@hd49728 Xavi started well, but he’s trying hard to please the board by taking decisions like keeping De Jong out of the team or playing him in defence and when a coach does that it effects the entire team’s morale.

Furthermore even though they’re out of the champions league they can yet challenge for the La Liga title if Xavi choses player’s on their merits and tweaks his system to accommodate his current set of player’s, but if he choses to repeat his mistakes then he’ll not win the league title this season too.

They are obsessed with tiki taka but they did not realize that tiki taka has already been decrypted by so many coaches and teams. If they keep continuing to obsess with tiki taka, they are self-damage their progress to rebuild the club.

Not mention their player quality nowadays is worse than years ago and they should accept a fact that Barcelona nowadays are no longer belong to most powerful clubs in the Europe. If they accept it, they will have a more relevant approach, use a better tactics for their players.

Additionally, a club can not rely solely on attacking to win matches and titles. They can if their attacking system is dominating in all matches and can cover weakness of defense. In reality, it is not what Barcelona attacking system have in this season.

I disagree with this comparison. Barcelona have a lower quality than Bayern Munich and they are completely at different levels. Bayern belongs to Tier 1 and Barcelona belong to somewhere in between Tier 2 and Tier 3. That is why they will join Europa League soon.

I agree that both De Jong and Fati should be given more opportunities to play. They are both good players especially De Jong who was a very important player for Barcelona before the return of Xavi.

Fati actually needs chance to play and improve after a long injury in the past season. I don't expect an outstanding performance instantly from Fati but Xavi must give this player more playing time.

Barcelona have the required players to meet up Bayern Munich strength in UEFEA and the both team players have the finished strikers with skillful wingers. There's absolutely nothing wrong with barça players, it's just that Xavi always start with the wrong lineups. He should start the good players other than the familiar ones, like Frankie de Jong who have the strength to defend and he's also creative. There are also some players in the team that he give them insufficient playing time like Ansu Fati, I believe Fati is one key player because he's versatile and always good with forcing the ball to his opponents box. It's time for Xavi to drop the old players and start with the young ones who are eager to play games.

You don't seem to understand the problem of Barcelona. Barcelona has ideology problem and coaching problem. Barcelona team has great individual players like Lewandowski, Raphinha, Dembele, Fati, De Jong and many more that I cannot mention. They have players that can match Bayern Munich and other clubs but Xavi got it wrong. Why do you want Dembele to leave? Is Dembele the problem of Barcelona?

The issue with Barcelona is that they were kicked out of the Champions League in a group where they should have become second with their squad. Losing againt Bayern first leg and second leg is ok, that can happen, but against Inter Milan, which is not that strong as it used to be in former seasons, they should have been able to get through with their squad. Many Barcelona players are in great shape and they have Lewandowski on top of that. Anyway, you are right that Spanish soccer is having a hard time right now. Atletico against Leverkusen would have been a clear cut case years ago, but now they can't even win their home game against Leverkusen.

We also see that Atletico isn't the team it used to be in La Liga. Don't score that much, but above all don't concede many goals. That was their strength and that is kind of gone currently.

Mostly poeple in here are always focusing to the barcelona caused by they were over reacting with the performance from lewandowski. Sevilla has been kicking out from champion league as well. Atletico madrid has no chance anymore to go to the last 16. It seems like la liga groups who already kicked out from champion league will be facing a big pressure. I meant the pressure from champion league may still there. They will be feeling disappointed with their result in the. champion league.
It seems all of al liga clubs in the champion leagues are giving bad result except king real madrid which is always going to the last 16. La liga fan must be proud madrid. A team that is always consistent with good result.

Winning the champions league demands some brilliance of the coach hard work of the players excellence of some individual performance in some big game's to send a team through a rough path. Just like you said they are in the right direction they will get the bigger squad they use to be and posses. Dembele needs to go, Xavi needs to get back to the under twenty three and bring in young players who are ready to play for the club. Barcelona are not in the level of Bayern Munich that's quite observable

They have bad face to face records with Bayern Munich and even with Messi, they were completely destroyed a few years ago. What do Barcelona fans expect that they can beat Bayern Munich with the quality they have now? It is unrealistic belief from their fans.

