Right now bitcoin is an excellent choice as it is around $8k and within a year it can cross $20k easily.
Still the most popular and with high value,bitcoins and all altcoins.A long term investment must come from the coins that has been existed a long period of time,btc and any altcoins.
Those who can not pass cash have to be long-term investors. I think it's better this way.
Long-term investments in crypto can be a good idea, however it can be very risky, because it is volatile, and is very unpredictable. The best thing to do is to check for the project plan, history of the company, do research, choose the best coin, and do be fooled by wrong info. Don't be a victim, be a victor and a survivor.

Ethereum: They are switching to PoS soonWaves: Smart contracts, atomic swaps and many things coming this year. Also the charts are pretty much similar to ETH track record
I recommend ethereum, ripple and NEO. Those three coins are now a good time to buy and I think that would be good for long-term investments as well.

Well that's true bitcoin is the best choice for long term investment , it have a great potential in the future and will be a huge value. But I advise all of you don't put all your funds in one coin, it's better to spread your investment in many altcoin to make a profits.

I don't completely rely on BTC. I am quite interested in privacy coins since the BTC is lacking this kind of protection. This is my choice for long-term investment.

Bitcoin is the number one pick of most people for long term and I agree with it. Ethereum is the second. Maybe you can choose some altcoins that has a good roadmap, team etc. in short, do your own research. Yeah Bitcoin is the best choice to stock a crypto currency for long time investment. This crypto is very reliable and trusted one. More crypto user choose to hold Bitcoin because this is ideal for long term investments and already tested by many investors and traders. So I suggest to buy more Bitcoin now then hold it for long term. 
Neo is a good thing,but not sure will it make a lot of "X".Market cap already massive.Powr is a good thing.Renewable energy is a quite common subject now.Also have a look at Block Array.Its a Ven and Wtc in one if will be as promised

You were a little late for BTC, because it was better if you got it from 6K. The exact time to get the ETH,LTC for now. As a matter of fact, the price of LTC and ETH should be more higher than up to now.
it is late for ltc too. i tihnk best one is taking ethereum monetha or tezos.
