Champion Real Madrid played Villarreal last week in a spectacular goal duel that ended in a draw. The Real Betis game will also be a farewell to Kroos, who has announced his retirement from football. Real Madrid's sole focus is on the Champions League final and I expect Ancelotti to experiment with tactics against Real Betis and therefore not give too many chances to the substitutes.
In fact, Real Madrid have gotten very good results from the alternatives in recent matches. Ancelotti will make different rotations in this match. Real Betis got tired after losing to Sociedad last week. They have a clear line up and a large number of players with uncertain status, especially in the defense and midfield. I don't think they will show much resistance at the Bernabeu. Real Madrid are definitely the favorites.

Girona played brilliantly in this match. they get a big opportunity and make use of it.  In the 2nd half they completely controlled the ball.  And scored 5 consecutive goals. And scored a total of 7 goals.  It was a really amazing game that Girona scored 7 goals but their opponents didn't score even 1 goal. Girona is far behind Real Madrid in terms of points but is almost overtaking Barcelona. There is only 1 point gap between them now. Girona seem to be doing very well again

Girona has completed all matches this season in La Liga. Barcelona still has one game against Sevilla. This is not only a 1 point gap remaining between Barcelona, but this is indeed the maximum points that Girona has obtained this season. There will be no additional points added. If Barca lose then they will be one point behind. But if Barca wins then they will be 4 points behind. The league is over. There will be no more position changes in the top 7 due to their point difference. 4 teams for the Champions League, 2 teams for the European League and 1 team for the European Confederation League have been determined today.

The remaining matches are just matches without any pressure. And it will be interesting to see how Madrid will play against Real Betis tonight. On paper, Madrid is predicted to win, but of course Madrid will not play seriously because they will focus on the Champions League.

Well, Artem Dovbyk is leading the top scorer with 1 difference goal. Alexander Sørloth still has a chance to have more goals in the final match against Osasuna. In my opinion, it won't be an easy match for Alexander Sørloth, he won't easy score goals in Osasuna home. Osasuna also has a motivation to win the match, they want to finish the season in the top 10. So, I'm not really sure if Alexander Sørloth can take the advantage from this match to score more goals.

Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/spanish-la-liga/top-scorers

Dovbyk is truly impressive and apart from recording a hat trick in the last match of the season, he also has the opportunity to win the La Liga golden boot this season. I think the competition for top scorer no longer belongs to players from Real Madrid or Barcelona who we know can always dominate this league, but now it's time for other mediocre teams to show off with strikers who are rarely known.

I think it could be Dovbyk who wins the golden boot but keep in mind that Sorloth alone was able to break into Real Madrid's goal 4 times in one match last week. So Osasuna is not necessarily safe from Sorloth's skill in scoring goals and if they target finishing in the top 10 then Osasuna must fully learn from Real Madrid's previous mistakes.

Girona is smashing Granada by 7 goals to Nil. This year's race for the Pichichi has been so interesting. With a hattrick tonight, Artem Dovbyk leapfrogs Alexander Sørloth who scored four goals against Real Madrid last week. So as things stand

Artem Dovbyk - 24
Alexander Sørloth - 23

Alexander Sørloth's Villarreal is playing against Osasuna tomorrow.

It was a sign that Girona players are waking up from poor performance in their remaining matches, because they where able to play yesterday match to took good possession from the match till the end of the match to scored seven goals to defeated Granada 7-0 to achieved three points. Despite the kind of players Granada manager used to play the match just to reduce Girona points but they failed to make such plan happen, because Girona started scoring goals 30 minutes, 33 minutes and the third goal came at 44 minutes to ended the first half with 3-0. Anything that will make Barcelona to lose their next match, it will make them to drop down to third position because they are using one point to lead Girona in the la Liga league table.

I think the main reason was the bad relationship between Laporta and Xavi otherwise he could stay for the next season.
Even Flick was not successful recently and they could have much better coaches instead of him

Xavi was expected to be kicked from Barcelona at any moment especially that few weeks ago he was declared out then resumed... Their might be some misunderstanding and tensions between him and the staff but that was mainly due to the poor results they had and for not winning anything this season.

