This is not quite the time to make judgments about the absolute best team in Europe. I would probably wait for a couple of final round Champions League games.

Apart from that how would you make a difference between Real Madrid and Manchester City at this point? How would you argue that aspect X or Y makes Real Madrid the better team? Because they haven't lost a game thus far? Well, La Liga isn't that strong and winning a clasico at home is of course possible for such a strong team. But does that make Real better than City? I hope we will find out soon and see the two meet each other in the CL games again. That would be amazing for many reasons Wink

Real Madrid and Barcelona have impressed in Laliga so far with only 3 points adrift between 1 & 2 positions.
Real Madrid seems to be safe to get 3 points in the next match considering that Girona is not a very strong opponent to make Real Madrid drop points.

Meanwhile, Barcelona, who has now recovered from the El Clasico defeat, also seems to have a good chance of being favorites in the match against Valencia. Here Barcelona is superior in terms of quality and consistency of the match even if they fail to win against Bayern Munich in the Champions League matchday 5.

The probability of both teams Real Madrid or Barcelona both winning, so it's not really surprising if these two teams both win in their respective match this weekend.

I always respected Bilbao a lot, we are talking about a team that only gets player one certain region, and nobody else as far as I know, and they still manage to do great even with that.

Totally agree. As I posted a few weeks ago in this same thread, their policy for selecting players is one of the most restrictive in the world (if not the most). Simplifying a lot, you have to be Basque in order to play in the team (in its broadest definition: Navarreses and Basque-frenchs are welcome); otherwise, you could still qualify to play in Athletic Club, if you were trained in sports in a Basque quarry.

On the other hand, they have never in their entire history been downgraded, so it is more than 100 years that they have stayed playing in the first division, or La Liga. It is a merit worthy of recognition.

Actually what brought them to this position was not only Barcelona but indeed from the 4 matches they did of course this was their main factor.
They couldn't do well in the last 4 matches. 2 Draws and 2 loses is definitely not something good for them if they really want to play better than the previous season.
Currently the chance is still there because Villarreal has not returned to its previous performance but indeed in the last few games of course Villarreal is better.

Of course it will be a little different and against Bayern they will have to try until the final whistle because it will be very disappointing if they have to lose or draw this match, considering with a result like that their chances in the Champions League are clearly closed.
With the worst possibility of them failing to advance to the next round it is clear this will have a huge impact on their finances and of course this is not what Barcelona expect.
