It depends really on the preferences of a person. Some person might be comfortable with many people knowing their gambling habits, however some might find a hard time sharing it with others. And no matter what reason they might have, it's all valid. Perhaps some people have a negative experience about others knowing it such as others invading their privacy or prying too much on their personal lives to the point they feel like suffocating because others have so much opinion for them or controls how they should act. So I totally get it if some prefer to keep being low key and have only few people know about their gambling habits.
Gambling is risky and some high class positioned individuals anticipate in gambling activities, but involved in mute mode because they wouldn't afford to jeopardize their position to common gambling addicts which will portrayed questionable reputation on their career. Perhaps I know successful gamblers in the space that prints enormous profits daily, given a solid strategy. Exposing gambling activities is not my style, I prefer keeping everything anticipate in discreet because of the negative talks from people. However other people do intend passing pieces of information concerning their gambling activities, which is actually fabricated to their taste.

Perhaps they feel uncomfortable with other people's opinions in their environment, so they continue to hide their gambling activities so that there will be problems with these people. Each person chooses to hide or even show it to their environment, whichever makes them feel comfortable telling the truth to others.

Perhaps we would say that is a wrong vision, but not for them because they certainly have their own considerations. We just need to know it because that's what they want. Yes, you are right that there are IFs, which would be a reason people hide or show them to others. Whether you become addicted or can still control your gambling activities will depend on each person because we gamble using our money, and we should be able to be responsible with ourselves and our money.

That is the problem of society and most people opinion in this topic. They support hiding gambling, because it relies to something negative. Gambling = negative = bad. Imho that is a false vision and it is really hard to fix that or convince people in opposite. Also, I see no reason to adopt to others in this case. Kind of a herd effect, when person dont have his own opinion.

With gambling and gambling addiction there are to many IF. There are no reports, scientific facts or proves that a person gamble, that he turns into addicted with 100% probability. That is why I find it stupid to hide my hobby or habit, because someone read or saw somewhere article about addiction and made conclusion that I am also gonna turn into one one day and ruin my and my family's life.

When it comes to keeping our gambling habits a secret, we should try and consider some factors before going ahead with our decision on wether good to keep it secret or not. For instance, anyone that's not good in controlling his emotions isn't supposed to keep his gambling habits to himself because when the person lose huge sum of money and can't control his emotions over it, he's likely to gamble more and more in his bid to make sure that he recovers his money and most times they lose more instead of recovering. But if he had informed people around him of his gambling habit, they'll help in regulating him and know when he's doing more than he should do

Logically right, if no one knows your gambling habit and you lose control with your finances sooner or later people around you will notice changes from your attitude, unlike if there's someone who knows what you are doing, chances that they can look at you in the manner that they care about you mentally and financially.

They can advise or provide hints that you might be exceeding and you might need rest or some time to quit away and keep yourself busy doing other things than spending most of your time in gambling.
Yes, I agree, even if someone tries to keep their gambling a secret, it will definitely be revealed one day, with changes in attitudes and life changes experienced by gamblers, meaning that what was previously good finances has changed for the worse or is in disarray, then slowly someone will think that he is a gambler. .

Yes, that's right, getting attention and care from the people closest to you by giving good advice to the gambler is very beneficial for him, so that he changes his life and can stop gambling, so that he doesn't experience any more problems in his life by doing useful activities.

You are right in that people don't want to talk about their addictions, even if they have control over it. For example, it is not socially accepted to say that you like to smoke marijuana to relax or that you drink beer every day after work. People don't like that kind of thing. It's the same with gambling addiction. People won't understand you even if you play casino games once a week just to have fun.
That's because they don't want to see people have negative opinions about what they do, so they will hide their gambling activities from other people. Apart from that, by hiding their gambling activities, they will enjoy their relaxing moments by gambling and will not hear negative opinions from the people around them.

Yes, that's right, I agree with you, when emotions hit and when experience continuous defeat hiding our gambling habits is not a good thing because it will make us worse off if no one reminds us or calms our emotions.
If we tell about our gambling habits we can prevent the many losses we experience because maybe the friends or family who are told advise us not to get too carried away when doing gambling activities and yes, although sometimes if we talk about gambling activities it is likely that family or friends will blame or judge and continuous advice about the badness of gambling so that it can influence our minds, but this is better than us going too deep into gambling but no one reminds us so that it makes someone addicted to gambling and it could have a bad impact on their life.

