Keep or sell ethereum before the merge?

I've made some researches and found plenty of rumors saying that ethereum will dump after the merge and why's that? (short term)

These are just rumors and often rumors are created to FUD the market, to trick weak hands into selling their holdings.  If I were you, I'll just stay put. At the current market situation, ETH is doing good, the hype of the merge is really strong plus the possibility of free fork money is there.  So selling it right now is just a waste of opportunity to get a good profit from this memorable event of ETH.

Rumors, it could be that they just spread the news for the purpose to buying ethereum at low price. If you believe like a long term holder then you will not be a panic, but if you are a trader who takes profit every month or short time, you must be a real trader who takes profits. Sell 60% your ethereum when you're already profit isn't bad either, and the remaining 40% you can hold for later who knows the price will increase and not decrease.

Now there is a lot of speculative news about the near future of ethereum. Negative scenarios of course pop up much more often, but eth is not reacting to them much so far, holding the price at $1,500. There is an opinion that those who want to enter Ethereum 2.0 staking want to knock down the price of ETH in order to buy it profitably. These are the times that you shouldn't be guided by the news, because most of them are true FUD. If you have strong conviction and strong hands, you will continue to hold ETH despite the news noise.

You need to choose for yourself. But if I were you, I would not sell my ethereum instead of waiting for the merge and seeing what will happen later. Right now, ethereum price is really low, and I do not want to sell it because I am sure the ethereum price can return to a higher price soon. And if, after the merge, ethereum has more attention from the investor, I am sure slowly the price will increase. Well, you need to research by yourself to decide so you do not have to regret it later.

I hope it will be as simple as the old rule of trading 101, 'buy the rumors sell the news'. But for ETH I don't think it will be that simple, for me I dare to say that I believe in ETH and I invest long term in it, so I won't sell it (at least until it goes mainstream adoption). If you want to speculate on the merge whether it will make the price go down or go up, I suggest that you should be ready to lose some money, if the merge happened and turns out it upset some people then the price will go down, if its the opposite then it's good, but most of the time, there will be more people upset than satisfied of some huge change.
I think there are also many people who believe in ethereum after bitcoin, this is also the basis for me to keep holding on to ethereum. I don't know what will happen later, but aren't we here to manage risk, so we must be prepared for any situation, including the current bearish season. on the other hand I still have diversified assets so I think I will remain calm in the face of volatility that will occur later.

the rumors circulating are just FOMO made for a specific purpose.
it is impossible that after the merger of Ethereum it will just be thrown away because the merger of Ethereum is a good project, it will actually make more enthusiasts and investors who will enter Ethereum.
I personally prefer to increase the number of Ethereum assets that I hold before the merger is carried out and keep it until it actually reaches the highest targeted ATH because Ethereum is a coin with long-term prospects besides Bitcoin.

There's no definite answer for this. It could be wrong or it could be right.

IMO, I will keep it. I mean, I have been keeping it long so why withdraw now? We don't know where it will go after the merge, it could be a dump or it could be a pump. There's also a chance it won't even move at all because most of us are thinking the same thing as just doing nothing at all.
Although. if what will happen does look good for many new investors then we may see a positive reaction in the market.

I think keep is good, don't worry about the performance of ethereum which has proven to be the second strongest coin in almost 8 years, I'm sure there will be nothing big that can make ETH dump, even I continue to monitor the price to buy before the merge.
If he wanted to hold for Long term then obviously keeping us good and if it goes down it's another opportunity to increase number if Ethereum.
If any body want to hold for short term then it will be little Risky here because there is chances of BTC to go down below 15k which will also put bad impact in on the price of Ethereum and we may seen Ethereum below 1k.
That is the truth. If any dependent coin is to be trusted after BTC then Ethereum will be the first. So that you can believe the highest. Because we have seen this in the past several years. The biggest thing is Ethereum continues its development. It is hoped that they will be able to further develop by adopting better technology which will always indicate the positive attitude.

It's stable on its rank and that's why it's good to keep it. I've dumped many of the ETHs that I've got during and before the ATH but that's because that I need to do it now, with the remaining that I have, I'll make sure that I still have a few to hold after the merge.
I'm bullish no matter what the result of the merge is because ETH has shown its greatness for the past years and it's unlikely to change and I guess will remain on its 2nd place for the next years.

