Because it's cheap, people are still interested in buying it, and some even buy tickets in large quantities. But most of them are not lucky because there are people who only buy a few tickets but instead manage to win the jackpot and they are the ones who are lucky. But people never stop buying because they keep waiting their turn to get lucky so they can win.

They will not stop even when they have won the jackpot. They want an even bigger jackpot, so they keep buying the tickets. Buying lottery tickets is an addiction when they know their luck is very hard to come by.

It doesn`t matter how much money would be stolen - it would be stolen anyway and it doesn`t matter if it would be the income from the lottery of something else. In any case some part of them will be spent to make your country better. Even if the main part would be stolen.
The only thing you have think about is what would be better for you - a cup of coffee or very-very-very small chance to win big prize with small cashback for your country.

There are really just those people who are really that skeptical towards the government in speaking about taxes and whatever correlated to it on which it would really be just that normal on having that kind of

approach knowing that we are living on a wicked world and wicked government then its not surprising that people would already having those kind of doubts on which it is really just that normal on having that assumptions towards it. As for odds or chances then no matter where we do talk or places we are speaking about those lotteries then how many digit would really be the main factor on which it would really be changing up the chances for it to be get hit. The lesser the numbers the higher the chance on hitting and vice versa.

This is why when you do make out some lottery bets then it would really be just that normal that you would really be needing yourself dont expect that much on winning
because we know the odds are really that close to impossible.

If we are talking about lotteries that have a government in organizers - it is another situation as for me. You have the same chances to get prize, but you don`t spend your "coffee" to make someone rich. The government may spend this money not as you want, but anyway at least the part of your coffee will make your country better. In such situation i can spend may coffee in a lottery ticket i think.

I don't believe there is any one who gamble or who buys lottery tickets and doesn't understand the odds or doesn't know what his chances of winnings are. You, for example, before making any bet or buying a lottery ticket, you already know the odds but you still choose to make the bet.

You can win today and lose for about 10 days before you win again. If you do only spend up the money or extra pennies you do have on buying tickets on lotteries then i dont really find any issues into it but on the time that you do spend up tons on day to day basis

Lottery is not encouraging as it were used to be then when people will be tripping to fill up the application for lottery, maybe due to the advanceent in gambling or to the reason that people don't want to risk the possibility of not been accepted for lottery whenever they applied, something like this will not attract the interest of people more not to say using their money for its application, well maybe if there's a free one some may be willing to give an attempt than spending their money applying, they will rather prefer it goes on gambling than lottery.

Actually we cannot say that we are lucky enough when we buy a lottery tickets and win a big amount of money that many people don't have . But in reality it's too hard to hit that jockpot so we can not deny the fact that's some gamblers only buy 1-2 tickets only and then their remaining money they will use it to buy their daily habbits and one of the best example of these are cigarettes and alcohol or wine.

Your last phrase is very funny, and though  you might get a nod for that most especially from those who love smoking cigarette and from those who love drinking coffee as well, the non smoker out there will still tell you that they did put that $1 on something that gives them the chance to win something bigger back, no matter how tiny the chances of them winning is, than than use it to burn their own hearts and lungs through smoking.

Anyways, our decisions in life is all about preferences, our choices, it is said that as our faces are different, so is our desires, at the end, every body have the liberty of choosing where  to put their money or what to do with it, i will still prefer to buy a lottery ticket with my $1 than use it to smoke, and talking about buying a packaged coffee, maybe i will prefer buying a packaged coffee with my $1 than buying lottery ticket with it, for i know the health benefits of coffee.  .
