Clueless!
Mass exodus on the network right now...lost over 50 TERAHASHES since the beginning of june. Looks like were going to have a 10-20% lower difficulty which will be enough to bring some people back.

sorry still harping on my previous point...in previous posts...

1) IF 90% of pow-scrypt miners are bitmain L3+'s and difficulty of say LTC is every 3 days or so...I figure folk will come back and at 12c kWh just yo/yo

If I'm under 86c at 76 bucks LTC at 14c KwH ..then that means everyone down to 9c kWh is making 12c a day..fine for the hobby guy...but again

not worth paying the data hall a month in advance even at those rates...the 3-day turn around on diff for LTC and all miners being clones with no advantage

again ..it is yo/yo city without a lot of progress...LTC needs a major pump over 115 LTC and I'm not seeing that any time soon, I'm sorry to say...

2) anyone with a data hall has to pay 1 month in advance...so you'd have to see quite the pump over 115 LTC for me to break even..so why risk it?

If you are waiting for the coin to pump ..just HODL with the miner's off..why gamble paying the data hall folk 1 month in advance or more?

3) Bitmain rumors are getting stronger on a 3x the hash unit at close to L3+ price coming out in July...if that is the case...everyone's L3+ is now a doorstop

likely, no matter your electric price

just saying

we need a big price pump in scrypt pow and LTC or we are just 'rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic for something to do' Sad

Anyone run into the issue where the miner doesn't detect one of the fans? The fan works, and I swapped it out with a different fan from a different miner, and it didn't detect that one either.

who is buying these coupons, this is a real mystery to me, today I received few 350$ coupons
Putting them up for sale in Goods or Digital Goods seems like the appropriate section for coupon sales- I've noticed the higher amount coupons tend to sell somewhat quickly, should still be the case now. Use escrow as usual for sales.

I'm surprised Bitmain's still keeping the L3+ at its current pricing of $450/$530 considering how useful it is for most people right now- unless coin prices rise, this thing's going into D3 territory for profitability. The 504Mh is currently barely breaking even with electrical costs at $0.10/kWh, and another difficulty adjustment should make this unprofitable to run at $0.10/kWh.
yeah, but if u have 0.04 cents like they have in canada, its still profitable, and u can save ltc and sell them when it hits some 150 etc..

Ooh La La, C'est Zoom!
(its fine...always liked being a hobby miner with 2 in the basement better anyway...less angst) Smiley

That's me.  Grin  Only my hobby miners are a pair of 1080Ti GPUs to my right, a (now) money losing S7-LN that has been tweaked by sidehack to my left, a Compac USB stick miner (also a sidehack item) in a powered hub in front of me.

I only host the L3+, but as soon as Giga-Watt gets caught up with their construction, I may see about hosting something else with them to take advantage of the WTT tokens I own and the cheap power.

I hobby mined LTC in late 2011/2012 with CPUs and crappy GPUs and re-discovered my wallet in 2016 when LTC was in the US $4 to US $6 range. Just imagine if I had not sold it all for other cryptos back then. That was just prior to LTC spiking and Bitmain introducing the L3 to the public. The money I got from the "old" LTC I sold is funding my hobby now.

i bought 6 L3 machines at hasnest 2 days ago, maintance vs profit is at 70%, so if u still want to mine u can try hashnest.com, 1 L3 machine is aprox 6.4LTC.

this is the current statistics, its kinda mining more bcs ppl are shutting down, and difficulty goes down, so i am happy

Well I have some L3+'s for sale...at 83c a loss per day...they are going off by July 4th 2018but...so I expect to see a lot of folk dumping units off the network at that time

in my case, even at over 100 buck LTC...I'd still only break even...so again, data halls anyway need to pay 1 month in advance...at an LTC price north of

100 usd ..say 115 usd would I really pay, 1 month in advance 1,290.27 for a 30 buck profit a month? ...not likely, again July lots will dump..if you have really

cheap electric you might make 15 to 30 bucks a month on your HOPEFULLY ROI'd L3+..but for those who have ROI'd and host...we likely will be a walking

People called me dumb for overclock my L3+'s the day I got them sure I burnt a few boards but they ROI months ago.

good for you, I roi'd last year...but looking into overclocking and my situation, 15% gain (and that is streaching it) is not gonna help my losses any...and

again, the aspect of everyone  has the same machine doing pow scrypt and LTC. As far as I know, (prohashing algo) they are all in the same boat, price

vs miner wise....so again, the ONLY advantage in scrypt-pow now (due to price of LTC and scrypt-pow coins) IS electric..so those with good electric rates

will float longer ...for example if I have 6c electric vs my 14c elec with rent and elec at data hall I'd make 67c a day or $20.09 a month after electric...

that is fine....even with overclocking say it makes  the above 15% better , but at day or $20.09 a month per unit....if you have to pay the data hall

1 month in advance $54.65 bucks for a bet of $20.09 ....or 0.7286 LTC a month...the case could be made just to use your $54.65 cost per month in advance

and buy coin ...and keep all the  0.72860054 LTC.you would have mined for that amount in a month ..vs only keeping 0.267842357705398 LTC

no month in advance payment to the data hall...no risk...and 3x the coin in HODL mode

so even at 6c kwh and $75 buck LTC...better to sell the Bitmain L3+ unit...and the ave KwH in the USA is 12c KwH..you indeed could be the last man

standing at 6c KwH...but Bitmain has cheaper electric in its worldwide data halls (2c KwH) and also probably only paid 20% on the $1.00 for equipment

in such..they are gonna suck up me and all others who have to shut down on the difficulty drop..thus it could very well be, over the summer at these prices,

bitmain is the big dog and could gain 51% of the network if it drops enough..simply with their electric PLUS equipment advantages

anyway, the firmware don't cut it...not in my case anyway, I wish folk the best on all this ..but have ROI'd well and above what I should have, had

L3's when Bitmain went from $6 upward...so can't complain...

but for myself..time to conceed the feild to others....my assumption is that Bitmain will benifit the most from all this, weither they expected to or not!

Are you still mining? Do you have a free electricity?

I am, but my lone L3+ is hosted at Giga-Watt(!) where I pay USD 0.033/kWh which includes Giga-Watt's USD 0.005/kWh maintenance fee. It is still profitable for me, but not like it was before.

So, after 1 year of mining with L3+, have to switch it off. Embarrassed
Minus profit with it now. Better to buy LTC than mine it.
Hash rate and difficulty is still on top - strange. Shocked

Break-even for a stock L3+ on electricity alone is currently 10cent USD/kw, most large mines that account for 75%+ of the network operate way under that (.04-.07). So still have a bit to go before the big boys shut down.

Most US residential miners should be shutting down now and just buying LTC with what they would have spent on power bill though( you can already see that happening with the last 3 diff drops).

is hosting gear even safe?
scams can occur right
Scams can occur everywhere.

This said tons of legit hosting places exist. if you do your homework right you should be fine.

The ones in bticointalk marketplace tend to have 12 USD cents hosting iirc.
Thats just too high these days.

What do u think is a fair price to sell an L3+ with psu if I ship from Asia?
