Might want to save BTC for a possible rainy day...

Yeah, not a bad idea 'cause "it's a hard rain's a-gonna fall".

It has been raining for along time now! Hope LR would give some nice weather forecast.

Any stance you care to share on Bitmain? I went in for one of the new S3 miners. Seems like a nice option for individuals but perhaps not ideal for the big boys.

I met the guys from Bitmain, and know people who are happy with their S1 and S2's, but we don't have any.  Another company I think may be a great option is Spondoolies.  Spondoolies will have pretty good power cons., but the ship date isn't now like the S3's... These are all things to take into consideration and need to be weighed by whomever is doing the purchasing.
Thanks for the updates!  Its nice seeing you on here every week giving updates on whats going on even if there isn't much.
I've bugged the guys from Bitmain about making cards for their S2s based on the new 28nm chip.  I haven't heard anything back but in my opinion that is the way to go with their products (if they do that).  I have had problems twice now where I've had to physically remove power from an S2, let it sit, then power it back up and the cards showed up and mined properly.  But I have no other complaints.  Spondoolies look nice but I haven't done that much research into them.  I'm not interested in an SP10 and their SP30s are on preorder.  The SP30 is however the best THs/$$ value IF it was shipping today, it beats out the AntMiner S3 by a little bit and does not require external power supplies.

I still haven't heard anything from BFL either.
Just got a response from Bitmain about upgrading the S2s  : )
"upgrade plan will be released soon, pay attention to our official announcement for update later:)"
In response to my question - "Will BITMAIN be selling cards based on the new 28nm BM1382 chips that will fit in the S2 AntMiner?"

That's cool.  It'll cut down costs for bitmain as well as for previous customers.

That relies on the fact that coinprism doesn't go down for money trans issues like any other exchange as they're managing the payout system...  Would just put us back in the boat were in now with direct payment of contracts, which with the automation I have up right now is just as easy as clicking a button anyway.

Well, it's true in some degree that it's them who manages the dividend payment system. But I actually want to draw your attention at coinprism as trading and trustless ownership management solution. It's OpenAssets protocol which is claimed to be complete and open, meaning that theoretically we are not bound to coinprism.com. Though, currently there is not very much of alternative implementations. You could still pay dividends using your own system if you'll manage to somehow update the list of contract holders based on colored coins holders. Coinprism gives you such a list, by the way.

That said, I've played today with coinprism, issued some colored coins and transfered them. These two transactions with OP_RETURN are not confirmed for a day already. Moreover, I can't even see them on blockchain.info. Guys definetely have some issues yet and are yet to improve their services and interface. But in theory, such a solution looks promising as the OpenAssets protocol becomes more widespread.

I played with it too, but didn't quite go as far as you.  Give it time and something may become available open source and manageable by individuals and companies to where it's not through a 3rd party.

I am speaking to Spondoolies through a trusted third party on a large deal that would drop the price much further for the SP30's, but I'm not sure exactly where it's going to go for us with that deal.

Really, you haven't heard anything from them either...? SHOCKER... /sarcasm
