You have a point about attacking talent, but the formation and way they're playing now is prohibitive to those talents, plus we can't keep asking Suarez to keep playing when he's not fully fit.

Setien always keeps on changing the attacking player positions so he will atleast find someone to replace in next two matches. They have young player Ansu Fati, new signing Martin Braithwaite and even sometimes he rolls down Vidal in attacking line. They have plenty of players who have played in the usual formation Setien rolls so they are kinda bit adjusted with it.

I think Fati will be one starting in next along with Mesi and Suarez in attacking line. He was out from suspension in previous one. Tho can't say for sure.

kawetsriyanto Damn just read about the severity of Griezmann's injury. It's like the bad news just can't stop coming for my beloved Barca. And just as he was beginning to click with the team too, not withstanding that open goal miss in the last game!

It's very unlucky that he is going to miss the last two games of the championship.
However, he is lucky that he is going to be out for that period. It could be very long and he might have lost the beginning of the next season.
Barca can replace him for two matches.

Just when Griezmann found some good form, this happens:

rumours say he could miss the last two games in La Liga.
It is bad for Griezmann, but he has done a great job. It is time for him to take a rest for a while and see how his teammate playing. For me, it is no problem for Barcelona since they have many attackers. Or the coach can change the formation if it's lacking in the number of attackers. Anyway, I hope Griezmann can come back to play again faster than the prediction.  Wink

Mallorca lost, which means Eibar and Valladolid are safe from relegation. Now the relagation battle will be between four teams: Mallorca, Leganes, Celta, Alaves. Gonna be an intense match tomorrow between Getafe and Alaves.

We also have news from the spanish 2nd division: Cadiz CF are promoted to La Liga https://twitter.com/Cadiz_CF/status/1282430567968133120

anyhow, just added Sevilla ML at 1.42 odds to a 3 fold with a couple of EPL games. Winnable game for Sevilla, unless the starting XI plays with their eyes closed for the entire match.

I have them on my ticket as well. Winnable you say, I say if the don't win this one they don't deserve European places. They are playing against Mallorca which managed to get full 5 points from 17 away games. Don't remember I ever saw such bad away stats.
pretty easy, eh? last result i needed to win my last acca of the weekend  Cool

I guess the rate at which La Liga games are being rushed is kind of affecting Barcelona, their goal scoring rate has declined, lots of under 2.5 goals, it was an interesting match though but much was expected from Barcelona, the sole aim is to achieve 3 points in which they did
But it's not only Barcelona playing at that rate. All the teams in La Liga are faced with the same challenge.

With Ansu suspended, Any idea how Barça could line up their usual 3 man attack?

Another good night coming with Madrid definitely beating Granada and I think Getafe could beat Alaves as well, only question is, who gets Villareal versus Sociedad game? I would say Villareal but I can't really be 100% sure on that one, maybe I should do a slip with Madrid winning, Getafe winning and both villareal winning and Sociedad winning, two slips, have to check what is the cost of that and profits.
Madrid and Getafe has the most chance to win while you can't know when Sociedad will shine and have performed their best. They had some good matches before the pandemic and they lost the rthyme now. I guess Villareal vs Sociedad will be an interesting match. Either way, I would be risking on Villareal too.

Sociedad was like 3rd in the league before the break, right? I remember watching them and they played great, winning against Real Madrid in the Cup, drawing with Barcelona and Atletico. But I've also watched a couple of their recent matches. Man, they just look like a completely different team. It's not the offensive team we used to know, always in the attack creating tons of chances every match. Most of the times after the first half, players look exhausted and they slow down the pace. I really hope Sociedad is going to come back in form at the end of this season otherwise this is going to be a pretry terrible season for them even though at a certain point they were doing great, sitting on a UCL spot.

Dang awesome night last night with all the games. Well I played on other leagues as well and on la liga I had one slip. Barcelona and Atletico, so it wasn't a huge one but I am glad that I managed to get it this week. It has been quite tough to bet on Barcelona lately with all the point losses, but at least they managed to beat valladolid (Messi can't stop beating Ronaldos Cheesy) and that is actually brought in around 2x profit. I wish I played more, played only 10€ on that slip so it wasn't really much of a profit.

An interesting question today in Marca: ''Ansu Fati trains with Barcelona B: Will he play in the Segunda B playoffs?''
Ansu Fati is currently training with Barcelona B, as he is suspended and currently unable to play for the first team Barcelona.
Ansu Fati was with the first team of Barcelona the whole season and had a notable role (22 appearances, 6 goals, 1 assists) and now the coach is sending him to the second team.
Does Barcelona B really need his help or is it proof that Quique Setien has lost hope of defending the Spanish title and is sending his younger players elsewhere?

