Litecoin was regarded as silver to Bitcoin. However, its performance is much worse than Bitcoin.
What's your view on Litecoin's future? Will it catch up or continue to underperform?
As a newbie, this is my opinion on why Litecoin has not achieved the status as the silver to bitcoin. The problem with Litecoin is that the demand is not as great as Etherum because it's much difficult to fund and purchase than Etherum. Since Bitcoin and Etherum are the gold standard in being valued as the standard cyrptocurrency, most exchanges and wallets require the purchase of Bitcoin and Etherum first, in order to trade into the other altcoins and NOT Litecoin. Maybe it is the survival of the fittest and eventually only 1 or two of the altcoins will become the standard and thus leaving the third man out, and in this case Litecoin.
What I do like about Litecoin is that it it appears to be more legit and safe but if and when more major companies adopts Bitcoin or Etherum as the standard crypto coin, then Litecoin may fall to the wait side.
To counter the slow performance, Coinbase needs a faster deposit bank verification to accept deposits faster. It takes too long for deposits from your bank to Coinbase to settle. Therefore, the demand for Litecoin is subdued by the limitations of the deposit process.
I'm thinking about transferring my Litecoin to Etherum very soon to capture the strength of Etherum.
