Hi,

I have noticed a problem with lolMiner 1.3, it's eating all the ram slowly. (all 8gb after about one week)
After there is no more free ram, computer crashes.
Anyone else with same problem?
OS: HiveOS 0.6-204@210608
Ram: 8Gb
MB: Asrock H81 Pro BTC
GPU: 2xRX580,RX570, RX5700 and RX5600XT
Amd Driver : 20.20

Install another 8 GB and reboot every 2 weeks.
Seriously, what are you mining?
My RX 470 4 GB video cards mine Ethereum Classic + Zill, on a farm with 4 GB of RAM and there are no problems. Try using an older Hive OS release.
I have never had any control over the amount of free RAM

Forgot to say that i'm mining Eth and lolMiner is only miner with this problem, working fine on TRM and PM. (But TRM RX570 starts making invalid shares after 24h, so i have to restart every 24h to avoid it Cheesy )
Maybe i keep restarting the miner every week, not a big problem.

Install HiveOS with Kernel 5.4.0-hiveos #108, as I see you have a very old Driver AMD 20.20 the most stable is 20.40 that hasn't go a memory bug lead with the 5700xt.

If you take the last image realase of update inside HiveOS you will avoid that Free Ram that you have :-)

Did you try the new version 1.31?

I'll try but after 2hr of running, its not looking good, Free mem has gone from 6.6 to 6.4.

I just checked eu nicehash and there got no "real" single disconnect ...
But let me explain:

Nicehash on Ergo uses a command
Code:
{"id":0,"method":"client.reconnect","params":[]}
to tell the miner that it shall reconnect. This happens when your hashrate is supposed to switch to an other buyer, because at the moment with Autolykos this is the only way to give a new extra nonce / to switch destination pool. That said there is a difference between trex and lolMiner: lolMiner at the moment is telling you connection got lost and it will reconnect in 1 second - while trex is silently doing it. Maybe lolMiner should be more precise with the message here, because it is not really a "lost" connection but instead a Nicehash requested reconnect that is needed to re-route your hashrate to the current most biding buyer.

So in fact if you see this message on Nicehash: everything is ok! But I will amend the messages printed and will remove the 1 second wait time for this case - I hope that will solve your uncertainty about it Smiley

Ok, i see. I'm sure you know better than me how pools are working, so i will just leave it running. Thanks for your explanation.

i dont think so, just tried one more time and same problem. Trex is working 24/7 and no any problems with disconnects. Tried lolminer with eth on same nicehash server and it is working fine, no disconnects.

There is still some problem with nicehash, cant say about other pools. Connection to server is lost every few minutes. No such problem with T-rex.

Lost connection to stratum server autolykos.eu-north.nicehash.com:3390 or server not reachable.
Trying to connect in 1 second

and i think that "trying to connect in 1 second" should be "trying to reconnect in 1 second"...
That is normally Internet problems... why that happen with one and not the other ... I will test that pool

Hi

I got this error message

Device 5 detected as crashed.

So is this GPU 5 or GPU 4?

It is GPU 6 if you start from 1 or GPU 5 if you start from 0 :-)

As for autolykos2 (ergo) it is good for Polaris and Fiji cards.
Compared with TRM it is slower for Navi cards and it is much slower for Vega cards.
Hope it will be better in next release.

Vega Cards is TRM territory they do it really really well... You should check the Watts in Navi too... in Polaris is between 1w-2W per GPU lower lolMiner... it will be interesting to know in Navi what's the difference. because that gives you extra chance to give more core to get higher Mhs

You should not check reported hashrate... that can be very easy modify it... Then all people will think you have the faster miner. To know the reality you should check average hashrate in pool for a long time. To do that put them all to a pool one one miner ... and watch the real received hashrate for a week. Make a note every day same time. Then re-do same with lolMiner and compare number of received shares. Then you will realise, which miner say real hash and which one inflates his hashrate to have more users...
And you will realise that lolMiner don't inflate his hashrate.

Intensity is obviously lower, on my home PC I can mine with lolminer and browse almost w\o freezes, with nbminer mouse cursor barely moves)) So, no, there is no point.

And also Watts are also quite lower with lolMiner, it is nearly 3W per GPU in Polaris...
