Barcelona was in a terrible state before tht arrival of Xavi. And he is just trying his possible best to put Barca back on track. But, what people don't understand is that this will take some time. Atletico Madrid performance are poor, they lost all their last 4 matches, and one of the problem Atletico seems to have is are defense. However, If Barcelona play their next matches without losing, they will surely take over Atletico Madrid's place.

Maybe in the short term it's difficult. Relying on players from the academy could not guarantee they would be successful. There are a lot of problems at Barcelona so this has an impact on their achievements.
Maybe if for the long term they can be successful again. Attempts to sign Xavi also can not be hopeful, because he is limited by the crisis to choose new players. Xavi is currently only maximizing what Barcelona have.

Xavi was a celebrity as a player at Barcelona. Then definitely one of the best midfielders in the world along with Iniesta on that team. Doesn't he just have too little coaching experience? Easy to say, but an experienced coach will not be happy to manage Barcelona at the moment. Xavi seems to be the best option at the moment. They do have potential, but all the puzzle pieces have to fit together well with these players.

People (including me) started getting curious about which players Barcelona will go after in this January transfer window. I believe that their priority should be signing a solid striker. Because Aguero has retired and there is no very strong striker in the team now. Depay is not a natural striker and Braithwaite has been injured for a very long time. Even if he bounces back soon, they can't make do with only him in the end. It looks like the biggest target is Aubameyang now. He would make a very good contribution to the team so I hope that they can end this deal successfully.

Maybe, and even then if Barcelona's finances improve at the beginning of the year. Because as we know, the transfer window next season will be an obstacle for Barcelona who wants to bring in solid players. They have not recovered from the financial crisis that hit. That's why many don't expect too much, only having brought in Ferran Torres, he has done everything he can. Moreover, Xavi did not want to bother with the players they made it to be, they were only required to last longer if they did not want to be eliminated faster.

Barcelona should get Edison Cavani as the replacement for Kun Aguero.
Aubameyang is a good option, but has lost his touch, has good pace which could be very vital against defense.
Xavi will get the team in a good shape, I am certain Barcelona will be in the first four soon.
An upgrade in the defense would do.
Cavani would be a great addition for 1.5 years. He doesn't want big salary and he still has ability to score goals. Agüero was a big loss to all football fans but health comes first. Aubameyang must be expensive so Barca's first target is Cavani logically.
If they sell Umtiti, Coutinho and Dest they can make a space for Cavani and if possible, Ferran Torres. That would be the biggest transfer they can do.

^ You know, Umiti, Coutinho, and Dest Barcelona are of no use to the team. I can say, Coutinho was a very talented player. But he could not adapt to the Barcelona team for a reason. At the same time, although Dembele is skilled enough, but he is not able to perform well.
Barcelona should be affordable. Unnecessary players should be put on the bench and sold without paying wages.

Barcelona certainly has some value in his team. Not enough to get out of debt, but to keep these players and pay an expensive salary does not seem an option to me either. In addition, players' contracts expire on their own, I don't think they like to renew from a sporting point of view. And Barcelona can no longer pay that salary.

It's a tough year for Barcelona. The team hasn't gotten used to each other yet and they don't have good players like before. I don't think they can do much in the next transfer window. First of all, the financial situation of the team needs to be improved.
It will be a long journey with Xavi, the goal of the team for a year or two will not be to become the leader of the league. They can go back to the good old days after a few years, they know it's not an easy process

Judging by the fact that a few months ago Barcelona refused to refinance its debt, they have some financial considerations (one can assume that they are positive). My high hopes are connected with the fact that the start of the Super League will be announced, and in this case, Barcelona will very quickly solve all its financial problems.
Impossible super league get allowed from UEFA where most hate competition, I think all club need get much money and waiting how UEFA transparent about how much money getting from advertisement and broadcast. The UEFA afraid if super league really happen and have other side advertisement will pay higher than club getting from Champion league, not only Barcelona but also all club will get much benefit if super league allowed and have allocation much money for team participants where get impact with covid 19 and they faced financial crisis.

Much eyes on Barcelona and Xavi Hernandez, failing to realize he just came in and ain't no magician.
Take a good look at Athletico Madrid who should be dominating the La liga, they have failed woefully, game's after game's.
They should try to keep up else Barcelona will come ahead of them in a short time.
They must have lost drive.

Next week matchday 19 where all team playing on 2nd January I think Barcelona have great chance against with Mallorca and Atletico Madrid faced with under dog team Rayo Vallecano. Exactly Barcelona should easy get three points although playing as away on Mallorca but still not consistent performance show by Barcelona right now give us little doubt will this team back top performance and pass on champion standing position? although left many match we can't have bigger expectation with Barcelona become success team with financial crisis.

