Im aware of how hard athletico club to make attack against betis. betis used full defensive strategy and it used only counter attack to give pressure to the athletic club. It was working successfully caused by willian jose was able helping betis to take full points from athletic club at this moment.
It is not difficult to predict the result of this match. The team with fully defensive strategy has more chance to build a better attack caused by the counter attack was coming when its opponent feel so confidence to build more and more attacks.

Jose's volley shoot was very strong. The keeper could not block it by athletic club's goal keeper. Athletic clubs was making attacks against betis intensively with the hope to make the result will be draw.
All of efforts that already made by athletic clubs was useless caused by none of these attacks were giving goal.

Athletic club shall have learned from its mistake. Never try to let its opponent to get a free space.

the gap of 7 points is a huge gap considering that there are only 5 games left in the league. But from the remaining 5 matches that Real Sociedad has, they have quite tough opponents such as Girona, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla, and if they don't manage to make the best possible results, of course they will be replaced by Villarreal who have opponents who easier.

Betis early goal separated the two teams from that early moment of the match till the end and Athletic club still left with a red card at their home stadium which is a terribly bad performance. The season is about to end and some teams will definitely start flopping in their performance which happens to be the case of Athletic club yesterday. If Betis can maintain their win till the end of season they might replace Villarreal who still has Atletico Madrid to play.

It's not about whether the club was winning or lose. it's about madrid was conceding so many goals against some opponents in la liga. That means if the defensive line of madrid looks very weak right now.

Although I can't say that Valencia played well against Villarreal. But I also appreciate Valencia's defensive strategy in that match. Lately I haven't seen Real madrid like the team I usually see, it seems they have lost something of a touch that made it difficult for them to end the game in a win. So true, Real Madrid were so convinced with the players they have and not ready to sign in players. The occurrence of injury in some of their players is one of the problems Real Madrid is not able to be much consistent in performance in laliga. If they had signed some players Real Madrid would have been in good form to win most of their games to gain high points. If Real Madrid miss winning the champions league I think this can also be the reason lose, because the injury problem may reduce the stability of the players in the Champions League game.

@len01 even if Real finish in third spot they’ll yet be okay till they win the champions league but if they don’t win the champions league and finish third then Carlo will be immediately sacked. Also I too didn’t see Atletico rising up to the second spot but I strongly feel that Real Madrid will find a way to reclaim that second spot by the time this season ends.

I think that if ancelotti has been giving an answer regarding such question. As far as i remember if madrid is still having enough players to play this season. that's why ancelotti didn't wanna try to spend money to buy the new players.
It may be different in summer as real madrid has been getting some positive feedbacks. It's started from how real madrid is also interesting to sign bellingham. The club is also seriously trying to negotiate with dortmund regarding bellingham's transfer.
Barcelona needs to win in upcoming match to get la liga grophy for this season. Real madrid is not aiming at laliga anymore as the club was putting its attention to the UCL and del rey.

Ancelotti is a very wise coach. He thinks that if real madrid is still capable enough to win more trophies and that's why he was not thinking to increase the. quality from the team by buying the new player.
It will be different for the next season as real madrid has been making very big preparations by targeting so many good names in the market to be a part from the club.
