It's an interesting comparison between Girona's journey with Leicester City's historic Premier League title win in the 2015/16 season. Real madrid may able to win against girona but it doesn't mean madrid will also able to win against other team. Look at how betis was preventing madrid to get three points. It means that if we have possibilities for real madrid to have bad performance at the late game.

I prefer to took girona rather than barcelona to compete with real madrid for the title race right now.

Girona have been performing brilliantly in La Liga this season and have taken the top spot in the points table. If they go to La Liga like this and can occupy the top spot then it is natural that ucl will be considered. If Girona continue like this from their place, they will surely be at the top of the points table. Girona are currently stronger after defeating Barcelona, they will surely go after good targets next time. Girona are in the top position after beating Madrid but the Barca side have now dropped far below the top of the points table. So if Girona can win the next matches according to their great performance then there is definitely a possibility to become champions in La Liga.
