There are usually free places in the real world, maybe around community centers, libraries, etc. There is always help, and if anyone feels alone, they can ask help in those places.

We are social creatures, so it is always good to have a bit of a chat with people in real life, not only digital.
exactly, In several places in my city there are psychology doctors or similar who can help addicts to recover from their addiction, but this free place is not available every day or only accepts customers on certain days, such as every monday.
with the free opportunity to consult about healing addiction, it can be used by addicts who really want to recover from their addiction without spending a lot of money, but still psychology doctors only help provide therapy or solutions and the rest is themselves and support from the family who can help out from the black zone of addiction.

you make a very good point at the end of your words. If we live in the real world, even though technology is currently sophisticated, the most effective thing is still to consult in real life and I am worried that if we look for solutions online, addicts will return to gambling through online gambling.

Therapy requires money. Online resources and support groups are often free or cheaper. These can save lives. Doesn't it amaze you how reaching rock bottom becomes a turning point? These stark realizations frequently strengthen the human soul. Isn't acknowledging an issue a powerful first step? Gambling is addictive. When it gets out of hand, the game plays you. The shift from gambling with money to betting on oneself to change must happen here. A gamble turns productive here. It's about improving life's odds, not in a casino. Does this perspective change not provide hope? As they say, every gamble teaches. Can gambling losses lead to a more balanced life?

One of the solutions which is recommended by most gamblers on this forum for gambling addiction is "Therapy" . Professional help in the form of therapy. It is good and very effective but how many persons can actually afford it? There is a fee for each session that lasts for a duration of 60minutes. And there are more than one session. Therapy for gambling addiction is expensive. How can those who are unemployed afford it? How about the college student? Or the person receiving minimum wage. What are the other low cost but very effective solutions to gambling addiction. And typically how long will it take before the addict starts to feel more in control and less withdrawal symptoms?
Will totally appreciate your responses. Thanks.

One of the problems with this is that therapy can often be expensive and gamblers will often have trouble scraping together the amounts needed to keep it going for a while, as one session is unlikely to be enough. It's also not guaranteed to help everyone, even if you did have the money for it. One thing that is worth considering however, is if you've reached the point of feeling like you need therapy, then you are admitting you have a problem and could be nearing rock bottom. It is often when people are at their lowest ebbs that they have realizations that maybe what they're doing is not good for them and that you can get a better life by choosing a different road, which is the first step to getting out of the gambling addiction rut.

How did this unemployed person got addicted to gambling in the first place?

Cross Addiction can be one therapy. This thread came up yesterday which seems a good alternative to battle addiction which is to divert the addiction to another addictive game. Somehow it could be a solution for a while in order for the addict to divert its attention to somewhere else. He could be battling this addiction soon but at least this will be another topic. PS4 is not so bad though. Somehow addicted to PS4 games is acceptable.

I believe that aside from getting professional help for the gambling addict, especially when the addict or their loved ones can not afford the fees of the therapy, I think that the best thing for the addict is to engage in another kind of activity. There are different types of sports and games out there, football, tennis, basketball or games like chess, ps4, as you have suggested, lastly the addict can put his energy into learning new things, like an art or trade. The goal is to occupy his mind with something that will distract him from gambling, and channel his mind to enjoying new things.
Since most gambling addicts don't want to acknowledge it as a problem it is also difficult to treat. That is why it is right to prepare yourself to quit gambling by trying to understand the various harmful aspects of gambling addiction. It is never possible to release it if the person does not want it to get rid of gambling addiction the first thing is awareness about it. This awareness should exist in the case of gambling addicts as well as other people in the society. Besides it is very important to know well about gambling addiction support from family and friends of addicts can help their loved ones return to a normal life.

Using fake money to gamble is a solution that can be used for people who want to experience gambling games without having to deposit money. They can experience many gambling games, especially slots, which have a variety of slot games from many slot providers.

By playing gambling games using fake money, they can enjoy their gambling games without having to think about gambling addiction. But if they choose to deposit their money to gamble and want to experience real gambling, at that point, they could run into problems. And it can indeed cause gambling addiction for them while they don't know how to anticipate it.

They shouldn't try to visit the casino for any purpose other than to experience any problems from gambling. Especially if they don't have self-control when playing slots, either using money or using fake money.
I'm trying to not laugh about this solution because I don't really know if it's effective but this is by far the funniest and creative solution that I've read when it comes to solving someone's gambling addiction although in the long-term, I do feel like this isn't the most optimal solution to help someone that's addicted because they're still gambling and compare that to when they gamble with real money, they now have a sort of unlimited one and they will never stop gambling.
If you read it again, you will know that it is not a solution to overcome someone's gambling addiction in the long term. What I recommend is for people who want to experience gambling games but without depositing any money and only using fake money. I am not writing that it is a solution for those who want to overcome their gambling addiction. You should be able to differentiate between those who are addicted to gambling and those who just want to experience gambling without losing money. They can still experience gambling games in casinos and use fake money given by the casino.

