i don't say stop. you follow alt coin and her ico price. all coin increase or decrease you don't buy increase time cause at a time decrease it you need wait for buy.

Is it still gonna pump more or not? Also you panic too quickly. Sometimes the candle will fall hard and then pump really high. You must have patience.

Like quoted above, watch when the market is flat or in a loss area. All coins move and it's never a good idea to buy when they are rising unless it's booming and then it's hard to tell when it'll stop. I always buy top 50 coins when they are in the negative, wait a few days and see if they rise. Sometimes it works, sometimes I sit on the coin for a few more days.

Don't stop yet, you only lose a little amount but make that as your learning experience, identify where part you did wrong and improve it. It's normal to lose and profit in trading, I have plenty of those experience and it never came into my mind to quit for good, I am challenge that's why I am doing well now.That break must be spent for improving trading skills. Some people may go for learning new things among losses but not stopping their trades, that must be not a good idea in my opinion.

It's always better to trade in small amounts till you get the hang of it.
As said before, 40% down is a lot no matter what the amount you start at, but keep your head up. Learn to HODL and keep going at it.
Look into other altcoins other than ETC & BTC unless you are going to keep those for long term investments. It sounds like you're day trading and those are never good to day trade
Take the rest of the month off and clear your head. It'll help.

You are missing the main trait which is required in trading that is PATIENCE. 40% is way to much of losing. If you don't have patience, you are most likely to do panic selling. Trading is not meant for such people. I am not being harsh or anything. But this is a reality. For trading you need to have patience. If you want to trade again, try to be patient or just leave it. I bought a coin at 730 satoshi and all of sudden it fell to 500. I did not panic a bit due to some experience I gained while trading other Coin.
If it is a valuable coin, there is 80% chance it will go back up to normal.

Its a good advice, and I do experience the same. Select which is reliable, at least with millions of capitalization and has many community supporter. Once it is dump, it is fast to recover.
As what @Ucy said, start small in trading just to gain experience before embarking on high value trading. Do not be reedy, as you go by you will gain more knowledge and earn in the future.
It is not time to stop trading it is part of experiencing in terms of trading sometimes we can really feel regret especially when you loose high amount of money but the it is okay it is part of it nothing to worry everyone in trading expreince of losing money but time will come you will earn your money into it just patience and have some studies on trading because it can help you more on how to manage things in trading.
Yeah and its only a small portion of losing because i was able to earn and loss 100% of all my profit and capital and i did only to rest some months then having a analysis and changing my investing moves in altcoins. We need to lose first for us to learn or would you prefer to lose big amount when you earn big amounts so it okay at a start, Learn from every mistakes and keep learning.

Take a rest and come back in trading when the charts will become green (today they started being green) after a long time of red when most of the altcoins were crashing because of the bitcoin price.
But when the bitcoin price now has been dropped the exchange rate has been increased in most of the altcoins seen in big exchanges.
I think to wait a little bit more and then start again because buying high and selling low is very risky and we never know if we bought at high or low price.
If you look at current bitcoin price will require consideration to buy it because maybe bitcoin price is feared to drop suddenly which will certainly be a loss. And it seems a little more patient and waiting for right time and a stable price to make a bitcoin purchase transaction
If we value the crypto in fiat then we see that mostly all coins had/have an increase and those that have invested/are investing then they are having a good profit.
If we compare the value in bitcoin then we can see that it doesn't worth investing at the moment except some coins that are being pumped hard.
When the bitcoin price gets increased the exchange rate of other coins gets lowered most of cases which means that you are not getting profit in bitcoin even though the value in fiat may be the same or greater but less bitcoin.

just an addition never to sell when you still at loss better to move forward and forget about that certain things its always better to calm downand think of the possibility of bouncing back we are inside crypto and no knows what will happen the next day of our trade, keep it cool and stay

I think you are buying too high because you don't want to miss out on the action. This is panic buying. Then the price drops and you realize you may have made a mistake so you panic sell for a loss.
You don't need to quit trading. You just have to discipline yourself to buy on dips or price corrections and try to always sell for profit. Just start over and count those losses as lessons learned.
Because bitcoin prices are believed to be moving toward $10k price levels. If that speculations are right then hurrying yo buy now itself must be a right option.

If anyone ever wondered why prices dump and who is doing what to cause prices to drop, here is the reason, traders like OP and many others can't simply hold to their pants so they sell out of fear of losing even more, I suppose if these kind of traders stop doing what they are doing then no one could pump and dump coins, he bought while prices were pumping but due to being unskilled and not patient he couldn't wait to sell with profit instead of loss.
If all people were pro hodlers, the market would be a boring place that wouldn't allow speculators to go nuts on the market as has been the case with Bitcoin since its existence.I think that's exactly what makes this market so interesting. It's almost a guarantee that when the price increases in a decent manner, that it will be followed with a panic dump reaction.
Those that are capable enough when it comes to knowing when to sell and buy back, always happily look forward to these dumps as it allows them to increase their holdings without much effort.
