I always sort of thought that if you’re engaging in behavior that you want to keep a secret then you probably shouldn’t be engaging in that behavior. This is especially true with things like gambling. If it isn’t illegal and it isn’t a problem, why wouldn’t you want to share things you enjoy with the people that you care about? Seems suspect.

Sometimes, keeping secrets is not necessarily bad behavior. Keeping secrets will not affect our lives. When we live in an environment where people around us do not like gambling. Gambling openly is not good. As you know, women are troublesome. We cannot share with them the money we lose while gambling. Keeping secrets is necessary in some cases, as long as we know how to control ourselves in this gambling game. Don't let serious consequences happen. When everything comes out, you will be blamed for this secret.
Keeping our gambling activities a secret is not a bad thing, by keeping it a secret we will avoid conversations with people who think that gambling is a bad thing in their opinion. If we live in an environment that doesn't like gambling, of course it would be better for us to keep our gambling activities a secret because if they find out, of course this will become a topic of conversation among people around us and this will make us uncomfortable.

It will work if you do have a good control and proper management of your time and money, keeping yourself away from the eyes of other people will help you not to engage to any forms of bad-mouthing or negative opinions about things that you are involved with, for sure not many are okay with those negative impression, when someone throw negative opinions most of the time a person will be shy and not wanting to broadcast his participation.
based on what you've said, I want to share that I have this kind of mindset that It's better not to let people around you, especially your relative knows that you're into casino or you're participated in any act of gambling because they have the potential to oppose you which leads you to lose your game and to destroy your plans. It's okay to avoid and to keep it from them, especially if you're not asking money on them. Hearing some negative opinions from them about you losing in a gambling will hooked on the idea that gambling can help reinstate any losses incurred, through the process of winning, or simply use the gambling process itself as the great escape from hellish emotion.

The main reason a gambler keeps his activities a secret is because he doesn't want people to look down on him or look bad at him. even though a gambler is not a criminal and does not harm other people.
In my opinion, it doesn't matter if you want to keep your gambling a secret as long as you can control yourself well and be able to control yourself so you don't get emotional easily when you lose.
deciding to keep gambling a secret does have a high risk but it all depends on each person if someone succeed in keeping gambling a secret and uses it safely without experiencing many problem I thinks it's okay.
That means those who hide their gambling must be able to control themselves well so that they don't experience problems while gambling. He must also realize the impact he could experience if he keeps his gambling a secret. No one knows whether he can still prevent himself from losing self-control or losing self-control because no one reminds him of gambling. He must pay attention to many things if he wants to keep his gambling a secret from other people. That is his responsibility because no one else knows about it.

just go with the mindset that people must talk in whatever we're doing be it drinking of alcohol or gambling they will always tryna find words to punch at us to make what we doing look bad to our conscience and person. They don't care to check if you're holding on in there making sure to be drinking or gambling responsibly they just want to pretend to care whereas behind they themselves have worst things they do in secret that's unthinkable compared to gambling. In some society they have given a wrong perspective about gambling and this has forced some persons that are gamblers to hide their gambling habit to avoid unsolicited advice and talks.
That's true because people will easily find ways to attack other people, especially if that person often gambles or drinks alcohol. And that's what makes people not want to tell other people that they gamble or drink alcohol because they don't want to get negative opinions about what they do. Hiding gambling activities will be the choice of each gambler, whichever makes them comfortable and that is what they choose and they also don't care what other people say about what they do. They can still control themselves when gambling so that it doesn't cause problems, although there are also gamblers who lose control while gambling so they become addicted to gambling.

Illegal acts and other acts we indulge in that is generally frowned out by society and could be humiliating when found out are things we would likely keep secret from close friends and family but i think It mostly depends on the Individual and the penchant for sharing information.
It’s not necessarily a must to share with the people you care about, things you enjoy doing and while it may seem suspicious, it’s actually not.

Asides that, the people you care may not care much and could have a distaste for those activities you enjoy and may overtime become judgemental without realizing it.

These factors has made a number of gamblers to keep their gambling habit a secret doing all they could not to let friends and family  know they gamble. And it does seem like they ain't proud of what they're doing.

Those that keep their gambling habit a secret is it that they're not proud of what they are doing?.
Some things are meant to be kept private, because it's not everything a man does he is supposed to let his next door neighbour, friend or family members know about it, because inasmuch as you are not committing a crime or risking someone's money for the sake of gambling, for me, I will say that it is very okay not let everyone know what you do in this life. Because another way to answer this very question you just asked above is this, "That people don't tell you how much they have in their bank accounts, does it mean they are not proud of it?".
Because the fact that you are not an irresponsible gambler, I don't see any reason why anybody should be worried/afraid about not letting people know that you gamble.

