^  Real's time is now!  I hope they lose a match in their first 5 - 8 fixtures.  That could make their line on winning La Liga go to 5 or so.  Grin  The last time I checked, it was around 3ish...  Not much value in there imo.

Check the odds now. Atletico trashed them 7:3 last night. It was 5:0 at half time. Didn't watch the game but I saw few hilarious pictures like Bale having time of his life while the team is conceding.

Or atletico- real heatmap, it was this one just used with some updated text can't find the tweet at the moment but found below on the google

Add to that all the injuries happening to them, yesterday they lost Jovic and Modric, the odds could be growing nicely. It seems Bale signed for some Chinese club so he is gone too, not that Zidane will miss him much.

This picture explains everything about the real Madrid defeat of Athletico, the two club formations are interconnected and Athletico Madrid really enjoys this formation LOL.

I wouldn't say that Ramos is a problem in Real Madrid's defense.
He is the most productive CB in La Liga in my opinion.
Apart from that, I agree with you about Nacho and Carvajal. Real needs to sign 2 good center backs at least if they want to be a competitive team again...
However Ramos cannot be blamed because of the defeat that has occurred. Everyone has worked as it should and that's the fact.
And I agree if you say Ramos CB is the most productive. It seems like Real Madrid will not bring in any new players for center-back either. There's no time for that anymore. Because the Transfer Window is nearing the end and it is impossible for real madrid to look for defenders at random.

Ramos is a legend and a very high scoring Centre Back, any team would love to have him. He is also a very good leader but he has 2 problems

1. Of course the discipline. It's costs Real Madrid sometimes especially the against tough Opponents

2. He moves forward so much(explains why he has a number of goals). This is at times disadvantageous especially if an opponent leads Real Madrid first. Ramos being a highly spirited player will feel desperate for a goal and start moving forward thus leaving gaps at the back.
With Marcelo and Cavajal also always pushing forward. A counter attack from an opponent easily yields into a goal.
During the times, the savior is usually Casemiro because he stay back.

Perhaps getting him better partners would work and also a back up DM for Casemiro.

LOOLOL!  I don't think the odds are gonna change that much cos of a friendly.  And the Spanish transfer window closes a month later...  So we'll see.

And Bale's staying.  Cheesy

Real is indeed in a bad position but form can be turned around even during the season.
Please note that they build a new team and a lot of players are new signings so they need time to work as a team.
I think that we have to give them some time and not judge so early.
Real Madrid defense is their biggest challenge right now. It needs a complete make over. People blame Courtois or Keylor Navas but the major problem is with the back 4 and on top of that whenever Casemiro does not play, Real Madrid tends to concede lots of goals. And then there is indiscipline Ramos, Cavajal and Nacho seem to be competing for the highest number of Red - Yellow cards in the team each season especially when it comes to vital matches.

The forward line looks decent but the back line is just horrible. So we shall see 3-2,4-3, 4-2 score lines if things are not worked up on.

I might be risking a little amount on Atletico Madrid to win La Liga this season, because Barcelona doesn't look too good either, And Atletico Madrid really put up a good fight last season until the last few matches, A repetition of the 2013-14 season could well be on the cards again.

And I'm actually feeling sorry for Zidane, This season is going to tarnish his career as a coach unless he be able to do some magic. Most of the players in the team are out of form Real really needs some fresh faces.  Not a great fan of Real Madrid but I still love Zidane and hope Real would at least be able to play the Champions league this next year (20/21).

Even though Messi is not yet retired, Barca already miss Xavi or Iniesta, which is still not replaceable until now imo.

Barcelona aren't there old self and that's as a result of them losing Xavi and iniesta although they still wins game and trophy they don't play like the Barcelona of old. Their midfield hasn't been the same since those two left. The fact is some players (especially the very best) aren't easy to replace. The retirement of messi will be the worst thing that will ever happen to Barcelona. He has been their best player for as long as I can think of and the team is built around him. Barcelona might become the new Manchester United when Messi retires.

Barcelona were never going to be the same once Xavi and Iniesta left, it was always going to be difficult to replace these two legendary players. Another mistake that Barcelona made was to let Pep leave, because post his departure Barcelona have never really played the attacking football they used to play under him. As and when Messi hangs up his boots Barcelona will crumble, and if they don’t plan it in advance they may even get relegated.

No, Please! Barca should become anything but not Man Utd(A victim of their past success). I'm also scared for Barca first two seasons Post-Messi era, they need to be prepared and a lot of players need to start stepping up very fast.

Current Match against Visel Kobe is at Halftime the score remains goalless.

That's what was felt by Real Madrid the previous season when Ronaldo went to Juventus, like something was missing from Real Madrid. But now they are getting used to it without Ronaldo. This is also what Barcelona will feel when Messi leaves or retires later. Barcelona will lose something too, because they are still dependent on messi.

Almost every team which depends on one person will fail at one point or another. Manager and the owners need to think how to build a team which can thrive even if one or two key players don't available for a match so that they can pull something as Liverpool did on their 2nd leg against Barca. Which means they should have a 2nd team with more or less the same quality as the first one. The problem is, 1st team quality players are likely going to find more playing time so they don't want to say at the bench.

That is why Barcelona if there is no messi always lacks enthusiasm and can even experience defeat. It should be true that Barcelona must get used to without messi, because we never know if someday messi is injured or even retired.
True, look at Real Madrid after Ronaldo's Departure. It was a mess and haven't yet seemingly recovered a year later. One most important aspect of a player is reliability and consistency.
Messi and Ronaldo have perfectly shown these characters for their clubs over a long time. Both are very fit players who will not spend lots of days out injured, and they always have a guaranteed big number of goals per season.
Losing them means the club will somehow struggle to get back to its top-level.

I'm not going to start talking about Barca again as my heart is still hurting from last year, no need to explain.

But tonight I would like to see Atletico thrash Real good. Yes, I know it's a friendly, but the drama as usual surrounding these ex Galacticos is stupid. I'd like them to just get worse in La Liga and allow fighting teams in Madrid to come up and show off in Champions League.

And Trofo has a great point by the way. If you succeed to nullify Messi or Ronaldo, you need 2 people to do it. Instant win.

...

That's true, but more often than not, the rest if the team would prefer to play around them rather than go for another teammate who is in open space, especially on the bigger stages.
Their teams heavily rely on them, making the rest of the team work less and fail yo reach their full potential except when handled by a credible manager.

I didn't saw it mentioned before but for me one of the biggest advantages player like Messi or Ronaldo bring to his club is the fact that there is always 2 or 3 opposition players watching him. That way all the other players have much more space to play their game. The best part about that is that it works even if Messi or Ronaldo have a bad day. Opposition will never leave them unguarded.