The way Barcelona president dealt with the Xavi Hernandez issues has got to be very poor truthfully, how do you treat a club legend this way? Meanwhile he didn't even get the necessary backing needed for a successful season.
They gave him treatments they should have given Koeman the one time club player and also coach. Xavi Hernandez did better than him and should have had a better treatments.
It is what it is right now I must say.

I love Hansi Flick, I know he will do a good job in replacement of Xavi Hernandez and should already be aware that the management and club has no much money to fund whoever he wants, he will have to work with the young players from La Ma Sia who are heavily talented.

That's freaking bullocks and an extreme shit for Barcelona board, It's really an awful way to treat a club legend, frankly!

Xavi had initially voluntarily decided to step down at the of the season, and he was implored by the board to stay, which he later agreed due to his love for the club, both as player and now as a coach, if anybody had been able to repair the relationship between the club and its fans, it definitely was Xavi, and he sure was the fan favorite. The board has successful setback the club backwards by a couple of years with this move, except they expect Flick to come and perform a miracle on limited resources and budget.

Who freaking pleads with a coach to stay on, only to have it thrown back at his face a few months later, BS!

Girona did exactly what I expected from them which is mercilessly beating Granada using their home advantage and their goal scoring prowess. Despite that this win does not mean anything for them since they are already bound to remain in third position, the match gave them the opportunity to score as many goals as they possibly can. A match ending 7:0 with all their major scorers, including Artem Dovbyk scoring hat trick and Eric Garcia registering a goal should indeed be celebrated as a good match. On the part of Granada, the loss does not really matter much to them as they have already been relegated alongside Cadiz and UD Almeria... so "he that is down need fear no fall".

I am looking forward to Real Madrid against Real Betis, a match I expect the former to win to seal the season in victory. There should be no excuse as to why Madrid will fail to deliver, not even the Champions League final will deter them from collecting the 3 points.
I was surprised when Girona defeated Granada 7-0 yesterday. Even though Girona have already qualified for the UEFA Champions League competition next season, it means that Girona can still be a threat for clubs in La Liga this season, except for Real Madrid. In this match, Artem Dovbyk scored a hat trick against Granada to have an upper hand in winning the top scorer of La Liga this season. With the performance of Artem Dovbyk for the Girona this season, I am afraid if Girona can be able to keep him at the club because big clubs in Europe will want to secure his service, and Girona will want to cash in on him since he is now valuable. Don't be surprised if Real Madrid fails to beat Real Betis in their match because Ancelotti might likely rest his important players for the UEFA Champions League finals with Borussia Dortmund so that they will be fit enough to display an amazing performance against Dortmund and win the UEFA Champions League trophy.

Girona's campaign of this season is undoubtedly a successful one. Finishing third in La Liga is always an achievement for a club of Girona's calibre. It would be better if they could win the league breaking the dominance of Real Madrid and Barcelona, but experience and squad quality of Girona didn't backup this aspiration. This summer will be a nightmare for Girona in effort to keep their important players staying at the club, because big clubs will persuade them to move, while they have Champions League competition next season.

The win over Granada with seven goals shows how good Girona is when they play with pressure. The hattrick by Dovbyk signify the record breaking of the biggest win in La Liga for the history of the club. This win is such a fresh air for the players after fight an intense campaign of La Liga. It's a morale boost for the players who will participate in Euro 2024.

Yeah Girona are playing impressively this season obviously no one thought they would be in the top 3 last season when Girona was promoted to La liga they only finished in the top 10 but this season they have improved drastically with an impressive record as well. Girona scored 85 goals or is only a few goals behind Real Madrid and Girona put Artem Dovbyk on the list of top scorers for a while, Alexander Sørloth a player from Villarreal has the opportunity to catch up which is only one goal away and he has one match to play.

By the way, La Liga still has one more match left but that has no impact on each team's position so basically La Liga has ended in week 37 and week 38 is just a formality because there is no change in the top 7 and 3 teams are relegated, the only competition that occurred in the last match was in the top scorers list.