Intervention from your loved ones is probably the most low cost that I can think of in terms of a solution to gambling, it's free and the people that are trying to help you will do it for free, they might even sponsor your therapy in the case that you're so addicted in gambling. Intervention from your family is also a big help because that can also make you feel that you're not alone in your battle against addiction and that they still believe in you that you will be able to recover from your addiction.

One of the problems with gamblers who are addicted they always feel they do not have any problem been addicted and the ones who are going through alot because of the addiction don't always speak but tend to always keep it secrete to themselves. Even if their is a therapy for free I don't think people will come out freely speak out about the problem that is bothering them. Some people even make their gambling activities very secrete just because of how the society rate gamblers. Have always noticed that most gamblers prefer to keep their addiction problems a secret.

What I know is that those who are in therapy for gambling addiction seem to have a severe level of addiction. Now I also know that the payment is expensive; that's true. But my only question is: how did the person you are talking about lead to addiction?

What is that? Has he been a gambler for a long time, and has he reached a point where he loses a lot of money gambling? Also, if an addict cannot afford the fee for the therapy service, his close family and friends can help him get therapy.

Low cost but effective solutions to gambling addiction is do not deposit  Grin just simply throw away your money in a different wallet or some bank and lock it up. Today digital banks have a feature to lock your money in some period of time and there is a fee when you try to withdraw it early.

In crypto, there is also a staking with time period so throw it and you have no money to do a deposit. if you still want to do gamble just download a game from the app store or google play there is a plenty game out there with fake money you can do slot domino blakjack and lot of it
That's the best possible solution for it. Cheesy But, gambling addicts first think about their habit, it won't let them sleep at night if they know they have money somewhere that they can unlock and use to deposit and gamble again. Even a $5 savings might be used just to satisfy that urgency.
Regarding the gambling games being offered in Android applications, I don't think that it can also satisfy their gambling addiction. I've played those games and I can say it gets boring in the long run because in your mind you know there is no money on the line and it takes out the fun of it.

A time deposit might be the best idea. Throw all the money there and I am sure a gambling addict won't be able to withdraw it anytime. There's a specified term on when it can only be opened and I doubt even if he tries to force it that he will get those funds. Banks won't let it happen because most of the time deposit money is either invested or saved for a different purpose.

However taking into account how widespread addictions have become I expect for those programs to not be enough to help every single person out there with those troubles, and those going through them should expect to pay some money in order to receive the help they desperately need.
Yes, the program doesn't really help, in fact my friend cured himself without following a program like that to stop his addiction, each person has different treatment because each addict has a low level and some have a high level, it's very time-consuming if the level of addiction is very high. high because usually people like that tend to be very difficult to cure unless they don't have the intention within themselves to try to heal.

But for addicts who have a very low level, it is very easy to cure, usually just reducing their gambling activities slowly can help reduce the desire to gamble, the longer this is done, the more it will help to get rid of the bad habit of gambling addiction, my friend succeeded in doing that. try free methods starting from yourself, it will be better.

For the unaffordable therapy by an addicted gamblers according to OPs contexts, you can go through this thread that is based on quitting gambling.
It is said to be strictly free of charge. You could check it out maybe could be helpful

If it's free I doubt if they offer live chat therapy, I think it's either resource or public discussion like this forum, so you can't expect it's a professional who respond to your case. Any kind of project need money to survive, they could survive by donation, but we don't know how much people willing to make donation to them.
There are some government programs destined to help people to combat their addiction which have no cost associated with the treatment you may receive, there are also some NGOs which are specifically created to treat those people which also do not charge any money to help you.

However taking into account how widespread addictions have become I expect for those programs to not be enough to help every single person out there with those troubles, and those going through them should expect to pay some money in order to receive the help they desperately need.

All the free content and help for a person who is addicted is Welcome, I think that things should be done that way so that there are no problems later on, sometimes money can be the key to the cure of a person who has the problem, therefore when we see a person like this, if we can help with some money that would be ideal, but only exclusively for the treatment, not for other things, but for some good words, some advice, whatever. necessary to help you through your situation and it is very difficult for a person to be going through something like this. Personally, I have always said that when you have to do several things at once it is necessary to take your time and start to realize when a person is In a very long period of time in a casino, you have to ask him how he is doing, and first tell him that losses are the most normal thing in a casino, because that is what the business is about, that the casinos have their income, and that the person has a period of luck which must be approved without a doubt.

