I'm surprised none of you have a problem with the nut2pools pool having over 51% of the hash for this coin all the time.  Sometimes it is as high as 70%.

It really hurts the validity of this coin to have one pool effectively controlling the blockchain.

I don't know the technicals well enough to understand whether they may be effecting the ability of other pools/ solo miners to get blocks, but I've found that since they've gotten over 50%, I receive a high number of rejects on solved blocks.  Is it possible that the pool preferentially treats their own blocks, and effectively the entire chain, as the correct ones as they would see those before an outside block was submitted?

On a 30 second block, even a few seconds preference toward their own pool before others outside the pool could be validated could be enough to completely skew everything in their favor.

I haven't seen one person raise a concern about this on this thread, though.  Why is this?

Well i believe its because the LOT miners.. the experienced once at least have gotten used to EACH and EVERY pool being ddosed for 12 hours+ at a stretch.. so everyone just wants to get on and start mining asap..

Used to be devianttwo's pool had the majority of the hash power but that changed as the pool is being closed down.

As a result of pools constantly crashing.. Most of the miners got a chance to experience each and every pool in the hopes they could mine.. Nut has/had 3 servers.. jpn, eu and nl(now terminated) which means that he has the best chance for going on even if one server were to be ddos..

I understand some are being DDOSed to death.  That's half the problem.  When one of the other decent sized ones gets attacked, Nuts goes to 65+ %.  Since half the miners are on that pool anyway and get most of the blocks, I'm sure they don't care, but this coin is shooting itself in the foot.  No decent exchange will list a coin that is controlled by one mining pool.

edit:  Looks like one of those ddos just happened and network hashrate dropped in half.  Nuts as of 11:44 EST is 75% of all hashing.

Now - as for the code... There are issues that lead to all pools running at a 500% average time to block. All pools now have to run a custom daemon to enable mining to work properly. So, as mining is the one thing that a coin needs, else you cant move it or create it, you'd think that it might be a priority to fix?

Is mrlotto ever gonna reply to this? Fix the buggy code? No lets add more webgames first...  Huh

The rejects are caused by a bug still in the wallet code for some reason, not the consolidation of hashing power.

Nevertheless, your concern is justified and, I'm sure, shared by more than me.

Nutnut, you should really consider an exorbitant fee on your pool, or something, to incentivize this network to decentralize.

If some of you were serious about getting this added to Cryptsy you would be voting it up. The add LOT to Cryptsy thread only has 178 votes, add UNC thread has 663 votes and the UNC thread has only been on 3 days longer.

I can have this up for the weekend if you are ready

thanks

That is from the owner of RapidBalls that i have been talking to.  Is there holders here with several millions that can help me in this?  This can surely take LOT to the next level as it is a known lottery game with great design and good features.

Ok for those that dont know this is the site http://rapidballs.eu/

I am happy to help out with a donation if you get enough interest. Once you have all the expressions of interest perhaps let me/us know what sort of contribution you would like?

Good work btw Smiley

Okay guys!  Read up and prepare to chip in.

Hi Hampus

Trust you are having a great Christmas?

I would be pleased to be the official lotto site for this coin, and will setup a server with it.

I will also setup an invest program to allow the community to benefit from it

Please can you confirm what bounty you guys can come up with?

I am happy if LottoCoin doesn't have to be btc, as I will use it to kick off the wallet.

Depending on what stakes the site should have, will depend on this amount.

So if 10m then I can offer stakes up to 500 a bet as the exposure will be 500 x 5000 = 2.5m

Then with the invest program it will keep the balance sweet for long term

I can have this up for the weekend if you are ready

thanks

RB

ok what i did was earse the obj remake it but now i get this one what is this?
main.cpp:17:53: fatal error: boost/random/uniform_int_distribution.hpp: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.
make: *** [obj/main.o] Error 1

seems like it's missing something how do i fix this now??

This is the boost include path, it does not find the header file for random numbers. You need put something for BOOST_INCLUDE_PATH in your makefile, such as
BOOST_INCLUDE_PATH=/usr/local/boost_1_53 wherever you installed the boost.

I would like it if the lottery game was fixed. Since i deposited 50k and still can not access the site with my adress. Would like it if this was fixed before the first draw. Thanks.

Hi i discovered a bug, due to you guys being big spenders  Grin

It times out if its trying to display 10s of 1000s of ticket numbers. Anything over 25000 causing this issue. The tickets were purchased ok, its just the displaying of them that doesnt work, im working on a solution, and should be fixed today, so you can login later and check. If anythings not right just PM me.

Currently you are getting 1 ticket per coin, but After this round, the ticket price will be increased to 100, that will make the thing run alot smoother and faster. So if you spend 1 million, you just get 10,000 tickets. The prizes will stay the same (95% prizepool 5% jackpot)

Sounds good! And yea the price of the tickets should increase so that sounds good!

Also mrlotto, if there is anything you need help with I am here and you can just throw a pm at me!

Cheers!
