Anyway, Let me know if you do follow some superstitions even if it is just for fun. Or which ones you think are extremely ridiculous.
I try to avoid numbers which represent negative meanings and I don't feel comfortable when I win by hitting such numbers. Also, I don't finish my betting session with one of those numbers as the last placed bet, so I continue playing until I get them out of my sight. Moreover, I like to finish betting only when I hit rounded numbers on my balance. Let's say I've profited 9800 satoshis so far. Then, I'm going to hit the 10.000 satoshis mark before quitting, as it gives a sense of mission accomplished, while the first score gives the impression of something incomplete.

It's not advisable, though. Because it's possible to compromise the entire profit of the gambling session just for a tiny profit of 200 satoshis which doesn't worth after all. With that in mind, I feel less tempted to pursue rounded numbers on my final balance.

All those things are superstitious believes which I don't normally buy such ideas. There's this other believe that if you share your game with someone else, it will cause you bad luck and that when you stole someone's and bet on it, it will bring bad luck. Somethings can just happen coincidentally, that's it.

Gambling is gambling and superstition is another thing, it depends on how you treat it and also whether you believe in it or not, for me honestly I don't really care about it but maybe for some people rituals are something important to do before they enter the casino.
I also have a friend who makes online casino games his favorite type of game, usually often before he plays he will flip through all the features in the game he wants to play, such as increasing and decreasing the number of multipliers in about 5 minutes along with several other features which the ritual is believed to bring good luck, although for him it is very important but for me it is quite silly, but yes as I said above that it depends on each person's beliefs and beliefs.

In my opinion, superstition depends on each person's belief, in my country I also have some superstitions, but for me it doesn't affect gambling because luck in gambling doesn't look at things like that, we also don't know our fate whether we are unlucky or lucky in the game, we are not always lucky and we don't always win, if superstition is really real and everyone enters the casino room dressed in red, I don't think everyone will win and be lucky, right? this can be concluded if superstition is just superstition.

It depends on the person, there are people who are afraid to return home if they forgot something, because they will be unlucky, or those who are afraid when a black cat crosses their path. I don’t know which category I would put myself in, maybe I still have some superstitions, this was brought up from childhood by my mother, so it’s not so easy for me to get rid of it. I have a friend who has a black cat, and he absolutely does not believe in anything like that, so I have an example for comparison, superstitions are most likely useless.)

In have this belief that we as individuals believe in things both superstitious things and not. Only when we believe in those things they can have an influence in our life. If you don't acknowledge that those things exist everything we just be a myth to you. People may complain that they have been influenced by these things but you will be exempted.

Let me add a 6th one to the list.

6. The left hand: In most African countries using your left hand to take money can be referred to be bad. Many believe that if you take money to be used for something with your left hand, you might be unfortunate. In gambling, gambling with your left hands, or paying a local a casino to bet for you with your left hand might seem wrong.

#1 Unlucky 13: This is probably the most common superstition there is known to man. It is manifested in movies, books and even in real life. You would notice that a lot of hospitals do not have the 13th floor in their elevators. It goes from 12th to 14th. This fear of 13 originates from the Bible where in Jesus’ last supper, there were only 12 guests until Lucifer came making him the 13th guest and the one to betray Jesus. Another is in norse mythology where a dinner by the gods are held with only 12 of them until Loki, the god of mischief, comes along making him the 13th guest before causing chaos. Maybe gamblers avoid betting on this number.
Trust me, this is my first time hearing about the unlucky 13 and you are right about it. The triskaidekaphobia has been common among people with OCD, and those with strong beliefs on the number 13. Hotels, apartments, or any building with more than 12 floors are generally made to serve the public. They ensure they provide comfort and keep their customer's minds at ease by eliminating the number 13 just as you said its either called 14 or 12B or 14A.

But in this digital era, I doubt there are still superstitions like that believed by gamblers
There are still many people discuss about superstitions in this forum including @OP, this mean they somewhat believe in superstitions, if they don't believe in superstitions, they won't even create a thread and ask other people's opinion.

