The answer to this question will depend on what points you already have at the moment. In the long term, it's better to invest in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Neo, EOS.

I holding some of my altcoin because I feel its the best thing to do now that market is bleeding. A wait for the perfect time , the time that the market become green again before I sell.
I would single out 3 cryptocurrencies - it's Ethereum, Litecoin and Ripple. The latter is the cheapest at the moment and it is worth buying more.

if I think Bitcoin and ETH will look great for long-term investments, so holding them back for the next two years is a very good thing to look like it's going to bring a lot of bigger profits to our future. Then, if we hold more long, maybe it will even bring more profits.
No doubt that bitcoin and ethereum invest for the long term will make our money grow fast, but I expect invest ethereum is more a priority, with a lot of devs support. which continues to develop ethereum into these indicators.

Yeah now at this moment good time to buying alts.Most probably Market will be increased september to octber.Buy XRP,EOS,BNB,ETN,Waves,Aion,KMD there are many potential crypto are very low price.So you can take this good chance for future. 
On a longterm the best decision, for my opinion, are top 10 cryptos.

I think the DCR is good for long term investment.Last January the price of the DCR rose to $123.Currently the price in the market is $69.DCR can now be bought because the price is low.It is good to wait till December.

If you plan on long-term investing you better invest into bitcoin alone because I myself also believe that bitcoin will always increase in the next year but if you prefer investing in altcoin you should look at coinmarketcap and choose the best coin in rank 10 and do it analysis first to establish the coin you choose.

I think any of the top 10 projects are safe investments at the moment
for long-term investment only bitcoin or eth, which i think this coin is most secure and prospective. so it will reduce risk we face. bitcoin is parent of the other coin, and eth is parent of altcoin
why ONLY Bitcoin and Ethereum? Many people believe that NEO and DASH have the coolest potential. Think about long-term investments in these altcoins, bro.
Well from the long term pint of view BTC and ETHER are probably the best and safest bets, that will still give you very good risk adjusted returns. As for ALTS it would probably be best to stick to the bigger names, where risk is limited. The days of shitcoin investing is seemingly dead right now.
My best ALT bets are the privacy coins like XMR and Z CASH, perhaps DASH for a master node coin followed by the dexes BNB, ZRX, KYBER.

In a lot of investments it takes a long time for profit, it also applies to crypto investment, and I think it is normal because usually the project takes time to complete all the plans.