You're right about Girona channeling their energy into useful things other than making a complete mess of 10 man Granada. The truth is, as no one expected them to get to the second position in the table, there then became no drive to be serious since to them all eyes are already on Real Madrid but the funny thing in football is that it's towards the end of the season we see records breaking and today's 7-0 mauling of Granada is the highest Girona have been able to achieve in their club history and this win has enabled them sit third in the table, making them eligible for champions league next season. Maybe this is their main target instead of usurping the title from Real Madrid.

Only if they had channel all the energy we saw in that encounter against the relegated Granada to some important games I believe they would've been in a better spot like the number 1 position instead of Real Madrid. They're a better side that nobody thought they would even qualify to the champions league next season but fighting and backing down isn't how they're suppose to challenge for the title, was expecting them to finish the job at least win the league title from Real Madrid, after all they had less competition compared to Madrid and Barcelona. A good way to end the season but it wasn't enough for me.

I was surprised by this news, because previously it was that Xavi and Barcelona would still work together next season and now I read the news that Barcelona has reached an agreement with their new coach, and that means Xavi's position will be replaced. Yes, I also think this is a hall that is not fair enough for Xavi, because he can still provide something good for Barcelona amidst the problems that Barcelona is experiencing and even he didn't get full support from management when the transfer market came.

But I hope this decision is not the wrong decision, hopefully their new coach will indeed bring good changes to Barcelona and better than what Xavi can give them. However, if it turns out that their decision was wrong, then I hope that no one will be scapegoated by Barcelona, because this is a decision in the middle of a choice that I don't think is too difficult for them to choose.
After Xavi remarks that angered Laporta after the match against Rayo Volcano, Laporta immediately took a stand want  to sack Xavi despite Barcelona previous pleas asking Xavi to stay after Xavi decided to step down from his post at the end of this season, now it is reported that Barcelona have decided to sack Xavi because him considered to tarnish the value of the value that exists at the club, so it is quite surprising if just these words are now Laporta Intend to sack Xavi even though Barcelona financial condition is in a difficult state.

Reportedly at this time Barcelona have sent deco to talk to Hansi Flick, so I think indeed we are just waiting for time to see the official announcement about Xavi's dismissal and also the appointment of Hansi Flick officially announced by Barcelona, to be honest, if Barcelona sack Xavi, of course it will be a big mistake from Laporta, because in my opinion for now Xavi is able to lift Barcelona performance even in difficult financial conditions and no matter how great Barcelona new coach will of course find it difficult to do what Xavi is currently doing at Barcelona.

Until I saw this news confirmed officially I couldn't believe this was coming up for Barcelona and they really hired Hansi Flick for the next season. Because I think Xavi was trying to do his best for the team even after all the financial issues they had in Barcelona but he got good results during this season regardless of losing the La Liga title.
I think the main reason was the bad relationship between Laporta and Xavi otherwise he could stay for the next season.

Girona has no chance to finish in 2nd place of La Liga table, they only can support Dovbyk to be the top scorer. You can see Dovbyk executed all the penalties in this match, it is the way to give him more goals. However, it is interesting to see Girona playing very offensive in this match. They really dominated the ball position to have more opportunities in scoring goals.

Well, Artem Dovbyk is leading the top scorer with 1 difference goal. Alexander Sørloth still has a chance to have more goals in the final match against Osasuna. Girona is the main sensation of this season in European football... To be honest, they surprised me even more than Bayer, who haven't lost a single match... Girona managed to be in first place for the first half of the season and managed to stay in the UCL zone... It will be interesting to see how they play next season...
Girona have closed the season with many goals, i really live the way they maintain their standards to get to this level, they are the second highest goals scorer after Real Madrid, now for us to see the real strength let wait for them in the next season champions league.
Hopefully there will be no drastic decline in terms of performance for Girona because it would be a shame if their outstanding performance this season only lasted 1 season.
The problem is how they keep their current players. with Girona's current condition, it is certain that there will be several players who will begin to be ogled by other clubs, especially for big clubs.