Now the thing when trying to make an experience better for an already addicted person is to get him out of the way, for me the most important thing is to keep his brain busy, that is, to put something where his body is distracted, I really If he is a man, I would always like to take him to a soccer field, and I would tell him that soccer represents a lot, but basically it is when the body gets tired and the mind rests, because soccer means a lot to me, and it is a A really good sport, it combines outside, speed, skill, everything is present, that's why I say it that way, and to the person who is like this, you invite him to play, besides that football is one of the sports where the most They meet friends, and more real friends emerge, that has always happened to me with this sport, of course it is like everyone else, but I believe that in football even more so.

I think if possible, it is always better to talk with another person in real life, instead of through phone or chat.

We are social animals, and just by being next to another person and talking with them you feel better.

Also walks in nature can be really positive.

And those things are all free.

or maybe what he means is that the person got unemployed because of gambling addiction that is
also the reason why he has no money to have that therapy in which for me is the same reason why we must not gamble
if we know nothing to handle our addictions and activities.

But also the only cheapest and effective way to escape from addiction is to ask or seek help ,
have seen this as effective when a cousin of mine becomes deep addicted in gambling.

But now for more than 4 years? he is sober and yeah never that engage in gambling for all those days now.
from our family members , because aside from moral support as they are the people that will never leave us in the deepest
side of our life.

These games can be entertaining and harmless, but are we missing something important? Psychological impact. Gambling's joy comes from taking chances and being unpredictable, not only from the money. Aren't these games, even with fake money, potentially fostering a gambling mindset? It's like dancing without music - the moves are the same but the feeling is different. Gambling can lead to addiction and financial ruin.

You mention self-control, which is crucial. The individual's gambling relationship matters more than the medium (real or fake money). Could playing with phony money give a false sense of security, making one underestimate genuine gambling risks? It's like bike training wheels - they prevent falls but don't teach balance. Don't we need to realize that gambling addiction is about behavior and impulse control, regardless of stakes? Fake money gambling may be safer, but it doesn't address self-control and risk awareness.
Yes, you are right because when the excitement of gambling comes and gives us pleasure, we can forget all the rules we made and we end up following the excitement and pleasure by using more money. Those who previously didn't use money because they used demo mode finally chose to deposit their own money to experience the real excitement and fun. And that is why we have to be able to take good care of ourselves when we are in a casino so that we are not tempted to use a lot of money to gamble.

Yes, self-control can protect someone who gambles from being tempted by what they see in the casino. They can also stay within their limits so that they will only gamble in moderation because they have seen the impact gambling will have if they lose self-control. When someone is addicted to gambling, they will not be able to take care of themselves because they no longer care about it and only want to gamble. As long as they can maintain good self-control while in the casino, they will definitely be fine whether they use real money to gamble or use money from demo mode. They will remember what to do, so they will not visit the casino too often because they know that it can make them lose self-control and end up being drawn deeper into gambling.

Its still risky to use fake money in gambling games, especially slots. Yes, it offers a risk-free gambling area. Lets not forget psychology. The fascinatingly sophisticated human mind often confuses virtual experiences with real-life outcomes. Does playing with fake money prevent gambling addiction? Perhaps not.

Even in simulated games, excitement and winning can instill false confidence. When actual money is involved, the stakes shift but mind programming persists. The switch from false to genuine money is psychological as well as economical. Therefore, awareness and control are crucial. When done properly, gambling can be fun and a test of chance and skill. Always remember the narrow line between enjoyment and folly.
It might still be risky to use demo money in gambling games. But at least if they have self-control, they won't be tempted by anything and their psychology won't be disturbed because they just want to experience gambling games using demo money. But if his self-control slowly begins to wane, that is when he will start to be tempted, and he can deposit real money to feel the tension even higher. And it's not a cheap gambling solution because, from the moment he deposits his money into his gambling account, he can continue to be tempted to play various gambling games that can cause him to lose his money.

In simulation games, a person can indeed get excitement and pleasure and win, but that is where a person's psychology will start to play, where he will think about what would happen if he used real money. Could he win as much as if he used fake money? If he does not have good self-control, he could be tempted to deposit a little money to see his luck. Slowly, he won't realize when he deposits more money just because he has lost. And if he really loses his self-control, he won't realize that he has actually used a lot of money to gamble.

Yes, using fake money to gamble can also be a solution because if you want to continue gambling we don't need to deposit money directly, we can just enjoy the game without having to be afraid of losing and our finances will remain safe.
For those that have fell into an addiction I do not think this is going to be too helpful, and my reasoning for this is that since they developed a compulsion already towards gambling, anything that resembles it may trigger in them the desire to try their luck one more time.

So while using play money to gamble may seem to provide a solution for those people, instead it is just tempting them to go back to their old ways, and in that case it is better for them to give up gambling completely for good.
