax for any gain even from garage sales.

Please tell me this guy who was submitting non valid shares did not get paid for this?  Ie as part of the pool finding blocks.

If he did, please let all the hackers know his IP address. :-P

No - invalid shares mean they aren't valid i.e. no reward Smiley
The IP is at the University - which is now completely blocked.

...
what a putz, that's cool you figured it out. What was the pivotal discovery?
...
Well it was just a case of tracking back the error message to the miner that was causing it.
Though I wont go into details of the actual code change he did Tongue

Well, his efforts provided you with an opportunity to strengthen the software.

Had to restart KanoDB urgently - an issue with the share checking getting bad results.

No effect on mining at all.

KDB restart will complete in a few minutes.
Had to restart it again.
There's a problem with the data the ckpool is sending to KanoDB - corrupt share diff values (it's reporting them also)
Would seem that someone has found a way to make ckpool screw up Tongue
KDB was reporting every single one of them and thus truck loads of messages on the console.
I had to stop those messages, so now it's all ok again once this 2nd restart completes.

Again: No effect on mining at all.

KDB restart will complete in a few minutes.
I found who was causing the problem.
Someone thought it would be a good idea to edit that crappy miner that stole the name I came up with ... bfgminer ... and they hacked up their reply to the pool to always return crap.
Their IP is now banned forever from every server and their account closed since they've been doing this for a while it would seem ... never having actually submitted a single valid share in 1.5 months.

Little question:

My 140TH brings in about 0.022BTC a day on most pools I have joined. I know how things work on KanoPool in general, BUT in coin terms on a day to day basis, over say a monthly term, what would the difference be with all things even please?

Worse, same  or better?

Thanks Paul Smiley

I'm pushing about 150TH/s and my BTC/day/TH was 0.00021122 for December.  That would be about 0.02957080 per day for 140TH/s.

I'd say better here.  Getting the transaction fees and the lower pool fees makes a difference. Smiley

Holding constant for luck, slightly better as fees are 0.9% here and Kano pays out transaction fees with the block reward.

the transaction fees being paid out is a big deal.

Hmm well ... that's a little unexpected ... anyone know who happens to have a spare 500THs laying around and pointed it at my Kano account?
It's actually from nicehash in texas and it's been going for a few hours ...
As mentioned before, I'm not keen on rentals at all, so I'm wondering what this is ...
They stopped a couple hours ago Smiley

Not sure what to make of it:

you have to see the screenshot to make it out.

chuckle, feel sad or be suspicious.
maybe a tiny mix of all three.

chuckle, if you don't know what the hell you're doing...you shouldn't be renting hash.

Why would anyone use nicehash at this pool or rent 500th then point it here makes no sense at all.

Kano did say he was trying to get higher in the rankings.  I guess someone decided to help him?
