Their a reseller of me Smiley

As far as I am aware, they have an order for 11k chips (1000 in batch 1 here and another 10k in their own batch around time of batch 2)
They have pre-order placement for assembly with me, and I speak to them on the phone regularly....

This is not to say they are or are not a scam, Im just passing on the info I have.

A risk terrahash took... i wonder how it works out.

part of me hopes bkk has to redo the whole board for some reason....terrahash seem to have jumped the gun a bit

And i wonder if such a board would work fine anyway... i would like to have the latest revision, not a beta. Im not sure if he did the best decision here.
BkkCoins says in github release notes that "One part is known to be missing here from the original Avalon design. That is the ferrite beads on the AVDD power line to each chip. This was missed by me when viewing the Avalon reference docs and the first version of the PCB does not have them. So we'll see if they are absolutely required, or just precautionary..." so in my opinion a second version is likely. Also with lacking documentation on the communication signals some minor changes might be necessary here as well( my opinion ). It's high risk to buy large batches of PCB boards at this time. We need to give BkkCoins some time to debug the design.

A risk terrahash took... i wonder how it works out. And i dont believe that it gives him much advantage because the chips didnt arrive yet anyway. Im not sure what he thought.
But maybe he only ordered some sample boards.

It looked like terrahash built a full K16. That makes me worry about their competence unless they built one with out the ASIC's to debug first.

I would not pull the trigger until we see a working proto type. The design has not been debugged yet and you would be taking a large risk if for example the PCB needed some changes.

True enough. But there are certain parts on the BOM that have a high probability of *still* being on the BOM after the prototype has been tested. These parts are starting to see shortages at all the online shops, and that's making me a little nervous.

Hey all,

My website, www.stumptownminers.com, is open for orders now. I'm focusing on fast turnaround and doing as much of the work locally as possible, so my prices *are* a little higher than most people's. Right now we're only about halfway to a full K16 batch and we're getting to the point where I need to either pull the trigger or start issuing refunds.

If you're interested in getting your miner assembled in the Pacific Northwest, particularly if you want to pick it up in person here in Portland once it's done, I recommend you head over to the website and place an order ASAP.

Thanks!

Ryan
