There are several players whose performance may decline due to age and I think those who are old enough can be sold and bought new players, at least young players who have more ability and have the potential to be able to play in the main squad at Barcelona, after all the competition is very tight in Next season, if we continue to play experienced players, it won't be enough because stamina and performance are necessary, especially since league matches are also quite time-consuming, having young players will be good enough to maintain consistency.
But I don't know whether Barcelona has enough money to buy new players and sell their players, even though we know they are in a financial crisis, I am not a Barcelona supporter but what I see is that Barcelona should have lots of young players to fill the main squad so they can compete in the season. in the future and Xavi can rotate each of his players so that he can continue to maintain consistency next season, at least winning the Laliga title is already a good achievement, let alone the UCL which is certainly not an easy competition to overcome.
It is true, selling players who are old and no longer have an important role could be Barcelona's choice in the upcoming transfer market. But the problem is, Barcelona currently doesn't have many old players, maybe only Lewandowski, Ter Stegen, Oreul Romeu and Gundogan are old enough. Apart from all that, these four players have a very important role in Barcelona, in essence these four players can be said to be the pillars of Barcelona at the moment. So if, for example, Barcelona sells these players, then Barcelona buys young players, I believe it is very likely that Barcelona's performance will decline much further next season. Because young players definitely need a long adaptation period to be able to unleash their abilities.
Apart from that, what I know is that currently Barcelona has more young players and I think these young players are quite talented. Examples Lamine Yamal, Gavi, Roque, and Joao Felix. All of these players are future assets that Barcelona has, that's why I say Barcelona doesn't need to buy any more players next season. The reason is that currently Barcelona already has quite talented players. So that way, Barcelona can save a little in spending money.
With Barcelona's performance this season, you can see that they need to make changes in the team because their performance has been bad, prompting them to fire Xavi and hire a new coach. The old players you mentioned, such as Lewandowski and Gundogan, are not in their best form anymore. The worst part is that Lewandowski is already a weak striker who can't do what he used to do. They need to get a young player to replace him. Even if they didn't sell him, he should stay, but he won't be playing 90 minutes again. They should change with the new striker they buy if they bought new young players because I am very sure they need to be a change. Since they have hired a new coach, he can state that he is unable to play with some of the players on the squad and would like to add some players. If a young player is good and gifted, he does not need to spend time proving himself, before catching up with the rest of the team.
I don't think the main problem is Lewandowski and because of their financial issues I think they will still stick with the strikers they have which may not be really consistent but they can be become one if they work hard, I guess Ferran Torres should be getting more of these critics than Lewandowski since he should be learning more from him while the other is becoming older and limited by age. Though I think Lewandowski will be among their strong plan next season since the new coach Hansi Flink has worked with him before.
When Gular arrived at Real Madrid as a young player, he did't wasted little time in scoring goals for the club, and all of the fans and players began to adore him, proving that if you are good, you are already good, it is not necessary to invest time before you can begin performing in the team. If a club keeps old players in a team, it will be a very difficult season for them; they must keep young players who can play the full 90 minutes; Barcelona is a large club, and they must make a change or they will continue to do poorly in the league. And champions next season will be very touch, he won't be like this season, they have made many changes in the competition and barcelona need to be tight and do well and if they is not new players am very sure nothing they will do next season.
Xavi did a great job for this we have seen the number of stars that has come out from the Barcelona academy which has really helped them survived till now. Barcelona will continue to respect Xavi as a coach for what he did for them at their low moments and if not for injuries crisis mostly affecting their midfielders Barcelona would have done much better and this is the part I would love them to spend money on though I still have to accept that Xavi had is own issues as a coach which made him have bad relationships with some of the players.