Those that keep their gambling habit a secret is it that they're not proud of what they are doing?.
I think it's not about that they are not proud of what they are doing but maybe they just don't feel exposing themselves publicly with gambling or they just need some privacy. It could be that they have justifiable reasons why they did that. Common reason is of family related issues second one is the nature of the specific gambling or there is an issue about regulations or legality.
Some people value their privacy and don’t see the point in telling anyone else about what they do with their time and money. It’s that simple.
What does it matter if someone decides to keep their habits a secret? It really shouldn’t concern anyone what someone else chooses to do with their time and money.
I always try to keep my gambling activities secret. Because I know that if anyone finds out about my gambling, I have no chance of profiting but more likely to lose. Because there are some people who may constantly give advice or may feel annoyed by their words. And for some reason my normal gambling behavior may also be affected. So I don't want anyone to know about my gambling. I believe there is a tendency among all gamblers who do not want to share their gambling habits with anyone. I think as a prudent gambler every one should do it.

You have a good point in what you said, because there are others who don't really understand what we do, and besides that, most of them have a bad view of gambling. And we also know this about ourselves, right? So we don't want minors to see it.

I'm hiding my gambling because I'm definitely like him; he'll fight me for sure. Instead of us having an argument, I'll just keep it a secret and keep it to myself that only I know. To avoid a mess that could ruin our relationship. So it's okay that only I know and the community here in the forum knows.

That's true, whatever you do either good or bad, gambling or not, there's always the people that keeps an eye on you if they feel that you're better than them.

However, there is a difference when they talk about us being gamblers. This is going to be worse than we thought. Many people are shunned by their neighbors here because they are a gambling addict. People talk about how bad their judgment is about him. This can damage the person's mentality. Therefore, continuing to play in secret would be better than other people knowing. At least, if they talking about us to other, it's not that bad and we can still understand and don't need to think about it.

We are just human being and even we can just ignore what someone's saying behind our back there's still time that we will be affected by those bad comments about us, gambling addicted person though are not minding anyone's opinions as most of the time they are just using their time and focus with how they can win or how they can enjoy during their gambling sessions.

Not all are affected and not all can just ignore. It's on our own perspectives and self-explanation about the issue that we are facing.

If the person is socially and family harmed due to gambling then it is better to keep this information secret. In the case of online gambling it is easy to keep the information secret if you don't tell yourself no one will know easily someone's bad behavior will not affect the gambling. In many countries of the world gambling is seen as a bad thing and many families do not support this game, so it is better to keep your habits a secret but you should play with everything in mind. If it becomes a constant habit then it is not possible to keep it a secret.

It seems to me there are many people out there which have a mistaken view out of gambling, after all there are people that enjoy having a beer from time to time and no one ever says to them they should quit it as they could become alcoholics, and there are some that even argue that drinking a little bit of alcohol could be good for your health, however when it comes to gambling, if people get to know you like to gamble they will begin to advice you leave it behind, even if it is none of their business what you do with your money.
Maybe that's because the effects of gambling are more pronounced and can be seen in real terms and can impact many things and many people. Maybe an alcoholic can be better than a gambling addict, even though both have negative effects. That's why people will immediately advise you to reduce gambling or even stop gambling if they know you often gamble. They suggest this because maybe they have often seen what happens when someone experiences a gambling addiction and they don't want you to experience the same thing. So that's probably why people still hide their gambling activities from people because they don't want to hear other people say they should stop gambling immediately before things get bad.

It's okay if you choose to keep your gambling activities secret because that may be the most appropriate for you. You probably don't want people to come to you and advise you to stop gambling even though you still enjoy gambling. You just want to avoid the many questions that might be asked of you so you prefer to hide your gambling activities. I also hid my gambling activities because I thought it was best for me. But I always try not to cross the line so that no problems will arise later. That's what I must always pay attention to and train myself to have good self-control.

There are people who do shows care for someone even if they dont really that much know or even with your family members or relatives on which they've been dealing up with gambling on impulsive manner.
Its true that giving out some advises isnt really that bad but there are really people who doesnt really like such thing which it turns out to be that offensive for them and its really indeed none of our business
on what they should gonna do with their money. This is why if there's someone who do keeps being that told in regarding into their gambling activity or habit then they would really be later on to decide on
keeping it as a secret because they are really that getting irritated if someone would really be that deciding to give out those words into things that they are involved into.

Its not really that bad to gamble but dont give out a reason on other people to tell up things into you specially if they have seen that you are already selling your possessions just because do really love to play
gambling on extreme extent on which it didnt really give out that kind of realization that you are really that going too far ahead on things that supposed to be done.

You should care less of what people may think or say about you. That way, you wouldn’t be bothered or feel annoyed by harsh words or criticisms. People would always have something bad about you to say so why would you let their words affect you?

Ignore them and don't think that you need to extract your energy to anything they say. They just want your attention and avoid spending and wasting time on them.

I also find it a bit funny that you think you’re more likely to lose when more people know that you gamble. Perhaps you take gambling advice from just about anyone including people with zero knowledge you and end up losing out.
Haha, first time to hear this I guess but there's no association to our luck whether people knows that we're gamblers or not.
