even if the value of eth is getting lower and lower, at least you could just hold it long term, with this merging, the high gas fee could gets solved in the future, this means brighter future for eth in general. I think if you could just hold it long term it will become beneficial for you, after all even if you make a sell off after the merge it doesn't affect that much because even the value fluctuation isn't that great and it could very well be only just short term.

The merge process has been completed and successful, but the market is still red and of course this will not have a direct impact, the merge process is a different thing so that it will not directly affect the market, but this will be the beginning of the revival of ETH to be better than before
At least OP got free coin if he was still holding his ethereum during the fork. The only problem is due to the bearish market and the price of his coin might be fallen as well. My main concern when seeing the price of ethereum dropping from above 1500 to the around 1300 in a short time.
I know that his fork coin may not even worth compared with his lose. That's it

I think he has nothing to lose if he doesn't sell his ethereum, the price drop is happening all over the market and compared to $1k5 to $1k3 is a not so huge drop. This is a good average to buy and hold ethereum for the long term so OP need not worry. Along with getting free ETHW, a coin that I believe will increase in price in the future, not a useless coin, look at TVL on the very well growing ETHW ecosystem. I find holding eth in a merger to be a better return than buying and selling eth in the short term.

unfortunately majority of the ones that invested eth are instead making the eth losing its value right when the anticipated event is occuring. I guess the rumour of the event is already making the value goes too high that finally it follows the trend of btc again, that is corrections which make the value of eth decreasing instead. I think the next bullrun for eth will be when the btc trend changes.

The revival will need the bullish trend. Ethereum without bullish trend was nothing. This is the fact. People are only focusing with update without even care with what happened with the market. The bearish trend is far stronger compared with the hype in ethereum. No bullish trend means no pump while crypto is actually pegged with the crypto pump. that's it

Crypto always likes to surprise. It seems to me that in any sensible thought, a merge would raise ethereum. But again, the opposite happened and left people confused. There are always things that we don't expect.

If you look at the current market conditions, I suggest to keep, I'm sure the market is immediately rising and we can profit again, the most common investor mistake is panic when you see the red market. We recommend that you use it for staking so that we can earning additional while waiting for the market to recover.

Storing eth is a profitable thing, regardless of the merger, the price of Eth remains high and is a great vehicle for long-term investment.  So in my opinion, whether or not the price of Eth is high or not depends on the price of btc. Just like any other alt, although eth itself has a different technology from btc.

At least make anticipation for everything, even though in your mind it will be in your favor, on the other hand we also think about the unexpected, because we are still in a bear market that possibility could be detrimental to us, at least take a quick decision because it is the risk we will accept if we go wrong.

We should always expect the unexpected when it comes to crypto prices even after huge events because the possibilities are too unpredictable. Ethereum usually goes along with the price of Bitcoin and since we're in the bearish season, its price won't strike high. We could feel the effect of the merge when the market recovers and gets back to normal. However, it's still a good move to buy and accumulate more Ethereum because it will always be worth holding for the long-term run.

If you are still thinking merge can give a significant impact to the ethereum and i think that you must also think again if we are still in the bearish market. Any good news will still give bad impact to the price of coin no matter what happened with it. So many ethereum believers have been expecting the big thing after merge but they are also getting surprised to see the price of ethereum has been going down drastically.

The merger has been completed no major changes have occurred in the price. Better to hold on to it now, ethereum still has good potential for the future and now they are using POS it feels better than ever even gas costs have started to drop this proves that ethereum cares enough about its community.

I don't think gas cost has something to do with the merge. Even before the event, gas fee were already cheap since eth network is not congested anymore. Also the hype of NFTs was gone which is a big contributing factor why gas fee reached to more than 100$ last year.

If it was me, I would sell half of my ETH assets now because there is a high chance that bitcoin will drop more in the coming months which will cause other altcoins to also decline.

It is fun if we get a surprise because the price skyrocketed, but since a year when I wake up and see the market, it is like anger because the market has not recovered until now, maybe this is the impact of inflation that makes investors sell assets even at low prices.

Keep or sell ethereum before the merge?

I've made some researches and found plenty of rumors saying that ethereum will dump after the merge and why's that? (short term)
I suggest you to sell your 50% of your total balance and keep holding rest amount for the Ethereum merge. no one know actually after merge price will dump or pump after merge but you can sell your half in profit and keep holding the rest . then if the price dump after merge it will minimize your main balance and you will not face any big losses

Those who sold their Ethereum before Merge won. They now have the opportunity to purchase more Ethereum. If the Bitcoin price drops, it is impossible to find an altcoin that can resist it. If the Bitcoin price drops, everything adapts to it. Ethereum cannot act independently in this system. That's why Ethereum faced a normal result. Footnote: Ethereum is currently trading at $1300. Before Merge, it was trading at $2000.

Not sure if he had sold actually. He is trading in the wrong pair as in his recent post, he is trading in ETH/BTC. Quite rare.

But the price surged before the merge though. There are always 2 ways how to react to what goes on with the price right now, either sell because you think the price is going to sink deeper or buy more because it's time to invest.

There are many opinions with regard to how they will react with the merged that take place.

But long-term wise ETH is always a good project to store and if you have spare money instead of selling, it is okay to buy
and add more into your hold assets. The temporary market movements are just another regular thing that happens around the
market and the long-term event when bull start to rise back will be profitable still.

We will see later when the market is bullish because as you said the market is still bearish so far,
we have to be patient to see Ethereum rise,
What is clear is that the merger will have a positive impact later
