Thanks, I've added them to my local list, they'll be included in the next update.
Somehow, my overview of all accounts with tag "Autobanned" on BPIP was incomplete.

I forgot to list these users that are not in the file "banned.txt":

1) Danglen1010
https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?p=Danglen1010

2) inbizin
https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?p=inbizin

3) ChardsElican28

I downloaded your file "banned.txt" a few minutes ago. Thanks again for this big update.
You may like "usernames.txt" too, which I've added later.

I downloaded both files. Smiley

New data
  • I received a list of banned users from suchmoon, starting mid-September.
  • I also found this List of Autobans created by botany, with data from the first 6 months of 2017. I'll add them now.
Update: another 7000+ accounts added to the list.

I downloaded your file "banned.txt" a few minutes ago. Thanks again for this big update.

Previously I used my own list of banned users made manually. It contains about 150 members. Now I've compared my list with your list.

I have not found these four users in your file "banned.txt":

1) ATMcoin
https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?p=ATMcoin

2) hirozaki faraday

3) billsted86
https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?p=billsted86

4) Chainblock

I wonder, are there many such cases?
Yes Sad
Data on banned users came from very recent and thus very incomplete saved versions of modlog.

According to BPIP, he/she is not banned just have a few deleted posts.
Vod also doesn't have data from earlier years.

I couldn't find user Pompa in the lists, although I think that he is banned due to the date of his last comment and the absence of signature.

I wonder, are there many such cases?

Has anyone ever tried to list the signatures campaigns that those banned users where participating? It would be interesting to know which campaigns and which projects these users help promote. And even more important, who are the managers who hire these users ...

Top 10 most banned signatures in the last 4 months:

Semux (36 bans)
Securix (32)
Privcy (31)
Sidera (23)
Eloncity (21)
Buddy (15)
Sonder (13)
Mevu (12)
Kubitx (11)
Swipe (10)

Keep in mind that signatures get removed for permabanned users so this is not entirely accurate - I can only count it if I happened to fetch user info before the ban and it might have changed by the time ban occurred. And of course it doesn't tell you what signature the user was wearing when the offense was committed, which could have been months before the ban. However it's still a reasonable indication of which campaigns hire shitty posters.

Edit - top 10 personal texts (I broke the links intentionally):

dApps Development Automation Platform (23)
https: //eloncity.io/ (22)
One Token to Move Anything Anywhere (19)
https: //www.soar.earth/ (16)
Blockchain Just Entered The Real World (15)
WPP ENERGY - BACKED ASSET GREEN ENERGY TOKEN (14)
The All-in-One Cryptocurrency Exchange (13)
Look ARROUND! (12)
The Future of Security Tokens (12)

As far as I can remember, there was a thread where iasenko (not sure) was trying to list the bounty managers who accept shitposters. Don't know it is maintained now or not.

Edit:
Here it is, not maintained nowadays.

Please keep it updated. Wink
I'm still doing manual testing, but once it's done, I'll make it a daily cronjob. You can check the first line of "banned.html" to see the date it was last updated.

2c. http://loyce.club/bans/banned.txt (2a and 2b combined)

All lists are sorted on userID, oldest accounts are shown first.

Thanks so much for sharing the full list of banned users. Now I don't need to make a modlog parser because my analysis uses your file "banned.txt".

Please keep it updated. Wink

After thinking this over a bit more: does this mean every forum page would require connecting to BPIP.org up to 20 times? If I understand the current extension correctly, it doesn't require anything from BPIP without clicking the link.

I don't know about the BPIP extension but technically it doesn't have to be 20 requests. It should be one request containing a list of user IDs, 20 or less because there can be duplicate users on the page and the ban status can be cached across pages as well.

Is adding "banned" status on banned member requires a lot of coding? If not, can theymos enable it? Or why don't he enable it already?
Not sure if this has been discussed before, I don't visit meta frequently and too lazy to search :/

Just imagine, if all the banned users would have a red "BANNED" text instead of the current rank...
The altcoin section would turn entirely red because of this Smiley I'm sure theymos don't want this, it would be really bad for the forum's reputation to see that banned users are discussing pages long....
It would be much less noticeable to just remove the 'Report to moderator' button for the banned ones and that won't disturb anybody, just help those who report posts... I'm not sure if this will be implemented anytime, but...
Hope springs eternal...

160k trust ratings... well, you're either getting banned for trust spam or you'll force theymos' hand to make some changes Smiley
Don't scare me Cheesy You made me ask theymos:
The BPIP Extension could be modified to replace the current rank with "Banned".  BPIP maintains a real time list of banned users.

The BPIP Extension could be modified to replace the current rank with "Banned".  BPIP maintains a real time list of banned users.
That would be a really cool feature, but I try to use as little extensions as possible.

I think I have users from archive.li and archive.org that BPIP doesn't have yet, but couldn't quickly sort them out. I'll get back to you on that.

I (and others) have suggested to set the Rank to "banned". It's not going to be implemented any time soon:

Maggiordomo has to wait 11 seconds. That's like an eternity for a bot Tongue I'm not sure if whitelisting would lower this.
The minimum (for 500+ Activity) is 4 seconds.

I was whitelisted before and I had 0 seconds waiting time, at least I could't go under 1 second for reporting but I did tried it while searching, double clicked the search button and did't got error message (if I remember correctly) , so I guess this will be a solution.
But there's a catch, if you rank up you are no longer whitelisted.

I think it's time Maggiordomo to be white-listed by the mods so you skip the cool down time between posts.
What is the current restriction for member regarding this?

Several users (including me) have suggested to set the Rank to "banned" (oldest reference). It's not going to be implemented any time soon:
I'm not going to respond here in detail to all of these ideas. It'd be extremely long. I will classify them as OK/maybe/no:
Quote
• A publicly displayed 'banned' rank under a person's username for permabanned accounts (people are wasting both theirs and staffs time reporting already banned users and bots).
No. Or not yet. Or the idea would need to be significantly modified.
(quote shorted to the relevant parts, click the link for many more suggestions)