There has been a stir in the entire crypto industry regarding the merge of Ethereum. When the news of the merge of Ethereum came, the price of Ethereum had crossed two thousand dollars. Ethereum is a very strong coin. The stakeholders of Ethereum also know and  Believes that when Ethereum merge, a lot of pumps can be seen on that day.And when Ethereum gets a pump, it will push the rest of the market up as well, because those who bought into Ethereum have a good chance that the price of Ethereum will go up.So selling Ethereum before this time merge will not be a good decision.  should wait for September 15th and not sell Ethereum before the merge.Because there is a chance of high volatility in the market that day۔

Personally, I think that the Ethereum coin is very promising and I have not heard about the merger of this coin. At the moment, the Ethereum coin is very relevant and will bring excellent profits to many investors in the near future. I think that soon everything will be restored and will work as usual. And all coins will be claimed. I can only say when everything stands still, many users panic in order to somehow influence the market.

Well, probably that because the market is currently still in bear condition when we got our bulls market don't regret when you're not investing on Ethereum early on. don't be afraid because someone spread FUD just trust yourself if you have a proper strategy and mentality. If that's me I will keep my Ethereum and now I'm still keeping my Ethereum.

Are you a trader or a long-term holder? if you hold long then dumping will happen, I think it won't affect you. 2 months ago we saw ethereum drop below $1000 and then go up to $2k but unfortunately we were in a bear market so it couldn't hold 2k then dropped to 1500. This is the price I think is quite good to collect more than to sell. Don't think about short term drop, that's normal. Think about what you will get if you hold it for a long time, its value will be many times greater than when you hold it.

I also like to ask, If Binance is worried about the merger, we should also be.
1. So where is it safe to keep ones ethereum before the merger?
2. Asides the ethereum token wont the blockchain also be affected if the coin is affected by the merge?
3. How many exchange had shown concern since the binance announcement of temporary inability to withdraw around the merge date?

Keep or sell ethereum before the merge?

What is the reason, and what do you research with it? Don't just give your opinion vaguely and spread it everywhere; it's not appropriate for people to see how well you understand it. Just a rant from you. I'm not too knowledgeable about price analysis, but I do understand the potential value that ETH has in this market. Since going through the various phases of ETH, I am in a better position to own ETH and can look at the long term as well as the short term. At the moment, I always feel I have made great profits. much with it.

What really do we expect from the merge that makes us even worried? I think there is nothing...and I'm not sure if dumps really happen - it was just a sort of market speculations and FUDs in order to create panic. Maybe weak hands will think about the negative and do the selling but for those who have faith with EThereum, that is something be ignored and keep holding.
Holding is still the best option if we aim for a better and higher price unless you don't have the plan.

Don't listen too much to what other people say, be yourself with strong principles, for me people who say ETH will fall after merging just want to have ETH at a cheap price. whatever decision we choose, we ourselves bear it.

I suggest to split your holdings, Keep a part of your holdings that you are willing to risk and take profit some just to make sure you are safe and minimize your risk what ever happened to the price. Right now holding Ethereum is a gamble because just like you, Many traders is just speculating whatever you are thinking and this the reason why the price is unpredictable right now. There’s a chance that Ethereum will really dump after the merge including the crypto market because that hype news start this minor crypto recovery. Everything might fall apart or there will be a massive fomo buy after the merger finish.

Good answer.

I staked some eth as pos.
I am holding some eth for the fork.
Lastly I sold some eth  to play it safe.
My thoughts are maybe there will be a last minute delay for 300,000 more blocks.

whatever happens next will be really exciting. I am looking forward to see it unfold this month. Or maybe in dec at the end of the year.

I am pulling for one more delay as I have quite a bit of gpus mining eth as I type. I kept grabbing gpus time and time again in fact I just set one more gpu up today.

Keep or sell ethereum before the merge?

I've made some researches and found plenty of rumors saying that ethereum will dump after the merge and why's that?

I looked at the chart and I don't think this coin will go below $900 unless the black swan comes. I don't know where the bottom is, but I bought in July for $1,100.
Ethereum is an ecosystem coin and worth keeping in a portfolio, but there are no guarantees in the crypto market, so the best choice would be to diversify your investment into 5-7 different coins.

Ethereum is still the best altcoin and it is highly recommended to always be in our portfolio list. That's because in addition to Ethereum's
strong fundamentals, Ethereum can also provide satisfactory profits if we are patient holding Ethereum  in the long term. The results of
the research and analysis that I did agree with you, that it is impossible for Ethereum to fall below the price of $900. Unless there's a FUD
that makes the Bitcoin price drop to $10k, but that's unlikely to happen either. In my opinion buying Ethereum under $1500 is buying at
a low price, although actually buying Ethereum is the same as buying Bitcoin, we don't have to wait for Ethereum to hit its lowest price to
be able to buy Ethereum. Because at whatever price we buy Ethereum it doesn't matter, it's because Ethereum will continue to rise in price
even higher in the future. Most importantly we must be patient when investing in Ethereum, because Ethereum is very good for long-term
investments.