It's going to be extremely interesting to see what happens to Barcelona after Messi retires. Because right now Messi is carrying the team almost every match, either by scoring goals or offering assists. He has 22 goals and 20 assists this season. Real Madrid did great after Ronaldo left but I'm not sure what's going to happen with Barcelona. Suarez is also 33 years old, so he will also be gone with Messi. Barcelona spent a ton of money on Coutinho, Griezmann and Dembele more than €120M on each of them. Dembele was injured almost all season, Coutinho was loaned to Bayern München(came back 1 week ago) and Griezmann didn't look great. We'll have to wait until we can see all of them in the squad. There is definitely a ton of talent to this squad but the coach has to find a formula that could work somehow because talent is not enough.
I don't agree that Real did great after Ronaldo left. You probably forget how they were struggling previous season. They ended 3rd in league with just 68 points collected and loosing against bottom table teams was nothing unusual then. They also were eliminated from Champions league by Ajax early and ended season without trophies. So, it took some time for them to learn to play without Ronaldo.
But yeah, it's interesting what will happen to Barca after Messi will retire. It's obvious that Barca isn't ready for it yet...

Barcelona must take the risk, if messi has left Barcelona. I also think that barcelona officials are already thinking about that, like looking for great young players. so that Barcelona can be scared.
And for Real Madrid, it seems I also do not agree that Real Madrid played well after Ronaldo left. Because Real Madrid's performance isn't as good as Ronaldo still there.

Sigh, it was a good win after all. One Messi assist, one Arturo Vidal goal, and generally they didn't play so badly the entire match. I have to say, if we weren't at this stage of the competition, I'd be happy to see the performance but Real are still only 2 wins away. Let's see what happens!
The match marks the second player in history of La Liga who has 20+ goals and 20+ assists within a season. The first player had it in history is Thiery Henry when he was a teammate of Messi years ago. In the age of 33, La Pulga still proves his value as one of greatest football players in history. I don't think Messi and Barca will have opportunity to hunt for the title. It is nearly a bad ending for Messi if we look at the good start of the team and have some leading points ahead Real before the league resume.

There is 4 point difference and only 3 games left, that means 9 points available and Madrid has to lose 4 out of 9 points. That is like 2 draws in 4 games or 1 loss and 1 draw in 3 games. Looking at their game they will play Granada, Villareal and Leganes for those last three games. Villareal is 5th and only game that looks like there could be a point loss there (which I still doubt) Granada is 9th and Leganes is 19th! in the league.
Villarreal clash with Real Madrid is the hardest game here, and I'm pretty sure that Real would drop not point as they are in the point of no return to second spot. Real will surely get 6 points from Granada and Leganes and either a draw with Villarreal making it a total of 7 points.

It looks like Real should win La liga without much problems since they have quite easy schedule but they will probably be out of CL after the first game is played. City looks much more dangerous and I don't see real turning 2:1 away without their captain who is playing best football of his career.

it will be hard for Real to turn first match score into kick-out, they will need much better match than this what they are showing in La liga, but we have almost a month, and there is plenty of time for them to sort things out, as well as for City to go down with their form, think that City reached their pick in no-time, since they have no ambitions in Premier league, where they are playing the best this season, and it is too early for CL finals

IMO, it is really hard and unexpected for a team to be in the best form for more then two months, that could kick hard on City when CL finals time comes, and Real could reach their pick at the time, will be interesting, nevertheless

I agree Barcelona have some serious trouble going on with their squad and board but Real Madrid's recent run of wins is over-hyped in my opinion. If you look closely then they are winning matches with penalty and only 1 goal difference. Especially the game against Real Sociedad was 100% robbery.

Real Valladolid 0 - 1 Barcelona

it was just close that Barcelona did not lose the game  Grin

People criticize that Barcelona played bad against Espanyol couple of days ago but what about Real Madrid against Espanyol in Matchday 32? Real Madrid hardly able to win the game from the goal of Casemiro else otherwise Espanyol completely dominated the game. But against Barcelona, Espanyol was on back-foot and defended with 8 men in entire game.

Barcelona Is the team that depends only on Leonel Messi and as a fan of Real Madrid I accept that Real Madrid is winning the games in a strange way, but they are winning and that is what that matters
Both Real and Barca are not playing well at the moment but they are getting the points which is the only thing that matters, especially for Real. I f they continue with these presentations I am expecting a disappointing champions league season for both.

It looks like Real should win La liga without much problems since they have quite easy schedule but they will probably be out of CL after the first game is played. City looks much more dangerous and I don't see real turning 2:1 away without their captain who is playing best football of his career.

It is more important for Barca to perform well in CL after loosing La Liga so they will hopefully use the rest of the games in the league to improve their form and sort out the mess in their locker room.