#4 Color Red: The color red is deemed lucky in many cultures. The color is believed to bring prosperity and wealth. Wearing red when you gamble is said to make you lucky. I also noticed that many casinos’ motif is red. Coincidence?
Red mean brave, gambling is high risk of losing money and not many people dare to gamble because other people think gambling is a sin or has no morality.

as the greatest sports bettor of all time, I can confidently say that superstitions are BOGUS! just do proper research and you'll win, I think I've won 23 of my last 24 bets by doing proper research and following my gut

But in this digital era, I doubt there are still superstitions like that believed by gamblers, it just that in the 5 things you mentioned I still believe in red as bringer of luck and of course this belief has become kind of culture for some regions and certain groups.
Color red is indeed symbol of courage and strength, even the Chinese consider it bringer of prosperity and luck and I in roulette game always choose red over black in betting on color selection for the table in numbers and it true that red brings victory more often.

There are cultures that superstitious beliefs are part of their lives specially in gambling. And just like you said, the Chinese, it's been with them this beliefs ever since and so they are just one culture. And mostly it is also in Asian region that do have this, but there could be part in other world.

But then again, if you are really a gambler then nothing is wrong with believing in this thing. However, it's not the only one, still boils on luck if you play luck base games. And then strategy and knowledge in games like poker. And then you analyze the games when you are in sports betting.

Superstitions will still exist in every where and some gamblers still believe that things. But maybe we never meet those gamblers so we can say that no gamblers will believe superstitions. When we go to some places that still believe about superstitions, that will no surprise because that can related to their culture and their belief. Asian can be an example for that although that already reduced a lot where young generations will not believe something that is not seen. But if we talk about traditional gambling, maybe that thing still exist and be used by some gamblers because they are believe superstitions.

What a scary article you have there, thank goodness I am not reading this on the 13th floor of a hospital elevator, I must have jumped out by now...lol Smiley

As strange as all these are, I started digging into some of these weird things you wrote and they happened to be real in some climes, but not in my country, I've never heard of them. It got worse than hospitals alone, it applies even to hotels in some countries as they skip certain numbers. Chinese for instance, according to Wiki, skips floors 4, 13 and 14 for Triskaidekaphobia (irrational fear) reasons. I don't believe all these things but when I get to a new environment, I like to follow their advice to avoid issues.

But I was interested in the superstition about luck associated with the color red... In general, if you take not gambling, but, for example, trading, then red is associated with a fall in price, and green - with growth. Since most investors are interested in long-term growth, then for them the color of luck is green, and red is a very controversial color. Therefore, it is unclear why luck is associated with red.
Every colour has its application in all walks of life, red is always associated with anything that has strong emotions, and you would bear testimony that in trading, the emotion of loss is stronger an more intense than that of gains, hence red for loss and green for gains. In the end it is more about psychology than factual implementation.

A funny list of superstitions. I can also add that there is a superstition that you can't calculate your profit in advance and you can't announce your plans to become rich. It's funny, but there are some psychological reasons for this. You become a hostage to your plans and it will be difficult for you to change them, even if the circumstances change.
You are right, and in addition to that when you announce your plans, you tend to expose your plans to competition and victimization even before it's brought to life. for example a company exposing their plans to dominate the market in the presence of competitors. Do you think competitors would just fold their hands and watch you render them obsolete? Of course not, they would do everything in their power to either stay three steps ahead of you or bring up something to neutralize your impact and themselves maintain top position while you wiggle in defeat.

Plans are very good to be a private affair, or shared with a trusted few for finetuning, announcing it publicly is a wrong move on the path to success.

For me i believe in superstition that when you can gamble and you spend some of your profits from it you will have a bad luck. Actually it happened to me not just twice but very often. And i get this kind of superstition when one time I'm watching some people playing cards and there's someone asking for a tip because his friends is keep winning and that man who's winning keep spending his money for alcohol drinks and etc , then after that he ended up nothing. . And many people on the audience said that it's bad luck "malas" to spend your money while gambling. But the man answered that at least he consumed some of the profits before it happens. Lol  I dont think it's a good reason.
So that's why untill now i still have that superstition.

Coming from a very superstitious country, I grew up getting familiar with a lot of them and as I grow older I just become even more aware particularly in the context of gambling. Now, I am not recommending everyone to follow superstitions as at the end of the day, that is all they are: superstitions.

We often say that following superstitions would not cost us anything but for some, it may cause them mental distress and anxiety. Anyway, it is still pretty interesting to learn about superstitions and their origins no matter what your purpose is. Either just to laugh at how ridiculous it is or to meticulously follow them when you gamble, I don’t know but I would love to discuss!

