i wouldnt try it unless you have a hot air station and know-how.
didnt lowering the frecquency work? default is 292... i think so try that 292:55

which are the power bucks, I'm looking at troubleshoot.but can't seem to figure it out. got it. any idea where to get one of these? and installation guide?

Its probably the 355mhz overclock, you are already running oveclocked.
Adding a small small and as tall as posible heatsink on the power bucks helps quite a bit.

the k16 has 2 power banks giving power to 8 and 8 chips when the hashing is half of normal a power bank doesnt operate properly.

I tried "klondike-options":"355:60" 5.29 gh/s on one but the other is still at 2.5 gh/s. i have tried everything i can think of.

i figured it out and chose to let them run at default, but one of them won't hash any ideas? it was working fine tried to flash it with picket but says i need firmware 1.28.0




So i got them running on bfgminer and was wondering what do i add to my conf folder in order to over clock the k16?

I know there were new versions of drivers added to the project and firmware also, there is no bootloader so you would have to use a pickit. The bad part is that we gave this project so much troubleshooting and the design flaws are not readily apparent so its hard to figure out where the failure is occurring. Most likely you have a USB issue as that seemed to be the theme of this project. I get the same errors on occasion but we had a script written to restart the miner if the speeds drop below a certain rate and then I kinda stopped paying attention to them. I will see if I can find the file and have it posted here.

Anybody have 2-3 k16 PCB for sell?

Yes I tried one for a newer alt coin based of SHA-256 called "Cookies" and I also tried pool.50btc.com. I tried slushs pool as well with the same results - always the same error code. Any Ideas?

We have some members who have been involved in chip design. Would they be able to carry it forward start to finish for us? Not sure but I think there are plenty of people in the community that could be called on to move this idea forward and the WPC would be open to working together in unison with others to build an open source ASIC using the same model we have for funding our own projects in the WPC. Drop me an email we can discuss it further but I'd be keen on moving this forward with a small group of people to explore what is required and what sort of ASIC would be best then bringing a plan, with all the cost estimates and invest requirements, to the community and moving forward from there. Essentially you need a team so there is no SINGLE point of failure possible.

Did you try a different pool?

Hello - I am unsure what to do - I purchased a K16 board off of Ebay today and I can not get it to work for the life of me. I keep getting the same errors.

I got it and a new Power supply unit today in the mail - Hooked up the fan on top of the K16 to the PSU, not the Board (PSU has a 4 pin molex that I used) - hooked up the board to the 6 pin PCI express, green light turns on - it powers up. I hooked the micro usb cord from the miner to my computer - my computer recognizes it and tries to download a driver for "k16". Of course, it fails because there isn't one. I downloaded "Zadig" from sourceforge  Version -"zadig_v2.0.1.160.7z" to be exact, Opened it up and selected "K16" in the list of USB Devices, I then loaded the driver "WinUSB" to the "K16". I downloaded CGMiner 3.8.3 just to be safe since as its the exact same copy recommended in the "How To" Instructions for the Klondike miners. (I've tried multiple different  Cgminer versions now with same results) I created a Start.bat file trying multiple different command lines and all of them giving me around the same results and error messages. Heres the few I tried:

I notice it says "If you compile your own version of Cgminer for windows, make sure to use the option "-enable-klondike" but I am unsure where to add this. I also tried adding this to one of the bat files like so - with no positive results.

I believe it was the cookie pool with the "HTTP" heading that gave me accepts - and also showed it was mining at 5.8 GH/S on the pool, But I didn't get any payouts so obviously something is still not right. I am pretty sure this is User error (yes I'm a noob I'm sorry lol) and not a fried miner (or I'm hoping at least).

Heres a few images of the miner throwing errors at me - ALSO - When these errors are thrown, there is a red flashing LED on the miner. It flashs 2 times in a row then stops for a second then flashes 2 times again.

I need to preface this with the unfortunate fact that my knowledge of ASIC design, or any chip design at the silicon level, is woefully inadequate. So if my question comes off as stupid, don't behead me

Does the project currently have people capable of designing an ASIC from beginning to end?

If so, what kind of costs would be likely (Best/Worst case?)

I can think of lots more, but it's kind of offtopic. Depending on the answers I get, I might start a new thread on the subject, or perhaps try to help organize such a project. Given the unreliability and in many cases downright shady actions of most current ASIC companies, I think the market would easily bear such a project.

iirc? then can you point me in the right direction for using the picket 3 and possibly info on over clocking. I'm using bfgminer but have been reading that cgminer may be best.
