Betis weren't a very clear favourite in that game but it didn't matter to them anyway. Bookmakers were expecting Espanyol to put up a good fight against them as it seems. But they were wrong about it. Espanyol got ahead first, yeah. But this didn't keep Betis away from a solid victory like 4-1. This was unexpected for even Betis fans I guess. Grin

They are one of the special teams of the season and I hope that they can keep this up. It is nice to see different teams at the top also.

Espanyol were beaten brutally last week. Although, their were probably the host, but they could not withstand Betis's squad, and lost with 3 goals difference. Betis are likely to end this season at the 3rd place, because Sevilla are keeping a nice gap from them. I will really love to see them play in the Champions League next season. Real Betis players are cooperative, which mades it difficult most of the time for them to lose a game. They are indeed doing greatly and have only lost 6 matches so far in the La Liga.

A real huge risk for xavi to choose youngster over the experienced one.

Betis are doing a great job now. They destroyed Espanyol by 4-1 too and continued on their dream season. As long as they don't lose their focus, it seems like they won't lose games too easily. They are a strongly-built team now and Pellegrini is also a great manager. It looks like they can finish this season at one of the top places. Maybe it wouldn't be higher than the third place as long as Real Madrid and Sevilla are like this. But they can finish it as the third team which would be a great achievement for them surely.

Although often experiencing difficulties in every game, barcelona is now starting to be stable enough to get points in the league, slowly they are starting to approach the top 4 position and this is a threat to athletico who actually ran quite fast at the beginning of the season from barcelona, although not fully improved but xavi looks to have managed to overcome the pressure by improving the quality of Barcelona current game.

I don't know what Xavi has improved at Barcelona, in my opinion they have turned into a dump that can hardly beat outsiders like Alaves or Mallorca! If they qualify for the Champions League next season, it will be a miracle...But I don't think a miracle will happen, because next up are games against strong opponents like Atletico and Espanyol, as well as matches against Napoli in the Europa League!

I think that the most impressive match of the weekend was Atletico Madrid - Valencia. Atletico Madrid have been having really big problems for some time. And in this match, they had difficulties too. Valencia got 2-0 ahead and I was like they were going to lose another match. But their comeback was just splendid to watch. Their first goal came in the 64th minute and gave hope for them. And they scored two goals in the stoppage time by a two-minute interval. That was really good and reminded me of the Leicester - Tottenham match in the EPL. Grin

You're right they could score in the second half and that too in crucial minutes. If only the Real Madrid players realized the opportunity in the early minutes and didn't let Elche players steal with a score of 2 points. This of course has changed the flow of the game and the pressure created by Real Madrid was in the last minute. I marked some Madrid games, they drew against Cadiz, then won against Elche and they played again and drew. Maybe you are right Madrid underestimate Elche too much, they are too sure they will win. Madrid dropped 2 points, it makes Sevilla will get closer and easier to catch Madrid for the Spanish league champions.
