It's not greed, just for the sake of testing, and exactly - why it that option even there...
Anyways, be careful - and DO NOT touch the overclocking tab.

good luck everyone!

well is there gonna be a bitmain sale this am at 4am or 5am again in china? (I think that has been the time for them?)

anyone?

Not sure I'll get anything..wondering

No twitter update so far... plus they are saying its all sold out... unless they have some unpaid going back on sale. not sure.

Any idea of the time (the calcs I always seem to get wrong) I think it was 4 am or 5 am for the last 2 sales CDT USA

figured I'd watch...maybe they lowered prices on stuff again (doubtful) Smiley

You are right its very confusing they say China 5 PM that is 4 AM CST but on their twitter they also say GMT + 8 which is 3 AM CST our time.

to be safe its better to check both... doubtful if they lowered the prices plus they seem to be sold out.. only thing they might be selling is unsold/unpaid inventory for wire transfers that would be today

Edit: I think they are getting messed up with DST (daylight savings time)

Ok.I got a system now that I found the twitter feed

https://twitter.com/BITMAINtech?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor

I then go to google and do 'China Time" Presently it says the time in China at 3:03 pm ..thus as best I can tell that is if they release the units at
5 pm as the tweet said THE LAST BATCH THEY RELEASED INTO THE WORLD....AGAIN YESTERDAY ...er not talking about THIS am ..which looks unlikely in no twitter msg.

anyway 5 pm China Time is in 2 hrs from NOW here..thus if they continue to release this stuff at 5 pm China Time...it will be 4 am Central Daylight Time in the USA

as best I can figure..using google to show present China Time ...add hours to 5 pm their time ..to your local time...that should do it Smiley

correct me if I"m wrong....

again at least I'm on the ball with the twitter feed..now something to watch

I am pretty 'unclear' if I'm gonna get an L3+ say for 2,900 usd with year of elec and shipping etc for ROI....or a D3 miner with difficulty going nuts...even at 1600 usd

but again ...I may get one...just to have a 'stop gate' on any further purchases....ie...the last one you got was dumb...so stop already.....I have to trick

myself often...or I'd buy everything not nailed down ..asic wise....(it's an addiction...) Sad

guys, just a friendly warning, DO NOT try to overclock the device, I seem to have fried mine, it was all good until I upped the freq. to 400+
now I'm seeing a LOT of xxx's and resetting or underclocking wont help. It is wasted. EVGA psu, room temp at around 27 celsius....

Pls be careful with your devices.

Greed is not always good....   Don't understand why anyone would overclock something the manufacturer clearly stated not to do

Agreed. Never understood why folks do this. I know, obviously greed. But I also wonder why the manufacturer has this option built-in? Planned obsolescence?

No the reason manufacturers include it because users requested it and they always try to mod software and mess up additional things.

I have increase my frequency on L3+ from 387 to 400 Mh/s i keep the area cool and the Temp never exceeds 64 on the chips.

They are hoping you know what you are doing when you OC also don't use an EVGA PSU should have use an L3+ recommended PSU or APW3++

Electrical engineer. Mining since 2014.
HP DPS-1200 server power supply is pretty cost efficient and power efficient, only 80USD with breakout board plus cables, see this thread by sidehack https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/fs-gs-server-psus-boards-kits-stickminers-gpu-riser-power-made-in-usa-940317

Provides enough power for the L3+ both in 110V (max. 900W) and 220/230V systems (max. 1200W).
you suggest this PSU?
Yes, as I have good experience myself owning two of these.
They were little more expensive for me as I live in Finland and I bought it from a reseller inside EU area, www.bitshopper.de
Bitshopper.de is a EU area reseller for Gekkoscience (forum user sidehack) HP DPS-1200 kits.

Hi what model&Brand of PSU is compatible with L3+?

I have the same question, I was thinking of getting a 1600 watt evga gpu to use on my L3+ for 2 weeks while the one I ordered gets here. Some advice would be helpful. Thank you gents.
you need 850w maximum no need to go for 1600w

Would Nicehash be a more profitable option than going for a multipool like prohashing, or simply mining litecoin directly?

Nicehash tends to bounce your miner around a lot more than most alternatives, due to the nature of the service.
Even with that, it is sometimes the most profitable option - but more commonly it's 2'nd or 3'd after factoring in lost hashrate in the frequent bouncyness.

Well I use nice hash a lot. I have a very steady experience with it. I get payed around 60% more than using litecoinpool.org even with the up and down swings every minute.

And after fees I am still ahead. The coins being more profitable are mostly little coins hard to sell in time or super fluctuating in price
