Yes, there are always players who will compete in the heat of the El Clasico match. This is a new era after the previous Ronaldo and Messi. Actually it's not just that player, before there was a trio that competed, at Real Madrid there was a BBC trio and in Barcelona with its MSN.
Yesterday's friendly was a new experience for Lewandowski how hot the tension was between these two rivals.

Did I hear any rumors that Messi is returning to Barcelona? do you have this information?

I wouldn't want it to be an old heated broth, is there a plan to "use" his talent at best or is it just a marketing operation to capture nostalgic fans?

I stink a lot of commercial operation

I don't think, Barcelona coach will allow that to happen in his time because their coach do everything possible within his power to make Messi stay with them and to enjoy the good plan they have for him but he leave the team to joined PSG team. Now that Barcelona coach has gotten new talented players in this season,I don't think they need Messi before they can perform well in next season, because all those new players has promised their fans to give them victory in all matches in this tournament. I believe, Messi still like to go back to his formal team in this season but Barcelona coach  will not allow him in this season than to try all those new talented squads in this season.

I have mixed feelings about the possible return of Messi for Barcelona. The reason why I'm not very certain of this is that Xavi has been rebuilding the team for a long time. In his new game plan we don't see any player who is the main focus. Messi was exactly like this before he signed for PSG. Their last moments with Messi were still problematic even though Messi was performing wonderfully. Barcelona needed some change in the team and Xavi is doing it now. I think that Barcelona should continue with this system without Messi for one more season at least to see what will happen.

Xavi is building a new team, but no matter how you build the team, there is always room for Messi, right? You always want that on your team, even if you are working with a new team. However, it should not be the case that you build a team to serve Messi, Messi must then function well as a player just like any other player. I think everyone really wants Messi to return to Barcelona.
It's caused by messi was one of barcelona's legend. That being said that as long as he can play and barcelona will always open for him. he can back to the barcelona anytime but the main thing must be if barcelona must have a very good financial to pay him.
Barcelona's fans will be so happy to see him back again to the barcelona. Messi has known as icon of barcelona in the past before it joined with PSG.

but for Barcelona at this time it is already very good even without messi though. But the dream of bringing in Messi next year would also be very good if it came true.

you are right, even without messi in the barcelona squad, currently barcelona already has a strong and good squad in terms of front lines.
However, the management of the Barcelona club wants Messi to return to Camp Nou to repair the relationship that had broken after Messi's departure to PSG. Besides that, Barcelona fans are very enthusiastic about hearing the rumors regarding Messi and have high hopes for his return to Cam Nou.

And I think Xavi's words are correct, Barcelona has not yet recovered from the financial crisis, maybe after the end of this season's contract, Messi can return to Camp Nou without spending a big budget as a dowry, Messi is a living legend for Barcelona.

On the other hand, Messi wants to give the Champions League trophy to PSG.

Some media said that if Xavi was indeed interested in a reunion with his former partner, but for now it might be difficult to realize considering Messi still has a contract with PSG, I think maybe the end of next season could happen if Messi contract with PSG has been ended,
Indeed, Xavi himself wants Messi to come back to Barcelona, but not for this season, it is for the free transfer in 2023. However, we will not know if PSG will let it or not. Messi loves Barcelona s much, I am pretty sure that if Messi is in the free transfer, he may accept the deal with Barcelona.

Will it be more interesting when Messi comes home to Barcelona and Ronaldo also to Real Madrid and they meet to match in El Classico again next season? This will be very interesting for their last carrier in football right? Just my imagination  Grin
if next season after messi's contract with PSG ends and messi chooses to return to barcelona. then there will be an explosion of enthusiasm from the Barcelona fans. especially if, as you said, cristiano ronaldo returns to real madrid. hahahaha it would be so much fun to watch it. it will be like a DEJAVU feeling. ha ha ha ha

Fo now, if Barcelona bring in Messi, they have to pay him at least equal tih his salary in PSG. And, they must pay for players that already out with free status, and buy him back. Its remind me with Pogba, LOL. With current financial condition, it will be hard for barcelona to bring in back Messi. Buying him will be expensive, don't forget, Messi's salary also very high, this is a difficult decision for Xavi.
I agree, bring back Messi to Camp Nou isn't a good idea. He has a high salary and PSG won't let him leave with cheap transfer fees. Barcelona will spend too much money on Messi, so they may risk their financial status again. Also, Barcelona already has Raphinha and Dembele who played as right-wingers, Barcelona already has Lewandowski and Aubameyang as center-forwards. Where is Messi to play in Barcelona lineups? Bringing Messi back will ruin the current best lineups and hinder the development of young players.

