Perhaps they will only gamble when alone, where they will feel more comfortable gambling so that no one bothers them. Perhaps people who hide their gambling activities can still be responsible gamblers without people knowing, so they don't experience any problems while gambling secretly.

And each person's mindset is indeed different, and there will be those who disagree if they know someone is gambling, let alone gambling secretly. However, it is each person's choice, and they can only give suggestions.

Doing gambling secretly or alone is very risky if we cannot control ourselves well, no one will remind us when we have gone too far in playing.
Indeed, every gambler has different thoughts, some are responsible and some are irresponsible (they can't control themselves and get emotional easily when they lose).

gambling at alone can also cause addiction and the worst thing is that we can't stop it easily, we need other people. If you hide it in a public place, I don't think it will be a problem, but if you hide it among close friends or family, I don't agree with that because at least the family must know about our gambling activities, so that if we go beyond the limits the family will be able to prevent it.
Sorry to not agree with you completely mate, letting your family know about your gambling activities depends greatly on the type of people one have as a family, Imagine coming from a family where gambling is seen as an abominable thing to do or engage in, like for example, in some religion, it is forbidden to believers in that religion to gamble, and you being someone with a kind of different believe sees nothing with gambling and decide to engage in it, telling your family about it will only result in you creating problems for yourself.

So for me, if i have pals or friends who gamble, it is normal to let them know about your involvement in gambling since you guys can sometimes go out to gamble together maybe on weekends and so on, or you have a brother or sister who is also into gambling, then nothing is wrong in letting them know about your gambling activities, but letting your entire family, or even friend who are not gamblers, know that you engage in gambling is something i do not support, with all honesty.

In my opinion the likelihood of becoming a gambling addict does not depend much on whether people around you know about your hobbies. This can only help in the fight against gambling addiction. If a gambling addict starts spending too much money, it is hard enough to hide it. In addition, almost all of us notice even slight changes in the behavior and mood of their relatives. It is very difficult not to notice when a person has some problems.

The risk of losing self-control by gambling in secret can befall the gambler, so they have to think about how to prevent that from happening. Every gambler has a way to prevent his gambling addiction. Still, some people cannot do it because the temptation to gamble becomes bigger and bigger, so they finally lose control of themselves.

With no one around us, we will feel freer in gambling because no one will warn us to stop. That will make us gamble more often and lose the opportunity to stop our gambling activities. This will create bigger problems for us because it can also impact our family if we become addicted to gambling.

Many of us who are gamblers so much appreciates going on privacy when gambling, when we are having people around us, we sometimes feels uncomfortable because of their distractions and we wouldn't also want them to know about what we are upto in how we gamble or the amount use to stake, at some certain conditions, everyone tends to face his own business when gambling without interfering on each other's business, this will also be our expectations when we loose while gambling or win.

It's the same and for some countries gambling is considered a bad activity to do because it has a much bigger impact when someone is unable to control how much money they spend on gambling. Robbery and murder are bad behaviors that are criminally sanctioned by state law and if gambling involvement can influence these two activities it will actually make our lives worse. For this reason, some people hide their gambling activities so as not to be ostracized by society because of their bad behavior and in the end this can affect the social life of their families in the community.

Maybe that would be one of the good effects if someone hides their gambling activities, so that no one lends them money when they win at gambling. As you said when we lend money to other people, it is very likely that our friendship will fall apart and we will no longer talk to each other. That's why it's better to avoid debt with anyone even if we get the money from the gambling we do.
well, thats what I mean, its important for us to always maintain the confidentiality of our gambling activities wherever we are because there are lots of benefits that we will get, not only from friends borrowing money when we win, but also sometimes we go on holiday in a country that we dont know turns out to prohibit gambling. so that we will avoid being trapped by this law as you said because sometimes we go on holiday to other countries, we dont understand what rules are prohibited, so sometimes online gambling can help us to hide the gambling activities we do.

Yes, I agree, even if someone tries to keep their gambling a secret, it will definitely be revealed one day, with changes in attitudes and life changes experienced by gamblers, meaning that what was previously good finances has changed for the worse or is in disarray, then slowly someone will think that he is a gambler. .

Yes, that's right, getting attention and care from the people closest to you by giving good advice to the gambler is very beneficial for him, so that he changes his life and can stop gambling, so that he doesn't experience any more problems in his life by doing useful activities.

Well really I agree with you, even though for example they are always firm in their decision to hide their bad habits, but I think eventually it will definitely be found out too, just like a carcass wherever you hide it will smell over time. Honestly, I am also one of the active gamblers and I always hide my bad habits from my family, but gradually when they find out that my finances are reduced, my family can already conclude that I gamble, they can guess that because the environment around me is quite active in gambling, so that's a pretty easy guess.

