Wow!  What happened to like 20PH...? Huh
Hi, there was a DNS problem for a while. Resolved now.

Although I have 4 DNS servers with 4 different providers, they all slave off a "hidden" master Amazon AWS server.
Unfortunately something has gone wrong with the AWS server - it reports on amazon as 100% ok but I can't connect to it (even after rebooting) and thus of course the DNS slaves can't talk to it either.

I've rerouted the DNS for now and all should be OK again.
Now to work out what's up with the AWS server ...

I've been having DNS issues on off yesterday all day.  I use L3 as my primary and OpenDNS as secondary.

https://kano.is results in "server DNS address could not be found" in Chrome from my tablet and phone from Washington,  DC metro area in the past 10 mins.

Anyone else experiencing the same?

EDIT: Mining seems unaffected.

I'm also seeing this.

No problem for me, perhaps a localised issue.

I am looking at this page https://btc.com/stats/pool?pool_mode=month3
Kano CK's transaction fee is 20%+ higher than the other pools.
I wonder why there is no Kano pool August data yet.

Someone just got a solo block! Lucky ducks!
What would be a solo block and how does it work?

They mine on "A Solo Pool" solo. So when they get a block they get 99% of the block! Which is like $52,000 give or take...
Yeah higher fees than here, and they expect a tip on top of the higher fee ...

LOL. I get where FuzzyWarm is coming from - to an extent. But I also get where you're coming from too and also happen to believe we are a nice little community of miners here who like to chat on occasion with each other. And that's just fine with me.  Cool

My thoughts are as long as it is about our pool in some way and has some interest to our fellow miners, it's no big deal. That is one thing - among many - that sets our pool apart from the other dozens of pools out there. It is also something I like very much about this pool in that we actually talk to each other and try to help each other out with info / knowledge when we can.

So, before I get yelled at  Grin Grin Grin ...

This might go in the Psychology thread, but do you have OCD? Cause you keep wanting people to post in totally different threads for stuff and while I would agree, to a point, the people that mine in this pool and post on this thread also think of this thread as a community. So tossing posts up in totally different threads when discussing hardware they want to purchase, or have purchased, to mine in this pool is a little unrealistic. Just curious. That and getting upset when more than four lines of text are posted also seems to be out of your Fuzzy Warm Zone Smiley

That being said, my second s9 did have an issue with heat and I was going to send it back for repair but it corrected itself. I think it had some thermal paste issue and once it warmed up it got better chip coverage and reduced the heat. Now it mines just fine for this pool.

Bad form discussing other pools here.  Especially that one.

Yeah probably. I thought Kano ran that one as well? It's usually where old hardware goes to die I thought.

-ck  and kano  are no longer a team, they had a falling out about a year or so ago

I understand, I saw the notification in the ckpool app and I was curious, thanks for the explanation.

Sorry for the others for diverting the subject from the topic.

yep, that's the 13.5Th with August delivery.

Waiting for 2 14th in November (BTC please stay alive and high!)

I was hoping I could grab one from this last pre-order, but they are all sold out, again. Arg!

I keep refreshing the page. Managed to get some (self financing) from BTC only. Been running on T9s non stop (seriously, non stop at 21 deg room temp) since launch date with no issues at all. I wonder if the S9s will not cause any issues too (never had an S9 before).
Belongs in the Bitmain s9 thread....
That said, the s9 is a roll of the dice. Generally reliable but many folks have had problems. Again - perhaps read the s9 thread? The T9 was made to address the s9 reliability issues and so far Bitmain succeeded in that there are few to no reported problems with the T9's.