#1 Unlucky 13: This is probably the most common superstition there is known to man. It is manifested in movies, books and even in real life. You would notice that a lot of hospitals do not have the 13th floor in their elevators. It goes from 12th to 14th. Another is in norse mythology where a dinner by the gods are held with only 12 of them until Loki, the god of mischief, comes along making him the 13th guest before causing chaos. Maybe gamblers avoid betting on this number.

#2 Whistling: Whistling while playing said to invite bad luck. This belief originates from sailors whistling which they thought to invite stronger winds and storm.

#3 Never count money/chips at the table: This is more of an etiquette and a way to protect yourselves but for some people they believe that doing this exudes pride which will invite bad luck and karma. Keep your money and count it when you get home.

#4 Color Red: The color red is deemed lucky in many cultures. The color is believed to bring prosperity and wealth. Wearing red when you gamble is said to make you lucky. I also noticed that many casinos’ motif is red. Coincidence?

#5: Front Entrance: They say that you shouldn’t pass through the casino through their front entrance as you may encounter a player who has lost and may therefore pass on their bad luck to you. Now, this one is borderline silly because what if a losing player leaves the casino through some other entrance and not the front one?

Anyway, Let me know if you do follow some superstitions even if it is just for fun. Or which ones you think are extremely ridiculous.

To me this is more like having the belief of both negative and positive. Sometimes we allow our imagination drive us into thinking that what we face in life or that happens to us is probably due to the way we go about things. And this you being more of a religious person. Yes it’s never wrong being a religious person, but what you feed your mind with is what you live as. Here’s to you knowing the truth and building your mind around it then stay positive. Then positive thoughts and result is what you get. God is the superior over every other thing you might think of. When you build your mentality around this. That’s you knowing the truth and it sets you free. You don’t have to think that certain things happens due to how was go about it. Tho what you believe is what works for you. That’s just the simple truth. But always embrace the superior over all things who's God almighty and you won’t be limited to this mindset.

You will hardly see any committed gambler that does not have any form of superstitious believe that may be true or mere conjecture. I personally believe some of the things people attributes to superstitious believes are actually true and impact on the gambling in no mean way. I have tested a couple of them and it turned out a real bottleneck to my gambling. Although not all of them hold water and it is not every time that such beliefs works. The one that I usually pay much attention to is dreaming. There are ways I will dream about gambling that it ill come out true.

...

I'm aware of the stigma attached to #13 but its just generated by human speculation

I think the infamous nature of the number 13 has something to be with an actual historical happening in Europe in the XIV century, when a monarch of Europe ordered all Knights Templars to be murdered and the rest get out at the order of French justice, all of it happened in a Friday 13th, since then the tradition of the number to be specially unlucky has continued to this day.
So it is not human speculation, there are actual events which can be tracked to such number and what we have done as human beings is to try to associate all of them, by noticing some have 13 in common.

I don't believe on a native things that such thing can influence gambling or attract luck for you to win gambling I don't concur on those things because I know that such thing might not work effectively as you may think and if it does it will have a negative impact is not that it will give you exactly result of what you want them must be a side effect on it so basically I know that the gambling is a total luck when you have the opportunity it is when it work for you a superstitious belief cannot bring any positive impact for you to win gambling with a fetish belief

We can say, some people still have their own beliefs when it comes to gambling. Even if we say, they are not in any way connected to our games, some people will really find a way how to make a connection out of it. Very few gambling games rely on skills, most are luck-based games. So it is only the people who are making up those beliefs and it is up to them if they will rely on it or not.

Exactly, they've got a kind of mindsets that if they follow such belief luck may back them up and it will give them decent wins, but in reality there's none its a matter on how the results comes out either you win or you lose, though there's no way that anyone can control  that because of any superstitious believe that will control the game, the only thing that you can control is the amount of your willing to stake and lose and the time that you need to quit to avoid further damages to your finances.

A greedy and inpatient gambler will be the one that can be running around to look for things like this where they do not exist, but when we are the natural type of a gambler, we are going to know that things are being done in gambling not by force, but only with the application of wisdom to the games we are playing, this is not also by how fast or smarter we appear, but by the level of our exposure and risk taking in gambling on things we can afford.
