So with Barcelona not in the Champions League then I think they will be very focused on Laliga or any other competition they are in including the Europa League if they qualify.

I understand what you want but you seem to be forgetting something that the Ballon d'Or doesn't only come from his individual performances but from the point of view of his personal achievements with the team as well.
And the fact that he's still been doing pretty well this season is true but when he failed to get past the Champions League for Barcelona and still isn't safe in La Liga it's clearly still an influence so I'm not really sure about Lewandowski.

I think it's too early to say who deserves the Ballon D'or award. Lewandowski's performance with Barcelona is good but that doesn't mean that he will continue to put on such performances without any decline. Karim Benzema have not had a pleasant season because of injuries. His latest thigh injury kept him out of play for almost two weeks. But Robert Lewandowski have had a stable season and that is why he is far ahead of Benzema in goals. I think it is Lewandowski's time to conquer not only the La Liga but the world.

Karim Benzema have not had a pleasant season because of injuries. His latest thigh injury kept him out of play for almost two weeks. But Robert Lewandowski have had a stable season and that is why he is far ahead of Benzema in goals. I think it is Lewandowski's time to conquer not only the La Liga but the world.

But in this case we also know that after the injury Benzema still cannot return to his former form. Regardless this is a little bit out of my expectations because apart from expecting competition in the table between Barcelona and Madrid I would also like to see a rivalry between Benzema and Lewandowski but now it looks like something like this has yet to be seen.
