Hmm yea mine is the same.way. over 350k coins but barely get any.

Yeah, ditto...well into six figures of KOBO but I only get a few payouts of 1 or 2 coins, for a total of < 10 each time. (Granted I only put the wallet online every few days.)

Hadn't really given it much thought, but it's interesting that it's apparently the same for others.

i could never understand how this wallet stakes.
sometimes it goes well, sometimes like this time it simply almost doesn't,
with weight 10-15% of total network i had 2 stakes in 24 hours, unbelievable

Add more nodes?

nope, it's not about nodes, plenty of them, syncs perfectly, clock is ok, smth else.

I've just updated the KOBO price ticker so it now includes the following:

- BTC
- USD
- NGN (Nigerian Naira)
- ZAR (South African Rand)
- KES (Kenyan Shilling)

These are the currencies of the 3 main financial centres in Africa.

How much is 1btc to kobocoin and also can it be purchased from Nigeria

The BTC/KOBO price can be got from coinmarketcap.com (search for KOBO) but the quickest way to see current price is to check the twitter feed.
https://twitter.com/kobocoindev

The price is tweeted every hour and shows the current price of 1 KOBO to BTC, USD and NGN. This is a link to the most recent price tweet

At the time of me writing this 1 KOBO = 1.07 Naira, so KOBO is actually worth more than Naira right now! Cheesy

It's possible to buy KOBO in Nigeria, but at this time it can only be done online through the cryptocurrency exchanges.

1. Purchase some bitcoin (BTC)
2. Goto a cryptocurrency exchange that sells KOBO
3. Use BTC to purchase KOBO
4. Send KOBO to your wallet

I know it's a bit involved, but please be assured that I'm working on something behind the scenes regarding this.

You can buy back  Smiley .. I think Kobocoin is undervalued.. right now, with a solid dev and recent news it should be ranked in the top 100 coins , market cap of around 400,000 or 0.00004 BTC per Kobo.  If the co-development project with bitsoko is successful, it should be in the top 20-50 coins or a market cap of $1M or around 0.0008 BTC per Kobo...

It will be successful. There is real commitment from both sides. We're still troubleshooting the js libraries. We're able to get a private key generated but getting a KOBO address generated is the challenge now. We'll get there. Unfortunately this week I've been running up and down and also troubleshooting the Electrum server for UberPay. They ran initial tests. It was running fine but I think the electrum server stalled. I probably need to set up more than just the one. There's not enough hours in a day to get everything done.

I'm actually writing this at 4.30am UK time. I've just arrived in Manchester. I'm attending Coinfest UK (https://coinfestuk.org/). I'm looking forward to meeting some of the other devs in person, listening to current and future developments, and seeing what else I can do to take Kobocoin forward.

This week Kobocoin has also become part of the Federated Blockchains Initiative. The aim of the initiative is to develop a sidechain that can unify blockchains, so there may be (in the near future if it's possible and works out) a way for independent blockchains to communicate with each other. I need to make an official announcement about joining the initiative but I've been running up and down the UK this week and time is a premium. London on Monday. Edinburgh on Tuesday and Wednesday. London on Thursday and Friday, and now Manchester for Coinfest on Saturday.

All good stuff! (but tiring...)

Did you sell all your coins? ..  I have  not sold a single coin and even bought during the lows... I am happy with the recent developments.   I guess the turning point was the announcement of the partnership with bitsoko (which received a grant from the Gates Foundation) .. The project, if successful, will make Kobocoin play a critical role in what might become Africa's "own bitcoin"..  The market is responding by buying up the coin which has been hitting the highs recently..

Tribesman I wish you did all this stuff when I still had my Kobocoins lol  Cheesy nevertheless I wish you the best of luck  Wink

Unfortunately I sold em all a while back, thinking this would die out, your faith in this project will be rewarded I am sure if dev keeps up this pace.  Smiley

I know. I can only apologise. There was some heavy personal stuff going on in the middle and end of last year which created a lack of motivation, but that was last year!

No matter what, thanks for the continued support. I hope I can confirm that you were right to have faith in the project in the first place.

If you keep up the good work, things should work out, new doors will be opened Smiley Although I don't have Kobocoins anymore I will continue to follow this project with great interest.  Wink

There are so many developments I'd like to get into including getting into Raspberry Pi once rokos flavours comes out. It's hard finding time with a day job and flying up and down the UK every week, but everything that's needed will be completed.

Would building the daemon for Raspbian Wheezy (1st Pi, model B) be of any use?
Yes, all development is a step forward. Do you know if a lot of Pi owners remain on wheezy? I'm guessing that some people might still be afraid of the word 'upgrade'.

Ok here it is:
https://mega.nz/#!b9gjEJBB!ES939lrqS1c8qUqaOiFU-L79udj0hKlSB5Hdok8YUGw

I've tested it, it works and downloads blocks but I haven't synced the whole chain yet. I'm not able to have it running 24/7 and a slow cpu like this takes longer to sync the chain.

I've got no numbers on how many Pi-users are still on wheezy I'm afraid. I guess quite a few people got one and are not *nix-geeks so they might not see the reason to upgrade as long as the system does what they want it to. Security stuff is still backported so it chugs along Smiley

Excellent news. Thank you for this. I'll be buying 2 Pi's this weekend. I'll get Wheezy on one and Jessie on the other and give this a tryout.

Much appreciated! Sent you a PM