There are no accurate official statistics about the rates of gambling demand in these countries because this data can only be collected based on data provided by gambling companies. But I can conclude that the demand for all gambling activities is very high because I live in one of those countries (an Arab country whose religion is Islam) in a small city and I notice the huge number of users of gambling. If we generalize that example to the major cities and then to the scale of the entire country, I am sure that the number It will be unexpected.
It does not really surprise me this is the case, the old way of doing things in which certain services or products could be forbidden could have worked on the past, but now with a world that is interconnected and everything can be gotten with extreme ease this is almost impossible to do, so it is better that countries move to a regulation model in which they can at least have some sort of control over those activities, however a change in culture will be needed for this to happen, and unfortunately this is a very slow process.

Why wouldnt I want someone to find out that I am gambling. I have noticed that evaluation of gambling in topic "never gamble in front of the kids". People consider gambling as something negative. When we hear gambling, first things we think are something illegal, crimital, addiction, loosing money. My vision is different, it is a way to spend time and have fun. I've tried to convince people, that gambling does not equal bad. But its is hard to do that. For me, gambling = fun. I get some relax while gambling. I dont have a single bad memory about gambling (I dont even feel bad for long time when I lose). It was always smiling, laughter and joking. So why would I hide it, be shamed of it, hide it from kids and etc, as if I am doing something bad.
It's okay if you think like that because we have our own desires or different wishes. So that's what I noticed in the environment around me because many people still think gambling is something negative, which makes people still hide their gambling activities. So they feel that it would be better for them to do that rather than have something that makes them uncomfortable, especially in their relationships. They will not have problems hiding their gambling activities if they can or have good self-control. So it is normal for people who do not want to show their gambling activities to other people because some considerations cause them to do such things.

Therefore, if someone can control their emotions well, they will not experience any problems related to their gambling activities. The person hides his gambling activities for various reasons that he may not be able to say, which is normal for him. Maybe other people couldn't accept it because the reasons he would explain would be different. But maybe he could tell other people about his gambling activities if he was okay with it. The important thing is whether he will tell about his gambling activities or hide it from others, he must have good self-control while gambling so that he will not get into any trouble.

This is in accordance with the proverb that says, “Everything that is forbidden is desirable,” on the basis of which we find a huge number of users in the gambling industry are from countries where gambling is either forbidden by a religious text or prohibited by a law derived primarily from religious legislation, or both. International gambling companies that are able to provide services to these countries have been able to reap profits in the millions, perhaps more than their users in countries that legalize and regulate gambling activities.

Do you have any data supporting about huge number of people contributing on gambling industry came fro region that forbidding it? It will be interesting if this is true since it only means that restrictions on this said countries is very lousy which their citizen can bypass it. I believe it’s still the country that accepts gambling openly still contributes a lot on the gambling industry globally.

There’s no way an online casino can get license to serve legally those countries with strong restrictions on gambling since the government themselves doesn’t want gambling to spread with their citizens.

If gambling is being kicked against in a particular country, it will definitely reduce the number of participation in gambling because the people will be afraid of being caught and face the legal law, though in some of these countries, we may find it common seeing the people using VPN to access some gambling platforms while some of the gamblers may be taking the risk of gambling in their closet or through the online means but privately, for someone like me, i will not join or support in any violation of the law, even though the reality is that people will continue to use platforms for gambling privately.

Anyone can bypass with just simple tools we find online. Not sure what he meant when he said those casinos reap more profits from them than users from countries that are allowed to play. But maybe because users who bypassed restrictions are not able to report or file lawsuit because it's not a good idea to get caught sneaking.

But this is different from users who chose to hide their gambling activity from anyone, they are doing it by choice because of privacy primarily.

is right. not everyone can accept a gambler. It's a good idea if we are gamblers not to show it off to people, let alone our family. This is not something we should be proud of, especially if we are addicts. it's better not to gamble, well this is also a matter of how we socialize well.
It is important to take into account many cultural and civilizational considerations for each person and each region. In many regions of the world, gambling is forbidden according to religious doctrines, and some of them prohibit its practice by statutory law. There are, of course, many people in these areas who practice gambling, but they cannot declare it. These may be good reasons to hide, but they become dangerous if the gambler develops an addiction to gambling and is not able to share his psychological problems with anyone for fear of scandal and repercussions.
In open societies, most of those who hide their activities are addicted to gambling and do not want others to know about them for fear of social stigma.
Yes you are right that mate some regions in the world forbidden cause of there doctrines but there are many many people disobey their doctrines and keep playing or gamble even if it's prohibited. there's no need to shock as we all know that nowadys most area in the world have internet and there are many gambling sites in the internet so we can not deny the fact that there are many people will play and play anytime anywhere.