In addition, changes in attitude can also be an indication and we can find out from there, as we know that those who gamble will definitely change their attitude indirectly, they will be more emotional over time. So of course no matter how you hide your bad habits, eventually you will be found out too, especially by some of the people closest to you such as family. If you are still quite new to gambling then yes just a suggestion maybe it will be able to make them consider that this activity is really not profitable and there will only multiply the problems. So the point is that there is nothing better than quitting, I think that's all.
Yes, that's right, friend, we have to be firm in making decisions, even when gambling, because if we still hesitate in making decisions, the results could be in vain.
That's right, if we are surrounded by gamblers, they will easily guess whether we are gamblers or not, because they can definitely see and judge what kind of person is affected by gambling? Yes, one of them is mental changes, unstable emotions.
I agree, bro, with your suggestion that you should just stop so as not to harm yourself, but in my opinion this is very difficult to do if he is already addicted to gambling, perhaps by reducing his gambling slowly.

not a bad act but considered an activity that has a bad impact such as stealing, robbing and even killing just for money to keep betting and that is why certain parts of the country still consider gambling to be very bad to do so that most gamblers in that country prefer to gamble in secret . and actually there are many benefits to hiding our gambling activities from the public, but what happens more often is that someone comes to borrow money and does not pay it back. this incident often happens when someone publishes their winnings and then several people come to borrow money and when we always hide this activity we can avoid people like this. It does not mean that we are stingy, but its just that by borrowing money someone can break ties and that is the bad impact of someone who publicizes any activity related to gambling.

Perhaps they feel uncomfortable with other people's opinions in their environment, so they continue to hide their gambling activities so that there will be problems with these people. Each person chooses to hide or even show it to their environment, whichever makes them feel comfortable telling the truth to others.

Perhaps we would say that is a wrong vision, but not for them because they certainly have their own considerations. We just need to know it because that's what they want. Yes, you are right that there are IFs, which would be a reason people hide or show them to others. Whether you become addicted or can still control your gambling activities will depend on each person because we gamble using our money, and we should be able to be responsible with ourselves and our money.

It depends really on the preferences of a person. Some person might be comfortable with many people knowing their gambling habits, however some might find a hard time sharing it with others. And no matter what reason they might have, it's all valid. Perhaps some people have a negative experience about others knowing it such as others invading their privacy or prying too much on their personal lives to the point they feel like suffocating because others have so much opinion for them or controls how they should act. So I totally get it if some prefer to keep being low key and have only few people know about their gambling habits.
Rightly said it's a more of a preference related thing, some persons are introverts and can be secretive with their habits regardless of the form in which it takes, they also may have persons they place some level of trust on to be confidential with the information if shared with them, so these person would rather just share with a few persons especially those with which they share common view that sharing with the public.

Meanwhile some share their gambling habits wilt the public with reasons of making more money sharing their picks to the public, as this will attract people to subscribing to their various channels especially when their predictions turns out to be winner more often, you find people getting interested in their channels and end up subscribing both for VIPs and regular, that way these persons end up making more money from these subscription. these and many other reasons are why some persons do keep their gambling habit either public or make it private.

Logically right, if no one knows your gambling habit and you lose control with your finances sooner or later people around you will notice changes from your attitude, unlike if there's someone who knows what you are doing, chances that they can look at you in the manner that they care about you mentally and financially.

They can advise or provide hints that you might be exceeding and you might need rest or some time to quit away and keep yourself busy doing other things than spending most of your time in gambling.

Of course, speaking of individuals and families, this is an unfamiliar habit, they limit themselves and do not tell because of entertainment for themselves,

Games are created for a purpose, a reason and a market, of course something that is not risky, even if it is excessive, it will interfere with concentration, priorities and funds that should be used for food needs,

especially risky games, it is better to take a break and arrange other activities for a more productive routine.

When it comes to the regulation of law and citizenship, of course this affects those under the age of 18+ who cannot restrain their ambition, emotions and fantasy in playing.

addiction and may justify all means because they cannot accept.

If you can take responsibility for your predictions, be able to calm down and take a break wisely, I think it's okay to have fun.

I agree with that. It is their life and they know their situation the most more than us. There are people who are comfortable in showing that he/she is a gambler, one example of it are streamers, they stream and flaunt their gambling experience over their streaming platform or social media because they want to interact with people who are also interested with gambling and also to gain followers and casino deals of course. It is just depending on how you see your situation and on how it can impact you as an individual who gamble.
They will choose to interact with people around them or hide it from people because this will depend on their comfort. And when they are comfortable hiding their gambling activities, they will continue to hide it and will not say anything to other people, especially when pressed to tell the truth. Well, it is a choice for them, and we cannot force them to choose what we suggest. It is better to just let them choose their choice.

The only way we can keep our gambling habits secret is when we make sure that no one in our family knows about our gambling activities. There are some people that do see gamblers like irresponsible people so if we eventually exposed our gambling activities, we might end up making things worse for us and people will see us as irresponsible.

Since we are all different from each other's with different mindset and interest, it is good not to justify people especially when they are already addicted to gambling. Some persons do not have a job so the only means of survival they have is to bet and try as much to make profits that can be use to settle there bills and responsibilities.

