@Foxpup: It's almost time for a 4 year celebration!
Did I hear "celebration"?
Sounds like another giveaway.  Cheesy

This is very nice from both of you! I am sure icopress was touched by your thoughts and I am also sure that yahoo62278 will appreciate this initiative.
Indeed, I'm sure you are right!
I've also PMed icopress to have a quick look here and submit his number until our new deadline is over.
I'm sure he's very busy currently, so he doesn't read all the replies here and didn't notice our new proceedings.  Smiley

It was indeed a very interesting way for things to happen... Me, renovating my house... Thinking if I'll have money to buy this couch too... living in dust for 2 months... At some point, when I just could not stand it anymore I decided to tell 1miau this story... This is was followed by his nice and funny idea of the giveaway... Then a long run since Spetmember til mid-December for obtaining hilariousandco's approval for holding the giveaway here... What would have happened if I did not tell my story to 1miau? Or if we would not have received hilarioussandco's approval? Or LoyceV's...?

It's for a good cause and I'm sure it'll help icopress a lot.
Just a quick update: After discussing with icopress and Gazeta we've reached a consensus - Since icopress currently has some liquidity left to support his charitable actions for some time, we've decided to support yahoo62278 during a dedicated period of his life.

This is very nice from both of you! I am sure icopress was touched by your thoughts and I am also sure that yahoo62278 will appreciate this initiative.

EDIT: And the auction has started[1]!

Great job, Rick! (On a side note, seeing how many things you did in such a short time, I only now realize how much I missed you (and, most likely, other as well) during last year, when you were not so active...).

How could we expect that buying your BonBon L couch is directly helping Ukrainians and icopress? You really made a good decision by buying your BonBon L couch. It's generating so much positivity.  Cheesy
I've got to ask to Gazeta if he ever imagined that his couch would have such a positive impact in someone's life Smiley

Indeed... who could think about these consequences...? I'm thinking also about this friend of mine, which told me about this modular couch about 6 years ago -- and since then I promised myself that if I'll ever have my own house I'll certainly buy such a couch. I'm thinking to tell him this story and let him know that without having him telling me about the couch, 6 years ago, I don't know if I would have bought it now.

Or if we would not have received hilarioussandco's approval? Or LoyceV's...?

Probably none if these would have happened anymore, and this is why life is so interesting and beautiful... A butterfly raises its wings here and causes a storm on the other side of the ocean... A friend tells you something 6 years ago and when you follow his suggestion, your action helps someone in deep struggle...

As we've discussed, I would only do this if we had a consensus within all the participants that took part in this event. If we do not reach consensus then I'll abide by the rules and it would be available in the next giveaway.

In addition, we've collected enough replies now how to determine a winner for our 2nd place. So, we'll look forward to the last Block mined in February 2023.
Let's set a date to predict a new Block number until February 12, 2023.

My prediction is:

Time left until February, 2023, 23.59h:
21 days
0 hours

On average, each day will be mined (1 Block per 10 minutes) 144 Blocks per day (6 Blocks per hour x 24 hours = 144 Blocks)

Calculation if we won't see any hashrate change:
(21 days * 144 Blocks per day) = 3.024 Blocks
+ (0 hours x 6 Blocks per hour) = 0 Blocks
= 3.024 Blocks until our given date

=>

3.024 + 775.506 (current Block) = 778.530

And like in our previous round, we need to adjust our prediction due to difficulty changes.
Difficulty changes are made due to hashrate changes, which are following BTC price.
Since I've expected BTC to make a nice move towards 25k by end of January and it was really close, so more miners joined the network (hashrate increased) => more Blocks were mined, I'm expecting a normalizing BTC price in February.
This time, I'm only adding a total of 2% more Blocks to be mined.

3.024 * 1,02 = 3.084,48 Blocks

=>

3.084,48 + 778.530 (current Block) = 781.614

My prediction: 774.510

I will PM him today, in case he does not see the post. If he refuses it I propose to make a short raffle with the participants of the "couch raffle".
But as our rules are stating, if the winner refuses it, it'll be allocated for the next giveaway. So, if it should be refused we have to allocate it to our next givwaway. And that's also leading to our next giveaway: I'm already planning to hold an educational giveaway as I've done some years beforeSmiley Smiley Smiley Smiley
(...) And also see how much he can obtain for this card, if I understood well. And donate this amount too. And have me send the card to the winner.
Indeed you are right GazetaBitcoin! My idea was to channel whatever amount the collectible gathered in the auction to directly support icopress efforts in supporting his country. Sadly that means that I'll have to give you a tiny bit amount of work in sending the card to the winner, but I think that it's for a noble cause.

For this giveaway, I would allocate some valuable BTC of course and we could add your card, too.  Smiley

RickDeckard both agreed and refused

Inside his soul he accepted the prize. However, as he has a big heart, he proposed something else: he says he wants to make a charity topic inside Collectibles board, where to donate the amount won at this giveaway for icopress Ukraine donation address. And also see how much he can obtain for this card, if I understood well. And donate this amount too. And have me send the card to the winner.

Now I know about our giveaway rule and I have a solution for not breaking the rule and also support RickDeckard in his noble gesture. As I have more than one card of this kind (I have a set of 5 cards, from which I already sent one to gbianchi), I will co-sponsor your next giveaway with another card and also help RickDeckard and send a card to the one he'll tell me to do it Smiley

I tend to agree with this option albeit I think it may be a long period between the end of the 1st run and the guessing of the 2nd and 3rd place winner... What do you think of meeting half way - EOD 14 February - as the final date for guessing the last mined BTC block?
But it would shorten our remaining celebration time.  Cry

And I need your Bitcoin address for sending your valuable BTC.  Smiley

Alternative solution for 2nd/3rd place: Combine the prizes and split evenly, so both get 0.375 mBTC.
It's a solution but it's also a solution where we would lose almost 4 weeks of additional celebration time!  Cry