If gambling is what an individual chooses to do why will they hide it, I think it depends on the person involved, is not ideal to secretly do things that make you happy unless you have checked thoroughly and find it to be a bad habit, if I may say I don't see gambling as a bad stuff, is just that gambling is addictive and one needs to have control over themselves in other to indulge in this kind of activity, different people with diverse reasoning and understanding, some set of persons see gambling as a bad thing but if you dash them money made from it, they will take, I just see this as hypocrisy, the only thing I will say is that if one decide to gamble just gamble with care and less concentration to avoid addiction that may lead to going extra mind to get money to satisfy your urge, but don't hide it, as far as you know that you are not doing it the wrong way.

Many people are hiding their involvement in gambling not because of anything but people around them. Like those people will be saying, if they are looking for any other help one day, especially financial help from your close people, if they know that you are a gambler, they will hardly help because many people believe that if they help gamblers with money, they will still use it to gamble, and because of that, many people will start to lose interest in their trust because many gamblers are not the trust worth, so all these kinds of things make gamblers lose valuable in their community. And one thing I notice about those who are hiding their involvement in gambling are the poor people who always think that one day they may ask for help from others when they have no money and are thinking about how others will view their gambling action in terms of their religion as well. As we know, some religions go against gambling, and a person who claims to be Muslim or Christian and their religion goes against gambling will not always feel comfortable if they do something against their religion in the presence of other religious beliefs.

Anyone that is gambling and is hiding their gambling habit is really not proud of what they are doing although I don’t blame most of the people who are getting involved in such activities because their are lot of people who are just there and can’t really stand out to defend their own decision they so much care about what people will think of them and what people will also say which makes them to hide their passion from the eyes of the general public.

Sometimes too one of the reason why most people hide their gambling habit is as a result of them not wanting people to think that that’s where they spend all their money or in a situation where the person is not doing financially well, people might think that gambling is the reason why they can’t survive or save out something out of their income and for them to save their self those explanations they just have to hide it from them and their gambling under ground.

It's not really necessary to make to the world known that you are gambling. Sometimes it's much better to only let a few trusted ones to know your gambling habits so that only the selected ones that has direct involvement of your life will make criticisms to your routine without being so harsh to you nor being so at ease with your ways. Because sometimes, there are people who just want to meddle with your business and not really help you out. They judge not out of concern, rather to insult or to control you. So still, be careful who you trust and who you share with.
Yes, we should keep it to ourselves, especially if it will cause other new problems between us and the people around us. As long as we can control ourselves while gambling, we will not experience the problems other people face because we will always remember that gambling is only with the money we can afford. So hiding our gambling habits will not give us problems, and we can gamble in peace without thinking about what other people who know about our gambling activities will say. And it is true that if we want to talk about our gambling activities so far, we must be able to choose people we trust so that it won't cause problems.
When it comes to keeping our gambling habits a secret, we should try and consider some factors before going ahead with our decision on wether good to keep it secret or not. "Gambling in peace" - why not just ask not to bother you for couple of hours, because you will be busy and need concentration?

Think about secret habit in different way. If it is in secret, then no one will be able to help you if you have troubles. I remember someone was mentioning addiction, and now you say that hiding that you gamble is good. Isnt it a first to addiction?
They will not disturb us when we are in the room and say I am working on something and we can also ask them not to disturb us for a few hours.

Now imagine if you have good self-control but don't want anyone to know you are gambling. Does that constitute gambling addiction? We are all addicted to gambling by always returning to the casino and playing various gambling games. However, we refuse to be called gambling addicts because we can still control ourselves. We also don't use too much money for gambling.

We hide our gambling activities from other people because we don't want to hear negative feedback from them about what we do in gambling. That's because we feel we can still control ourselves well while gambling. But if it's different for you, that's okay.

You are 100% right with that. But why should I follow society point of view and say that "yeah, it is bad", when I have fun from it once a week? I dont force anyone to gamble or drink or smoke. I am minding my own business, so I dont like when someone bothers me with "you know that gambling is bad, it get you addicted"? A lot of people dont realise what they say. They once heard and saw addicted person, and now everyone that has ever placed a bet is addicted. But that is wrong. Person who made few wine sips isnt an alcoholic, a guy who ran 10m isnt a sprinter, a guy who placed 1-2 bets once a while isnt addicted gambler.
