Removing the Newbies from these figures, the rate at which accounts are banned on the forum is staggeringly slow. You really have to screw up hard to get banned, as scammers (usually) aren't banned. The criteria for censorship here is actually pretty stringent once you learn the rules, just as advertised by theymos since way back when.
The forum is being more lenient nowadays. When I was new here, I was scared of plegarism such that after writing my own words I'll still test it in plagiarism detection tools to be very sure. It sounds silly, but that was the height of fear then. I don't think newbies have such consciousness now, as they can easily create accounts and post with bots, when banned they create even more accounts. I hardly see ban appeal threads in meta these days.

I could, but why? Unlike bans, every user can easily check if a topic was deleted.Modlog shows "Remove topic" entries, 150 in the past week. If I'd start now, the list would be far from complete.

Yes, OmegaStarScream's update could cause a huge spike in these totals. But I would make an announcement here to explain why the numbers have increased drastically.

I removed this list 5 days later, because it was "for Mod eyes only".
To be honest, I wasn't late in downloading the full version of the "banned.txt" file. It contains 613406 (!) user IDs. As soon as I saw that satoshi was crossed out in one of my statistical threads, I simply created a new file named "blocked.txt" and wrote down his user ID there. Perhaps it is needed to manually exclude all VIP members and other respectable persons from the full list of banned users and add the rest of the users to the standard version of the "banned.txt" file.

It's a combination of both. I excluded proxybanned accounts from the lists, since that type of ban can be lifted after paying a fee.

You can easily tell if a banned account has been nuked or not by looking at the activity and postcount (both equal to 0) so putting everything into one list might be a good idea.
