In my place is a supportive place so gambling is allowed and of course this will help gamblers to carry out their actions without feeling burdened. here there is no problem if we follow gambling, the important thing is that we can choose or follow legal and good gambling. Various kinds of gambling are available, each with its own rules, it's just a matter of how we follow the gambling well. Of course I feel lucky with that so if you want to take part in gambling, you don't have to worry anymore whether it's legal or not.

I have heard from friends that they used to try few casinos whenever they stayed in GOA. Goa is a well tourist place where people around the world would visit this place to spend their holiday. I am sure few here might have such experience. Besides this, I have seen people playing in London. But not sure if its legal or illegal in these places. Must be a legalized game there I suppose.

Okay, local websites are fully conquered by gambling companies, on every website you'll see a banner of casino. There are constantly casino advertisements in TVs and you'll see some in streets (at past there were a lot of banners but then the government decided to put limit and prohibit banners near to school, church, etc).
Casinos are making the most profit in this country. The highest percentage of our society gambles, almost every male teen and adult gambles, sportsbooks and slots are very, very popular there.
There are illegal casinos and illegal sportsbooks here because odds there are much much better. Like I am not even joking I recently saw a game with 1.5 odds in our legal one and 1.70 in the illegal one, that is a HUUUGE difference in the long run. I personally feel like the legal one gets all the attention only because people are afraid of getting caught and I wonder how much the illegal ones make from the gamblers.

Our official one made around 1 billion dollars in profit in 2020, it was a little higher than usual because it keeps growing bigger each year anyway and it was also start of the pandemic and people gambled as much as they can yet football wasn't around for too long. I assume that 2021 will be even more because there were football all the time including summer and it is another year so another growth.

I am just kind of curious how legalized gambling is coming along in whatever part of the world you live in?  I'm from Illinois in the United States and we just recently legalized many forms of gambling.  It's progressing pretty quickly too.  I'm hearing a lot of radio ads, seeing ads on TV for different sports books and what not etc.  I see this as great progress.  Free will is something we all deserve and though I know gambling can cause serious addiction etc, that shouldn't be up to our governments to decide whether we should be allowed to do it or not.

So I ask you, how is it coming along where you live?  Is it fully legal, coming close to being legal, or illegal with no change in sight?

It has been legal in my country for many years now, which is probably a good thing because otherwise it just gets driven underground or people take their frustrations out via other outlets. If people are going to gamble then the government might as well take a cut in the form of taxes, which can (if used properly) be used to address any negative side effects and even be used to benefit society in other ways. As long as the rules and governance around gambling companies is strong then it can work well. However the regulators definitely need to always keep an eye on the situation, making sure corruption is stamped out and keeping laws up to date to shut down any loopholes which will be abused if they exist.

In Nigeria I don't think the government has turned her eyes to gambling yet. I think there is just regulation by some body or individual body though recognised in the country but I don't know yet if government has made public statement about gambling like it has made with twitter or cryptocurrency. The gambling outfit in Nigeria is soccer with series of companies running on it like bet9ja, betking , etc. As to legalizing for now I don't know how that has gone, there are warning for under 18 years not to indulge in gambling however.

The controlling bodies for the gambling outfits in Nigeria also remit money to the federal government of Nigeria. The government knows about those gambling sites and can not say it does not. There is regulation for them. Any company that is controlled by a body is regulated. Early this year or so there was a repeated radio broadcast addressing gambling organisations in the country and it was signed by someone in government. So we can see that gambling is legalized and regulated in Nigeria.

What country if you do not mind me asking lets to get off the hook for operating a illegal gambling website? AFAIK you cannot get a permit if it is illegal in that state because the people who give the permits will check where the business is located and where it is offering a service to. Even if the company and the servers of the website are located in another country where gambling is legal it is still illegal to offer gambling services to states that have made it illegal.
It's the Philippines, the illegal gambling industry here is big, one president was even impeached because they're involved in the protection of a big illegal gambling syndicate.

its not illegal in our country we have casinos in every city by pagcor. erap was just the president that time while he was playing and he got lots of enemies like duterte. its was the time when erap wage a total war against the insugents in the country which the phil arm force took over camp abubakar. many politicians got mad at him too and the media doesnt like him. he wasnt oust thru the impeachment case decison but thru the coup.

phil offshore gaming operators (POGO) is allowed in the country.

