My own view is Bitmain will continue to pump out L3+'s month to month till they again get to Bitmain's warm and fuzzy 12-15 month ROI again. (evil tm bitmain)

Lol? How does a 12-15 month ROI make Bitmain evil (or even greedy)? Any other investment opportunity with those types of quick returns would be killed for. Most people who like cryptocurrencies also like the idea of a free market - in which price is dictated by supply and demand. I would argue that Bitmain has been seriously underpricing their products for years or else there wouldn't be such a vibrant resale market and they wouldn't sell out so fast. Sounds like the opposite of evil to me. Perhaps we are the ones who are being greedy by seeking to enrich ourselves faster. There sure are a lot of rocks getting thrown in this glass house  Tongue

Clueless!
Well from my previous posts...it looks like NO L3+ units will be sold in the wee hours of China at our time of 4 am. (China Time 5pm CDT)

They seem??  to be only selling the Antminer D3 X11 miners then

Unless they drop the price again..it is unlikely I will get any..myself

anyway a heads up ..that I don't think the L3+'s are dumping on THAT day at least.

(the ways of bitmain are mysterious to me)

Seems like no more L3+. Focus on D3
Plus they might be working on 1024MB Scrypt miner.

hmmmm...that makes me 'conflicted'...at 6000mh ....and no further say scrypt-pow miners until next year...(as an example)

I'd be estatic....flat difficulty

on the other hand

with no equip deduction (at 50% rate to tax man) that would also hurt..add say an LTC pump to that ...er ....

Ack!

My own view is Bitmain will continue to pump out L3+'s month to month till they again get to Bitmain's warm and fuzzy 12-15 month ROI again. (evil tm bitmain)

HP DPS-1200 server power supply is pretty cost efficient and power efficient, only 80USD with breakout board plus cables, see this thread by sidehack https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/fs-gs-server-psus-boards-kits-stickminers-gpu-riser-power-made-in-usa-940317

Provides enough power for the L3+ both in 110V (max. 900W) and 220/230V systems (max. 1200W).
you suggest this PSU?
Yes, as I have good experience myself owning two of these.
They were little more expensive for me as I live in Finland and I bought it from a reseller inside EU area, www.bitshopper.de
Bitshopper.de is a EU area reseller for Gekkoscience (forum user sidehack) HP DPS-1200 kits.
Is there another compatible PSU for L3+?

Sure Cheesy They have no reason to that. They can easily sell these both at Hashnest and Bitmain.com. No reason to make more poweerful miner.

It's not greed, just for the sake of testing, and exactly - why it that option even there...
Anyways, be careful - and DO NOT touch the overclocking tab.

good luck everyone!
i use frequency 450 (589MH/s) since day one may batch and never had any issues. I probably could go even higher.
Disclaimer: This does not mean your miner can handle it. You should not overclock when you do not want to risk killing your miner.

There is any problems wben you did overclock, because all are saying overclock kills the miner fast....  and how many MHs will we safe....for overclock....  and what is your room temperature.....?

I am looking for advice on my latest order. I received notification my miner has shipped but UPS shows it is stuck in China due to "Missing or Incomplete Export Documents, they are working to obtain this information"

I have never had this issue before, but it has been awhile since ordering from bitmain.

Any idea what this means or any action I need to take to resolve?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

edit - I live in the US

I had that happen with mine.  I had to call UPS 4 times.

First they said that everything is fine.  Second call they said I had to provide a taxpayer ID number for the import.  Third call they said I had to pay an import brokerage fee of $18 per miner, but that they couldn't take my payment because that department was closed for the day.  Fourth call they took my payment, but when the driver showed up he still insisted on collecting the fee again (check only, no cash, no cards) before handing the packages over.  The whole mess took like 9 days.

Next order I'll use DHL for sure.

FedEx is the best. I received my July 15 batch on July 14 after a 1-day delay due to the import thing.

Last post on the Bitmain Twitter feed for a batch release was several days ago.  Look at the date on the post.  Unless I am missing something that you guys are seeing, I don't see where they have announced any new batches.

So was there a batch or not? Did anyone bought it?

There was a batch a couple days back - keep in mind that China is AHEAD of the US quite a bit, almost a full day so it's August 2 over here when it's August 3 over there for MOST of the day.

"Curses, foiled by the International Date Line again!".

I don't anticipate them having another batch of anything 'till around end of the month or sometime early NEXT month, based on their normal timing between batches.

No way are they going to drop the L3+ price by $1000 - it's currently THE best available miner and very little higher in price than it's only "sold to the public" competiton the Innosilicon A4 - and besides, even with the jump in Litecoin pricing today it's STILL under $2000.

Not at all like the D3, which looks like it's now the THIRD best miner in it's class and therefore has to compete HARD on pricing to keep sales happening.

well is there gonna be a bitmain sale this am at 4am or 5am again in china? (I think that has been the time for them?)

anyone?

Not sure I'll get anything..wondering

No twitter update so far... plus they are saying its all sold out... unless they have some unpaid going back on sale. not sure.

Any idea of the time (the calcs I always seem to get wrong) I think it was 4 am or 5 am for the last 2 sales CDT USA

figured I'd watch...maybe they lowered prices on stuff again (doubtful) Smiley

You are right its very confusing they say China 5 PM that is 4 AM CST but on their twitter they also say GMT + 8 which is 3 AM CST our time.

to be safe its better to check both... doubtful if they lowered the prices plus they seem to be sold out.. only thing they might be selling is unsold/unpaid inventory for wire transfers that would be today

Edit: I think they are getting messed up with DST (daylight savings time)

Ok.I got a system now that I found the twitter feed

https://twitter.com/BITMAINtech?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor

I then go to google and do 'China Time" Presently it says the time in China at 3:03 pm ..thus as best I can tell that is if they release the units at
5 pm as the tweet said THE LAST BATCH THEY RELEASED INTO THE WORLD....AGAIN YESTERDAY ...er not talking about THIS am ..which looks unlikely in no twitter msg.

anyway 5 pm China Time is in 2 hrs from NOW here..thus if they continue to release this stuff at 5 pm China Time...it will be 4 am Central Daylight Time in the USA

as best I can figure..using google to show present China Time ...add hours to 5 pm their time ..to your local time...that should do it Smiley

correct me if I"m wrong....

again at least I'm on the ball with the twitter feed..now something to watch

I am pretty 'unclear' if I'm gonna get an L3+ say for 2,900 usd with year of elec and shipping etc for ROI....or a D3 miner with difficulty going nuts...even at 1600 usd

but again ...I may get one...just to have a 'stop gate' on any further purchases....ie...the last one you got was dumb...so stop already.....I have to trick

myself often...or I'd buy everything not nailed down ..asic wise....(it's an addiction...) Sad

So was there a batch or not? Did anyone buy it?

does NOT SEEM to be a batch today...no twitter info....see above...unless it is a surprise in 1/2 hour Smiley

anyway ...twitter feed above...do a google China time....supposedly they have been dropping batches at 5 pm China time...do the math with your local time

and cross your fingers

Now if they would just drop the price by 1K like the D3 miner...I'd be all over it Smiley

At the current pricing ...er ...not sure I'll even get ONE....alas