In Champions League, this season is a complete failure for Barcelona. They only won 1 match and had worse performance than expected. Their ending was known after the win of Inter Milan against Plzen too. The defeated by Bayern Munich does not make things too worse for Barcelona. They still have La Liga to focus on and their chance is still good enough. Personally they should focus on La Liga rather than split their concentration for both La Liga and Europa League.

They must forget about the past and accept the fact that their club will need a few years to rebuild. They are on a right track with some young players like Pedri, Gavi, Ansu Fati and the amazing return to best form of Dembele. They are having a squad with young players to aim at the near future but it takes time, a few years.

They can not ask these players to win La Liga in this season or even the next one. In Champions League, they might have gradual improvement but it is different challenge to win it. Champions League requires luck to win that title too.

Because there are still many fans who haven't move on from past. They still think Barcelona is the same club that have Pep and Messi on there. In fact Barcelona now is different with past, they are stumble, they can't focus with or many match on the same time. We have to be willing in situation, They maybe get with the same achievement like the past, as runner up or don't get any title for this session because on Europa league also have the strong club with the same target.

Well, why didn't the world come together with a wedge on only one Champions League, and if, say, Lewandowski wins the World Cup with his national team, or at least gets to the final of the tournament, and also wins La Liga, the Europa League with Barcelona, then I think that would be quite enough to win Ballon d'Or Another question is that this is all problematic enough for everything to work out at the same time, but I just want to say that the team's departure from the Champions League does not mean automatic exclusion from the contenders for the prestigious trophy.

Lewandowski's form was very good in the past two seasons and if you ask me I will simply say he deserved to win the award but for this year Benzema deserves it because his performance vis statistics beats that of every other Ballon d'or  candidate. He achieved a lot and also helped his team achieve reputable trophies also and he is still performing and making important contributions this season.

Barcelona has run aground in the UCL. So I don't think Lewandowski will get the Ballon d'Or either. Barcelona in La Liga must compete with Real Madrid which may be also difficult to defeat although they also have the chance. So does the Europan League, there are also still many other big clubs that are competing. Barcelona may experience also a bad season this time again. So, they must try harder and stronger to get at least one trophy. Haaland is the closest candidate for now. I don't know what is wrong with him about this. He has scored a lot of goals so far actually. But I don't see any goal scored by him against their biggest opponents so far. Lewandowski wasn't like this while he was playing for Bayern Munich. Something has changed about him after joining Barcelona. The season is still long of course and he has enough time to make up for this in the remaining big games. They will need him a lot for achieving the La Liga title.

Lewa is really unlucky, he did really well in every season but the ballon dor still not in his closet, the player is a real scoring machine but unfortunately there is always something that prevent him from getting the ballon dor and i don't think things will be different this season

In the end, it is the young players now who are ready to take over this because regeneration must happen sooner or later. Obviously these two players have something to consider now especially with their very good form this season but obviously there have to be other candidates and I don't think it's impossible that Vini can also be on the list for the next few seasons and I'm also expecting Valverde with better performance.

why in this thread people only talk more about barcelona and barcelona players? joke, speaking of barcelona, today they were eliminated from the champions league, but what is sadder is that barcelona failed to score at least 1 goal. for a team that has a great player and they haven't managed to score at least 1 goal this is something very strange but it's also something for the barcelona coach needs to see that barcelona is in need of two more forwards, if the barcelona coach can't get it hire two strikers so they won't be strong enough to win the next champions league and even there they might have trouble winning games

Has anyone watched the Atletico Madrid game? they were a disappointment in the european camps league, they wasted a lot of opportunities, i watched the game and it was disappointing

Especially now that they are out of the Champions League it is clear the chances of getting the Ballon d'Or are difficult for Lewa now.
All he has to do is play well at the moment in order to set an individual record as a striker in La Liga.

Lewandowski don't have anything to do with Ballon d'Or for the fact Barcelona could qualify in champions league.  One of the problem of Barcelona they never took the Champions League game serious and I think this the reason why it ended up this way. I'm not very sure if Barcelona can be very consistent in laliga, but Barcelona can be consistent and Lewadowski is also consistent in scoring their is to win atleast something. This time Ballon d'Or is for players like Halland,  sadio Mane and others.