There are some gambling games that are legal in my country and even the government allows the establishment to put their building like a cockfighting arena even this pandemic a online betting alike is registered. Though gambling outside homes or in a village is illegal. Maybe they have their just llis of illegal and legal. Legalizing it hould be much stricter than before as young generation were too curious nowadays and can cause a big trouble if they got into it. No matter how they not legalized it, people in my countrystill fnd their way to do it for their benefits.

there are still people who hide when playing gambling even though those who play are us and those who lose/profit us too ,why should there be a ban on playing gambling ,somehow I don't know only they know why

In the Philippines it's legal. As long as your gambling business is registered and accredited to operate in PAGCOR[1] and has the needed permit coming from the the LGU's you're good to operate.

Who doesn't want a fair share amount of money from an entity that produces a huge amount of money on a daily basis? None. And this is why our country is eager to permit them to operate. They are often called as income generating entity so to speak. Not only that, even Malls, condo or KTV bars have casinos operating along with them...

Gambling is pretty much legalized in my country although, I did some research and I've read that you're going to need a lot of money to start your very own casino and the license are about 6 digits in the country's currency. So even if it's legalized, not many gambling house as it's expensive, not to mention that Chinese POGO workers are pouring in the country to work for Chinese owned casinos.

Gambling is legal here in our country but the government does not allow advertising of gambling, casinos are operated by the government and they used it to attract more tourist, casinos are located in first-class hotels we also have betting lotteries and we have it in almost all corners of the city many people are hooked to betting lotteries because for $0.45 you can become rich and change your life.
Unfortunately, when it comes to addiction the government does not have an institution to help gambling addiction, the family is the one to take care of it.

Our country is a gambler's paradise, it's legal here that is why many tourists go here not only to feel the hospitality of our country visit our great places but also to gamble in our casinos, we have casinos for tourists and rich and famous, and we have betting lotteries, horse racing and cockfighting for middle income and poor people, the government is benefiting from the taxes brought by these casinos, it sustains some sectors of our society.
It is good to have legal gambling areas for everyone to enjoy. I am happy to go to land casinos once in a while to spend some good time with friends but for the past two years i am not going to those due to obvious reasons. In my country there are several legal casinos and the government is strict of catching illegal gambling spaces.

Gambling in my country is illegal except online gambling, there are no transparent gambling venues or real casinos because in the country where I live the majority is Islam and gambling is haram and prohibited, and if caught will be punished or in jail.
but the prohibition on gambling does not make people feel afraid because there are still many who gamble in secret and it is real because no matter how strict the prohibition on gambling is even though the risk of being punished or detained, gambling will still exist even though playing has to hide.

I live, where gambling is really not essential it is not prohibited and it is not legalized yet either, but people tend to do it online or not, but there are other parts in this country that surely legalized it, that is why some parts have still coped up to the changes, I really think it is fine if gambling is not legalized if it is not prohibited or ban, people will still have access on it, but legalization is a good thing it is just to say that it is not illegal or will be penalized when you saw someone doing this thing, and in my opinion, it will surely depend on the place you live in, if legalizing gambling will surely hit a positive way or in a negative way.

Unfortunately, there are illegal gambling establishments that have resurfaced in the following years ever since our President was elected.

Like what I previously mentioned, PAGCOR is the biggest gambling establishment created by law in the Philippines and it is responsible for bringing large amounts of revenue in the country. But with the resurface of illegal gambling websites/establishments, this puts a toll on the overall revenue of the country which can lead to a shortage of government expenditures as a whole.

I know gambling can cause serious addiction etc, that shouldn't be up to our governments to decide whether we should be allowed to do it or not.

yeah it is our self anyway and if we are on the right age or grown up already , we will know if whats right and what is not right  .
to some governments that do it for them selves , we cant be angry straight to them because they are only concerned and who knows maybe the rate of addicted gamblers on that area are now verry high . its a good news and congrats if your living from those places where gambling is now legal .

You make a valid point, but whether you are of legal age or not, it is still addictive; others have compared it to drugs. I have a strong desire to win at gambling, which is extremely addictive. I remember when i was child which i will be going to carnival just to play those color games it was a simple color game which i also won and that night i always sneak out our house and go to the carnival it was really addicting. Regardless of the government's actions, I believe they are beneficial to all, and we should accept them.

It is illegal in my country but some friends say that if we win, gambling is legal. But if we lose, gambling is illegal because gambling takes all of our money Grin

Even if gambling is illegal, that will not stop people from playing gambling because the temptation to make fast money in gambling will always attract them to come back. That makes illegal gambling available in many places, even if that country prohibits their people from gambling using fiat and will get punishment if they get caught by the police.

In my own country it hasn't been officially legalized but gambling activities is becoming even more lucrative than Any other business any one can think of and the number of gambling outlets keep increasing by the day. We have more physical gambling outlets compared to online gambling such as local pools and lottery games.  The government hasn't made any concrete stand on it's legalization of gambling in my own country but from my observation gambling is legal even though not official in my own part of the world
