You should continue mate, why you would sell at the price that you know you'll be losing that percentage? You should train yourself on how to become more patient. Because in trading, patience is the most important thing especially when you are holding bitcoin. You need to make your heart stronger so that you won't panic sell.

I recommend that for the time being you stop trading, adjust your strategy, read some books about the subject, try to determine at what point you will like to enter in the market, but don’t do it, see if you are making profits in these imaginary trades, and most importantly do some soul searching and see if trading is really an activity for you, since you need to be cold when it comes to make deals that are favorable to you.

If you will stop then how will you recover the loss? The change from BTC0.082 to BTC0.077 only took less period so how come you didn't control your patience. If in such cases that you buy on a certain price then it drops afterwards, don't sell but rather hold as there is a big chance that ETH will comeback again to surpass your buying rate. Then while it dipping, acquired again another round.
Take that mistakes as part of your trading experience and used that thing to fully enhanced your trading skills. There are altcoin that is fit for long term trades and ETH is one of it so control your temper and patience. Out of your frustration, you did a wrong move. Patience is they key as trading is not a piece of candy.

stop what? you weren't actually trading before, you were gambling.

there are certain simple strategies to follow or keep in mind:
1- never buy into the pump:
when price of an altcoin has gone up too much too fast, that should be a red flag for you not to buy it anymore. but if you decided to buy, keep an open eye, keep rule #2 in mind, and sell fast with the rise to make profit and get out quick
2- stop loss is your friend:
you can do this with some automation like using the feature the exchanges offer you or use a bot. or even do it manually. it means have a negative percentage in mind that you sell no matter what. in altcoins it can be -5 to -10% drop and you dump and get out. i usually do it at -1% and my profit targets are usually 5% to 15% that means safe profit and always successful trading.
3- never fall for a hype in altcoins:
know that altcoins are mostly pump and dump and for that people will hype them up with lies. and the bigger the altcoin the bigger and more spread the lies. so just get your profit and get out fast. and only invest in bitcoin for long term.
This is true although im new in trading but im patiently observing paths and statistics. Don't treat trade as gambling always use strategy and always disregard emotions.

No you must continue trading altcoins, if you stop trading altcoins you are really losing 40% of your money but if you stay trading altcoins there are chance to getting back your money and the profit from trading

Buy on the dip. People who bought on the last high doubled their money last week. No end in sight.

You should read a lot and learn more like many have said. But you never know what will happen, it can go in your favour or you can fall hard. I sold 4000 waves 45 days ago, just before the btc pump and waves pump after holding for almost a year. So shit happens. So i could have had 3100% profit but i have to do with 1100%. I put in an amount of money to trade with and not a cent more.

i think you need to control your self in trading because i see you are too rush to sell your coins before you see the price is back to the price before. its normal for us to make mistake but we need to learn from our mistake so in future, our skill will be increase and the important thing from this is we can control our self to not to be panic when the price is suddenly down too deep. i think you can continue for doing trading but you need to have a strong mind to control your self and waiting for the price. i think its still a worth lesson for you from this mistake and i hope you don't have to make the same mistake in future.
This is why you shouldn't trade what you don't know or don't understand. Ripple has been pumping a lot from 3k satoshi until 20++ and it's never been a good idea to buy when there's pump happening. You should research an alt which you like, not jumping to the one which been pumped. You should stop and study about alt first before trying to trade again.

For your case it is better to pause and look for activities that can make you more relaxed, it also happened to me, take a decision in haste and fury was not good, trading is not entirely profitable sometimes we have to accept loss.I will advise you give it a try again, for you currently leaning a lesson of what to do and what not to do in trading crypto currency. I lost about 45% of my money yesterday as a result of inpatient and wrong technical analysis of the candle stick before buying the currency. And that doesn't mean I should stop trading crypto currency. Am currently in the market and is moving in my favor. Trading is the best in making it big in crypto currency only if you follow your strategy and not your emotion.

I think you should stop for now because you are doing the wrong thing. Basic rule of trading is buy low and sell high as simple as that, if you want to get back that 40% of money you lost you need to start reading how to trade correctly. And lastly get yourself a lot of patience since you will need it 100% of time when you trade.