Next season Savio is already in the uniform of Manchester City and it is possible that there will also be several offers for several other players such as Dovbyk, whose performance has been extraordinary this season.

They must now pay attention to that and try as much as possible to add players so that they are not left behind in terms of performance next season. I just don't want to get my hopes up for this because after all Girona next season still have to prove that they deserve to be in the Champions League and that can only happen if they can maintain the consistency of this season next season.

Finally, the riddle of the manager at Barcelona was solved and they parted ways with Xavi. He's replaced by Hansi Flick. Flick, who had previously done well at Bayern München, was disappointing with the German national team. Managing a club team is very different from managing a national team. Flick will have a good squad at his disposal but his opponents are also very strong. The Barca management should open their hands a bit in terms of transfers so that Flick can succeed at Barca by building a more competitive squad. It's not easy to compete for the title with Real Madrid. We will see if Flick is up to the challenge.
What is this? Crazy drama by Barcelona and Xavi after Xavi decided to leave and tried to be detained by Laporta who made Xavi melt and said that he would stay but at the end of the season he was fired?

So all this drama where when Xavi wanted to leave and was held back it was just a way to increase the exposure of Barcelona? I really can't understand what they're doing this season because they're so busy playing drama rather than trying to improve their situation.

In addition, this is also a ridiculous action because by sacking Xavi, they are indirectly required to pay compensation to Xavi and the nominal is still very large if you look at Barcelona's current condition.
I don't understand what path Barcelona will take because those who are now overwhelmed by financial problems actually create a condition that worsens their own finances.

A wonderful performance from the home side Girona in the game against Granada, at the same time I'm very disappointed at the home team for putting on a good show against a team that's not worth it in any way.
Ain’t nothing there to be disappointed about mate, they’ve got no reason to be any more competitive or reserve there performance but, to end the season in a way that would be memorable to the home supporters and mark the season’s performance. Many thing was archived by Girona this season and the most of all was there UCL qualification. They didn’t think they would get to that level, in fact the aim for them was Europa and shortly after they bagged that, they went over to qualify for UCL.
Hence, having to deliver such a final performance for its home side is a necessity.
Granada didn’t do much to resist them and the worst still was having to conceive a penalty and got a red card. 3 goals in first half and another 4 goals in the second, that’s indeed spectacular.

Only if they had channel all the energy we saw in that encounter against the relegated Granada to some important games I believe they would've been in a better spot like the number 1 position instead of Real Madrid. The first match in the final week of La Liga this season opened with a surprising result, there was no reason for Girona to lose, they were playing at home and playing against a team that was certain to be relegated. Closing the season in third place, they should be playing in the UCL next season, but from several articles I read that they can't play in the UCL because they're under the same company as Manchester City.

Are the reports true that Girona will not play in the UCL next season? does anyone have any information regarding this?

An easy win could pretty much have been anticipated, but to put up 7 goals against Granada isn't what I think anyone one saw coming, and they easily could have ended the match with a double goal difference, because they were in total control of the game and dictated the tempo of the game for the entire 90 minutes.. I think the referee was to soft on a number of calls, especially with the second yellow card offense that led to Pellestri being handed his matching orders, the play really should have been overlooked given the score line and how marginal the pull was, maybe it should have been a free kick no doubt, but issuing a second yellow card for that was way too soft, I believe.

The comfortable riot win for Girona is a testament to how successful one can conclude their campaign for this season was... and they'll be playing champions league football next season, for team that got promoted to La Liga 2 seasons ago, and then finished 10th in the league last season, that is a really significant progress, to say the very least!

Hansi Flick is one of the top managers to handle Bayern Munich and led them to glory during his regime as coach. Perhaps he's currently in Camp Nou as the newly appointed headcoach, replacing Xavi Hernandez and this have become one of the bothering factors for Barcelona president, Joan Laporta. He's keen on making Barcelona a better club that would be able to match the exact strength against Real Madrid for the La Liga title next season. We know how competent Hansi Flick have grown to become and we know him to be one with pressing pattern.