It's impossible indeed for Messi to come back even though he is still very well remembered at Barcelona but that's the problem the financials are not over so it's difficult for Messi to come back and I think Xavi is able to build his team without Messi to get back to the top. I don't know, but Barcelona always want to bring in expensive players and fantastic salaries, but that's proof they are able to somehow manage Barcelona's debt back or not but get an injection of funds but it can all be done. Rumors also spread that Barcelona get big funds from broadcasting rights and sponsors.
It's not just that Xavi would like Messi to return to Barcelona and the player himself would also dream about it. These are all hypothetical dreams with an eye on next year, but for now the reality is that Messi has an existing contract with Paris Saint-Germain and neither the club nor the player himself even hypothetically expressed a desire to end cooperation this season. But what will happen next year is a separate story, but even there Paris Saint-Germain has an option to extend the contract for another season, and here everything depends on how Messi himself, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona will spend this season.

I may believe they are in debt again with a number of teams involved in player transfers, but I don't know I think Barcelona seems brave enough to do it. Spotify is their new sponsor, there might be a lot of funding from that sponsor this season.
Barcelona has got money from some sponsorships and they also got huge money by selling broadcasting rights. I think they have no problem with finances right now, they may have a problem with players' salaries then. So, it is possible that they will be in debt again if they don't sell some players who have big salaries in Barcelona in the next 1-2 seasons. However, we must appreciate what Barcelona achieved in this transfer window. It is not easy to ensure many top players to join Barcelona with bad rumors spreading about their financial status.

Barcelona sold broadcasting rights to raise funds this season with the aim of buying players. They signed Raphinha and Lewandowski for a high fee, they also signed Dembele and Kessie and Christensen and I thought that was really good.

Smart is not enough, there must be skills

I don't, I no longer expect Messi to return to Barcelona anytime soon even though he is a club legend until now. Barcelona's current financial situation will not be able to afford his high wages, and somehow I think even if they could afford Lewandowski, Raphinha and sign a number of other players it would be a completely different matter.

At this point in time,I don't think Messi will want to go to Barcelona again,I am aware of the fact that Messi is a Barcelona fan,and will still remain a fan but I just don't think he will want to come back to Barca now.He must Atleast try to win the champions league trophy with another club, before he will go back to Barcelona, because I know he will want to hang his boot their as a legend.
About Messi I would no longer think he would come back as a player but he would come back as a coach, that's more likely for him. In the future he will return after retiring because he knows Barcelona is his home since childhood even though now he is with PSG.

Barcelona will try to focus on improving their quality and performance with the current players. Xavi started to motivate them to keep winning and now we can really see a big difference in their performance. I hope Barcelona are able to win the title again at the end of the season, it will be great to look forward to.

Recently, there was news that PSG striker Neymar opportunity leave Paris Saint-Germain, although I don't see a strong reason for him to leave, but if that happens, Messi's chances of staying at PSG will be more open. It's hard to believe Messi would agree to return to Barcelona, he said goodbye to Barcelona last season and I'm not sure he will return, plus the arrival of Barcelona's new star Robert Lewandowski.
Things are not easy right now for this as media is pointing out because we all know Barcelona is having serious problem in finances, and they can't afford him with his current salary, and now it's all depend on his form in PSG in coming season if he fails to perform good then surely it's going to be burden on Barcelona, and they can't afford this all even right now they are working hard on De Jong for cut 40% salary if he wants to stay at club because he is very high salary person, and they have issues with this.

Xavi is working hard on this new team hopefully he will be successful, and this team will give him good results otherwise it's going to be disaster for Barcelona as they are already under huge debit and have no enough sources to settle this all.

I'm just sure Messi will return to Barcelona not as a player but more likely as a coach or whatever. He may be able to join for free next season but only if he is willing to cut some of his hefty salary I doubt about that actually so there is little chance of seeing him as a Barcelona player again next season or the next.

PSG probably won't let him leave for free at the end of next season and it's possible that Messi will get another year on his contract before the end of this season. He looks more comfortable now at PSG and as we can see, Messi has also managed to score a few goals during this pre-season.
I am not sure about that. Maybe he will play another season or two with PSG, but there could come a time when he is 35-36 or even 37 where he would be wanting to retire back in Barcelona. He may not be the player he used to be by that time, but that will mean that we are talking about Messi here no matter what.

So, he could come back with like 5 million salary or even maybe less who knows, and then we would talk about something possible and would be something about finances already done by that time, they could afford that. It is really a logical next step, but if he doesn't do that then Messi would definitely be 100% amazing coach for sure, there is no denying that.

Regarding this, I think it is not only financial problems that are an obstacle for Barcelona, but it will be difficult to bring Messi to Camp Nou.
messi and barcelona relationship is not very good after the departure of messi last year, i am very interested in the continued development of this rumour.
Messi is under contract until 2023 with Xavi already trying to bring the player back to his home as much as possible. Of course Messi can still be competent and develop, it is even estimated that Messi's development at PSG is not significant. Because Messi has to share a seat. The passion that Xavi showed really led to the return of the El Clasico era. I think the opportunity is still wide open.

Recently, there was news that PSG striker Neymar opportunity leave Paris Saint-Germain, although I don't see a strong reason for him to leave, but if that happens, Messi's chances of staying at PSG will be more open.
