We have different wives. Once she tells this gambling habit to her friends or family, it's gonna be another world to defend.
It's normal to keep secrets, some call it boundaries to the worse they call it double life. But you'd be surprised what people are keeping from their family and sometimes they only discover it after they die like another family showing up at the funeral or their husband was actually gay and sleeping with different men.

For me keeping the gambling habit is not a crime. After all, I'm not spending thousands in a month on it.

But one thing is if you gamble for fun, your wife won't ask you why are you spending money on that. But if you are addicted to gambling, I guess she has the right to ask you to stop doing it.

My post with mentioning a motorcycle was not to compare motorcycle and gambling. And it was not about a matter of transportation. My motorcycle is my hobby, an expensive one. And it is kinda selfish transport, as I ride it only myself. We have two cars for transportation. Motorcycle is just for joyrides. She never complain that it is dangerous, I am gonna get hit one day and etc. In fact, it was like - you want it, then go riding school, buy gear and family is always on first place. Same is with gambling. If I wish, I could gamble as much as I want, as long as it does not make any harm to family.

Back to gambling, chance to crash is lower than chance to loosing a bet worth a motorcycle Grin

Or my balls are small enough to place a 5k bet, but hard as steel to ride 220kmh without abs or steering damper.