I also don't believe Sevilla can compete with Real Madrid for the La Liga trophy this season. Because it will be difficult for Sevilla to play consistently
until the end of the season, even I predict Sevilla will start dropping points in the next few games.
You may be correct. Sevilla attackers aren't enough to compete for the title, it is the main problem of this team. They have strong defenders but do not look quite strong in the attacking line. Competing for the title needs a proper squad, they must be strong in defense, midfield, and attacking. I don't see it on Sevilla squad this time, but maybe they will buy some good attackers in the next transfer window.

One of the reasons Sevilla can be in second place right now, is because Sevilla's defense is very strong. Sevilla is the team that has conceded the fewest
goals so far, Sevilla's defense is very difficult to pass. Unfortunately Sevilla's front line is less productive, therefore the difference in the number of goals
created by Real Madrid and Sevilla is quite far. If Sevilla want to win the La Liga trophy and compete with Real Madrid, Sevilla must improve their front line,
to be even more productive. Because to be able to win many matches, it is not enough to keep the defense from conceding, but they have to be able to score
a lot of goals too. Hopefully this January transfer window Sevilla can buy a good striker, in order to help Sevilla win many victories, then Sevilla can
become serious competitors for Real Madrid.

Even though Barcelona is still not good enough but I personally am still a little sure Barcelona will be able to recover better if not in the near future, maybe for the next seasons. Getting the title is not something easy, but with Barcelona able to compete again in the top four then of course it is something good progress as well.
to pursue points to the top 4 standings this season is still possible for Barca. indeed it will require a harder performance because the teams above Barca at the moment are not bad either.
Adjustments from the coaching team and players of course take time to be able to run a good strategy in every match. and Barca hasn't got that. current coaching at Barca must immediately find the best ingredients to revive the spirit of the game Barca.

Atletico Madrid have been continually disappointing me due to an unknown reason. Something has changed about them and they started losing so many times. They are on a losing streak of four games now which is very alarming. I wonder if there is some kind of in-team problem that they still haven't managed to solve. Because normally, I haven't seen Simeone's Atletico Madrid like this for a very long time.
This season we don't find athletico madrid like we did last season, honestly I don't expect that last season's champions lose their form this season and slowly they continue to drop points from real madrid who are at the top right now,  I think with the return of griezman to the squad will make Atletico stronger but this season they are out of the championship competition too soon.
now they have lost 4 times in a row and this has knocked them out of the top 4 position now.
their form these past few weeks has been very poor and this is very unfortunate for them.
After the injury, Suarez has not shown a good performance again and this makes their supply of goals increasingly low.
I feel like Simone should start racking her brains now so that the losing streak doesn't last too long.
now is a break for the players, they have to make good use of this

Suarez is not able to play well, at the same time none of the attacking players of the team can score. They have lost the last 4 matches, they have conceded 8 goals in these 4 matches. On the other hand, they managed to score only 3 goals. They have lost to weaker teams Mallorca and Granada. Which was unexpected. As the offensive line deteriorated, so did the defensive performance. If the defensive players were experienced then they might not have lost, they could have shared the points.
Atlético are currently in a fairly difficult transition period,
Their current striker is less striking when compared to last season.
On the other hand, Suarez has not been able to find his best game until now.
This vacation is long enough and good enough for them to reflect and make a plan to make their game more alive later.

There are several names that continue to be associated with barcelona at the moment, aubameyang, arthur carbal, edisson cavani and also ferran torres which they have managed to get now, with barcelona current financial condition which is quite bad, it looks like barcelona will not be targeting great young players who It's expensive, but in fact, some of the names that are rumored to continue to be Barcelona main targets this season are players who have cheap prices, marginalized from their club and players who are quite old and experienced, but one name that is quite interesting for me is Arthur Carbal, who is a young and quite great player with Basel, with his sharpness in scoring goals will certainly be able to greatly help Barcelona in improving their performance this season, besides the cheap price of Arthur Carbal will certainly not be too burdensome for Barcelona finances at this time.

Hardly anyone seriously perceived Sevilla as a real rival of Real - they do not have enough strength to go through the entire season exactly. The only potential competitor was Atlético, but it unexpectedly fell into the middle of the standings in just a few matches and ended up next to Barcelona.
As for the odds for Barcelona, they have really grown fantastically, the problem is that Barcelona is playing according to these odds.
This won't be real Madrid great season at all but a season where Sevilla is looking as beginning there closest rival then you can understand the situation of Barcelona and Atletico madrid, I think it's been a poor laliga season thiay affect view finances the league usually gets when most recently Barcelona had Messi, I don't have interest to watch any laliga match not even if it's the el-classico. Barcelona and Atletico should do their utmost best gi be amongst the top five teams.

Probably it is not Real's problem that the main competitors are experiencing a crisis. How strong Real Madrid is this season we will see from the Champions League. As for El Classico, I like to watch it in any form, not just when Ronaldo and Messi are playing. This is a historical confrontation and it is interesting regardless of the names.