I understand the social impact in some areas that consider gambling to be a bad act, so that some people try to keep the gambling they do a secret. Technological developments have given some people more freedom to gamble because other people will never know if we don't tell them. So online gambling on available sites may be an alternative nowadays, if one does not want to be known by others when they place bets.
not a bad act but considered an activity that has a bad impact such as stealing, robbing and even killing just for money to keep betting and that is why certain parts of the country still consider gambling to be very bad to do so that most gamblers in that country prefer to gamble in secret . and actually there are many benefits to hiding our gambling activities from the public, but what happens more often is that someone comes to borrow money and does not pay it back. this incident often happens when someone publishes their winnings and then several people come to borrow money and when we always hide this activity we can avoid people like this. Keeping gambling a secret is a self decision. The status of the player in the society changes the perspective of people on his gambling attitude. People know the good gamblers, got controls and behaves well. Proven track record. Those who hide their gambling activity still depend on their behavior. Before society starts investigating. Whether online or offline gambling they'll figure it out. An addict whose complex bad behavior in the society discomfort the people. They'll be forced to take action. What matters is our societal position as a gambler. Gambling doesn't mean living outside the world. Gamblers have fun with their loved ones, provide for their needs, and still keep their family clean from troubles. The bad players always takes the side of the society. And every gambler seen as bad in the society doesn't mean it's true. Responsible gamblers don't have to feel bad about informing people about being a gambler. They'll also see that the gambler is living a good life. Unlike the addicts who can't control the gravity of gambling recklessly. And if they publish their wins, it also depends on a personal relationship, before the winner lends out his money. People who give us pleasure and joy will always have a place in our life. Hence it's difficult to turn them down. Without getting that feeling of being a bad person. Through them or personally. Depending on personal behavior. Even when they're two gamblers in family, the better gambler in behavior and self control gets a different treatment from the reckless gambler. Not informing people about our gambling activity is also a quality of a good gambler. But, it's still similar when we tell people about our gambling habit as a responsible player. I'd say that it all relies on behavior and attitude of the player towards the society. Not every family will be related to a family where a gambler squandered their economy in gambling. Hence, such a gambler, may not have met anybody who is against their gambling lifestyle.

When it comes to keeping our gambling habits a secret, we should try and consider some factors before going ahead with our decision on wether good to keep it secret or not. For instance, anyone that's not good in controlling his emotions isn't supposed to keep his gambling habits to himself because when the person lose huge sum of money and can't control his emotions over it, he's likely to gamble more and more in his bid to make sure that he recovers his money and most times they lose more instead of recovering. But if he had informed people around him of his gambling habit, they'll help in regulating him and know when he's doing more than he should do

In fact, things like this are what often happen if gambling is not kept secret from friends around us. Sometimes they are the ones who make our gambling decisions fall apart and no longer align with our goals in the first place because they are influenced by their input. In other words, it destroys concentration. But back to the beginning, actually whether it is kept secret or not depends on each person, as comfortable as he or she is.

That's why all this time, if I want to gamble, I should keep it a secret because this is for my own comfort, this has nothing to do with addiction. Besides, gambling is prohibited in my country, so it's better to keep it a secret to maintain our morals towards the local community.
Not all people would really be that showy on what are the things that they are getting involved with on which there are ones who dont really care about other peoples sentiments and comments but there are people who are really that always mindful about on what others would really be saying unto him on which it do really make him uncomfortable and this is why you would really be that ending up on keeping it as a secret and staying away from peoples eyes on which this action would really be just that entirely depending on someone since its our actions to be made then it would really be that differentiating to each other since there are really indeed people who are really that skeptical on showing up things in public or even into their loved ones awareness or eyes and this is why
they wont really be tending to share it up and would do it privately as much as possible.

It is just depending on how you see your situation and on how it can impact you as an individual who gamble.

These factors has made a number of gamblers to keep their gambling habit a secret doing all they could not to let friends and family  know they gamble. And it does seem like they ain't proud of what they're doing.

But why continue in what you're not proud of by keeping it secret cause maybe you're worried about what people may say, how their thoughts about your person might change. Or how you might loose ties with someone you hold dear to. And many other reasons that follows
If you are not prepared for all the conditions that occur then it is best not to gamble because gambling activities between us and the bookie have no connection with other people. However, if it is an addiction that costs a lot of money, it will have an impact on the family, especially if the person is married and has to provide material responsibilities for his family. If gambling can ignore one's responsibilities to the family, that is the worst impact for a responsible adult man.

~snip~
It depends really on the preferences of a person. Some person might be comfortable with many people knowing their gambling habits, however some might find a hard time sharing it with others. And no matter what reason they might have, it's all valid. Perhaps some people have a negative experience about others knowing it such as others invading their privacy or prying too much on their personal lives to the point they feel like suffocating because others have so much opinion for them or controls how they should act. So I totally get it if some prefer to keep being low key and have only few people know about their gambling habits.
For reasons that each person has, they will continue with their choice because it makes them comfortable. The important thing is that each person who gambles will know what to do and see the reaction of the people around him and his environment. If they see it is better to hide their gambling activities, they will do so and vice versa. But whatever they choose, we should not blame them because we don't know the situation and conditions in their environment and what they are facing.
